Hello folks,

Firstly let me point out that the whole bluetooth thing is totally new to me. I am a lowly applications developer!

I have an issue at the moment that, i think is with the widcomm stack on the machine. heres the senario.

I have a device that transmits data via bluetooth to a named local service that is running on one of my com ports. i have an application that i wrote to read in the stream of bytes and do stuff and send back some data. the device is an off the shelf 3rd party device. this device has no name! it only has an address.

the problem i am having is this:

Firstly i pair the device and enter the password, this is fine.
Now when the device transmits data i get a bubble over the bluetooth radio icon in the system tray saying something like "device "" is trying to connect to service NYSERVICE on this machine, click here to allow".
So i click the bubble and then a pop up appears saying something like "blueetooth device "" is trying to access the service MYSERVICE. Click OK to allow this action" then there is a check box that says "always allow this device access this service". this is where my problem is..... so i check this checkbox and press ok.
i activate the device again and now it sends the data straight through to my little app, problems! no bubbles no dialog boxes!
one the next attempt... i get a bubble saying "Error in pairing with device. Reason: authentication failed, please try pairing again."

So i pair again and follow the same steps and the same thing happens again.

Every time, it works the first time i click the check box, works the next time but fails on the third attempt.

Has anyone incountered this kinda thing before?

Does anyone have a solution, or is there anyway to bypass the bubble and dialog box?

thanks a lot for you time in reading this and for any help/ advice that you may be able give

Kind Ragards,

DaveH.

Same thing by me when i'm trying to connect my Logitech Headset.
Widcomm Software 4.0.1.700, bbs-patched.
I've choosed non-secured connection, but i have always to type the pin, every second connection attempt (the first one fails)
