I have an inactive Samsung SGH-x426 that was originally serviced by AT&T Wireless. I moved to another provider, who gave me a new phone. What I want to do is to sell the unused x426, but when starting the phone, I get a "PIN BLOCKED - CALL CUSTOMER CARE" message (courtesy of my wife's monkeying around with the phone). Entering the PUK number is the only interraction allowed. Naturally, I do not have the PUK number. AT&T (Cingular) claims that the original record of the PUK is gone forever, and that there is nothing they can do. I have read on these forums about the Samsung data cable and the programs that "unlock" (like WINIMEI) - can this process help me to get around the PUK problem so that I can clear the SIM and put the phone in a usable state before selling? Please advise, and thanks.
