here is cleanstart


this app is just like uncache..... but has way cooler features than uncache

you can even disable loading of panels (though i wouldn't recommend unloading all of them)


this has a diagnosing feature which is way faster than FixBoot and in this ..... the diagnoses just fly through the skipped apps and DBs



till today,..... i was using uncache + fixboot


i used to recieve max db cache chunk as 8924 kbs

with cleanstart..... after loading 5 more apps..... i get 9430 kbs

Comments:
This software working like UnCache, but IS FREE!!!
And UNINSTALL UnCache before installing CleanStart. (well....... disabling it will be just fine if you just want to try it out)

I agree with Lifedrive-n...Quicktake appears to be a good software application but Screenshots offers a conduit that will save your photographs in a designated folder on your computer when you hotsync! It also clears the photos off of your device which saves room!

P.S... FYI - for you Stra Trek fans... there is another movie coming out in December of 2008! It'll focus on James T Kirk and Spock in their younger days... when they meet at Star Trek Academy! I can't wait!!!!

For some reason I can't seem to get the iconsplus packs to install right when I install them it seems right, but when I open IconsPlus they don't show up like the WinXP icons do. Do I need to do anything special to get them to work?

I did as you suggested and downloaded hjsplit then attempted to delete the extra "rar" at the end of the two files so that I could "join" them but I can't figure out how to delete the extra "rar" at the end of both files!

I tried renaming the files but that didn't work! When I open the hjsplit program and select the "join" obtion it can't seem to locate the two files.. possibly because I can't figure out how to delete the extra "rar" at the end of them.

I probably sound stupid so forgive me but... how do I do that? :confused:

man, that was the best game EVER! I played that gane for a year and then I actually started editing the pictures of the fghters and the background and stuff. I doubt there is a app like that for palm, but you can get snes games that have the same fighting style like power rangers.(use snes in ljp)

Can anyone shed some light on my problem...has this happened to anyone else? PLZ HELP

i like all the games in which you have a nice fight with the opponent like in some of the dbz s (not thosein which you just go on reading the text and that's it...... the game is over!!!)

all i know is that crash pro will show a message that the device has crashed for a user specified time (10 secs by default) and then reset.... more time wasted:mad:



really weird that palm has created such an idiotic thing such as a crash on it's OS..... neither symbian nor iphone ( i don't know abt windows mobile) has such a thing



though i have to agree palm os is still better





did anyone of you try the cobalt skin in skinUI (you can install palmrevolt skin to ram and then press import in the skins dialog box in skinUI)



cobalt is palm OS 6.1


it does look grat in front of the normal 5.4.9 skin

i really don't know how much ram it takes up, but as of this moment i have no other choice. in my opinion it's the best browser out right now.........after tweaking the java app.

you need a subscription for realdice world. but if you download all those games individually you can register them with 29627 and still be able to log in and join internet games for as long as you want.

I have already tried opera mini several times and I just don't like the big footprint that is left with JVM...and then you have to install opera which also takes up memory. I really don't like the card launcher apps for programs that I use all the time I save that for internal memory and card launcher is used for apps I HAVE to HAVE on the device. I really think I just need a Hard reset to set it all back up and running smoothly. I only recently started to use simulators for Palm OS. And I was using my actual treo to try out apps which I probably shouldn't do thats why I now use the simulators. But as far as this crap with blazer..........palm just needs to DUMP it. I can't wait for the Linux Palm just the things I have seen already make me drool.

That's what I use and its great not only does my treo NOT have to reset all the time to get the Serial. But its very convenient so I can TEST out the apps to see if its compatiable with the TREO (I also have the TREO Simulator). I believe I found the Simulator here but here you go enjoy. You can only run these on PC the apps are .exe files.

Well I found a very interesting app just now for the palm os it is now translated into english.... I haven't tried it but from what I have read from post it may seem to say good bye to trials and hello to Lightspeed 3.0. and anyother app. I'm going to try it out tomorrow since I am passing out soon but for everyone else that would like to try here you go.

In a few words list Saved / UnSaved Prefs and all RAM registries with any program. For what?

Saved / UnSaved Prefs:
Most of the applications (not to say 100 %) generally keep their data from registry there (if the not registered program this or, the amount of days that are of trial, etc) and some data of configuration. Therefore if one installs an application and delete these registries, it will have the trial indefinitely. This allows us to use applications to which still the cracks could not be created or they do not find it.

The registries in the RAM:
Of but useful the for two reasons most important thing to really understand.
1) We who have palms with little RAM use programs like PowerRun, LinkStart, etc; in order to be able to move applications that require execution in RAM to the card. But it is that these programs not always can relate (almost never they do it) all the registries (data bases pdb, prc hidden, archives with nonorthodox extensions like for example tft that contain text format in the OfficeSuite program and which they occupy like 4 megas between all, etc). Therefore with this program we can know exactly as they are all the registries that a program X installs to us. Good, it is that apps as the LinkStart gives the option you that if everything could not raise, you do it by same. Good, now you are going to know how exactly that to raise. People! Now apps them can weigh in the ram 1 k (that is what weighs, for mine is less but palm does not show in bytes the weights to you) the linked ones.

2) Good, also they are going to be able to know when exactly an application weighs.

