Does some motorola require special chargers ?. I have a V550 and I am using the regular charger but it is not charging. ( used this charger to charge V66, T720, V300, V600,C975) but it won't charge this V550.

I have the same problem. The icon indicates (red battery) that the phone is charging but when disconnected from the charger switches off and it appears that the battery is not charged.
I take the phone should take charge without having to put in the unlock code first. Obviously there is not enough power left to allow to put this number in, even if connected to the charger at the time. It seems the phone cannot be operated on charger alone. I will try to exchange the battery again to see whether this alleviates the problem. I will keep you posted but would be grateful for any ideas/explanations.
