I ARRIVE TO UNLOCK MORE THAN 20 PHONE WITH USPU 4.2 OF BP.BONUS WITH THE SAME CABLE OF 6** 7** 8** .
I DO NOT LINK PIN5 TO PIN 6
I DO NOT ADD 5V OR 12V
THE ONLY THINK I DO IS TO HAVE A FULL BATTERY CHARGED.
I REPARED ALSO ALL MY DEAD PHONE WITH IT
TRY AND LET ME KNOW

You are right. No need external 5V or 12V power supply at all. All chips inside phone is 3.3v single power supply. Only thing is needed a full charged battery.

I 100% agree when flashing the phone does not need external power supply (if you have experience with the original Ericsson EMMA Service Software, a message 'PLEASE INSERT A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY' will be displayed before flashing or unlocking.
Actually, you just need a +5v 'Signal'to pin6 makes phone to enter 'Test/Flash' mode, the old model cable (for 6xx, 7xx) normally short pin 5 & 6 (count from right to left),
pin5 & pin12 both have +5v signal when the phone is switch off, why the cable manufacturer just short pin 5 & 6, the anwser is: they just need to solder two pins together instead of using an extra wire to connect pin6 & pin12, it less the production cost (one of my friend is Data Cable manufacturer), then using pin12 to provide +5V for the MAX232 IC which inside the cable.
In the new series (some 8xx, all A1018s, T1x series, the pin5 does not support +5v when the phone is switch off (it has +5v when the phone is on), so we should short pin6 & pin12
together that makes the phone into test mode by pressing the 'NO' key when the unlocking/flashing software ask to do so.
The power source for flashing is directly from the battery (not from the external connector), don't believe the rumour you need external +12v, all components inside the phone do not need over +5v. (for 6xx, 7xx, 8xx, A1018 and Txx series)

About chip inside Ericsson phone.
That's true that most chip's are 3,3 or 5V. But when you look close FLASH chip, you will see that's (usualy) 28F prefix, that mean it's 12V needed to program, so theresn't "direct" supply for battery, have to be use "charge-pump". The point is, that A1018s (just like GA628, GH688, S888) haven't protection. When you put +12V, on pin (usualy) you demange flash chip (interesting thing is, that charge pump still work's - but output voltage is to high). All "small" model's (like GF768, Txxx) have internal protecion. Even if you put to high voltage, flash chip will not "burn".
At end : You don't have to use fully charge battery if you put external +5V volt on test pin :-)

Actually, the current consumption during flashing is about 30-40 MA only, why
you need '+5v'? The answer is: you need to supply a '+5v' to operate you cable!!! Normally, the cable is build with a MAX232 IC which needs +5v for 'stable working', but some cables also build-in with a named 'L7805' voltage regulator IC (3xx & 6xx dual heads model, the battery voltage of 3xx is +6v, it needs to 'step down') which accepts as much as +10v then convert it to '+5v' for the MAX232 IC, but, if the input voltage (from the phone) is +5v only, then the output voltage is down to around 3.4v and this regulator IC is working under a 'non-stable' status, it means that it cannot supply a stable voltage & current to the MAX232 IC, thats why the software (ER2000 or Saras Workshop) may work
unstable!!!, we should use (or self-made) a cable and let the MAX232 IC connect to the phone battery directly (actually, the MAX232 IC uses the current less than 15 MA)
Please remember to operate the ER2000 with a 'faster computer' (200MHz or above is recommend)