3) When you decide to deinstall the app.... THE WHOLE THING. Think. As they are going to have everything in the card, only it is necessary which they erase the application and the Link. Already this, the clean deinstallation but for palm that can do it without having any uninstaller.

They see what it is possible to be done? Clear that they need other tools that with this, they can complement to really create control in his palms.
I recommend that they use this app next to 1) the Preference Remover. 2) LinkStart (I recommend to this, but there are others make similar things like Zlauncher)

Way of use:

1) Install RegsFind.prc and Regs_Data.pdb.

2) Before installing the program which they want to know its data, they must create a datum point.

Tap in "Creating Point".

3) Now to install the application that interests them. To launch it, to use it awhile and to leave.

4) Go to RegsFind and tap on the button "****yze Differences".

They can see that them ready all the new data.

The app basically lists all of the files in saved preferences and unsaved preferences that are created by an installed app.

The benefits of the app (according to the text above) are:

1) When you move an application from RAM to your card using an app such as PowerRun, LinkStart, etc, all of the associated files don't always get moved. RegsFind will list all of the files associated with a particular app which will allow you to manually move them, thereby freeing up additional RAM.

2) RegsFind will tell you exactly how much memory is being used by a particular app because you can see all of the files associated with the app.

3) When you uninstall/delete an app, you will be certain that you deleted all of the associated files and didn't leave any orphan files behind. Again, possibly saving RAM space.

Uses:

1) The app can be used with Preference Remover to find and remove the file that tracks the number of days the trial has been used, thereby allowing the trial version to be used indefinitely.

2) Use with linkstart as described above.

Hello guys this question is about MobiTV. Ive installed the trial and ran the installer. After doing so I installed the crack for MobiTV that was along with the zip file. I then install the file that removes the chunk file and then launches MobiTV. Well when I run the latter file it still asks me for a email address and password. Ive searched the forums to see if there was a cracked account that was used, but I didnt find one. I usually hit cancel on that login screen and it lauches MobiTV but it plays MSNBC for maybe like 2min and then it goes to MobiTV ads, as well all channels are greyod out except the "00 MobiTV" channel. Anyone having the same issue, or did I go about the installation the wrong way. Thanks for any help guys!!!

ATTENTION MobiTV Install for Palm Centro:

For everyone trying to get the MobiTV to work on their Palm Centro download the MobiTV from their bonus downloads which is on ur phone (My Centro-> Bonus(tab)). After downloading and installing that, open it and then exit. Now install the patch which someone posted in a zip file in this thread. You can use the vars.chunk eraser too but it doesn't really make a difference. You cant really choose channels from the guide, you pretty much have to use the up and down arrows at the bottom of the screen, and not all channels work. Somtimes you'll see at the top "no cip", but there are channels that do come in, oh well, besides hey its FREE!

For some reason installing the trial version that is also in the zip in this thread and then patching that doesn't work on the Centro.

all i know is that my LD is the best and is always ready to help me whenever i slide the "juice" button

only gets a little troublesome when i install an app which is not compatible with LD but it still is an angel

From my understanding, you can now install it on Palm OS's and Nokia's. I can only guess...but I bet we will see almost all SmartPhones use Linux or Android in the very near future (this year). This kinda explains why Palm said no to Google when they asked for Cell phone to join them in making the Android OS. All though I still think it would be awsome if Palm and Google teamed up to create and OS that is compatiable with all Palm's. I am going to try to install thin LINUX OS on my old treo and see if it really works. I tried the VERY FIRST Linux version for palm using CocoBoot but I did not like that very much. Pretty soon we will be able to partition our HD's on our phones and install a couple of OS's like we can do now with computers. Keep your fingers crossed and just hope these companies see the light of day. And they see that people who buy smartphones/PDA's would love the option to totally customize their purchase and use it to its full potential. Just my 2 cents.

Lol, not really ages but for the last 2 and a half years they have been talking about Linux and Palm. And only about a year ago Palm said they will stop producing new phones with Garnet OS. So, that was when Palm really started the ball rolling and started working with LINUX. But that was only after the first person (I forgot his name) actually got Linux up and RUNNING on his device. Then Palm seen a lot (I mean a WHOLE LOT) of people trying to get Linux up and running on their device. Plus, a company that is falling has to make changes to their dynamics ie. New OS, more apps for their customers. Palm is a little behind the ball as far as incorperating Linux in the OS but everything I have found out about these phones stuns me. You can basically do ANYTHING with a Palm OS. And when they finally get Linux up and running super smooth then and only then will Palm be the superior OS once again (that's what I think).

I know that if it is an mp3 stream you can add it to mundu radio, via the account that you made when you download the app. you just copy and past the address there, and it should work as long as it is an mp3 stream.
I tried it but some of the stations were not mp3 so it didnt work, good luck to you

Another option is go to mobile.palm.com on your phone and scroll down to AUDIO. You can use the Radio Locator for actual radio stations that stream and it also has PODCAST which you can search for online streaming stations. What format is the stream in, that you want to listen to?

Is there anyone that can tell me as to why I get this message here?
( Service Connenction progress ) Error: Serial timeout. I have tried to get on the net useing my wireless bluetooth on my pda, and the bluetooth on my computer. Anyone know anything about this? Or is the reason I get this error is perhaps I am not useing it with my cellphone? It would be nice to be able to get online with it. I have never tried to get on the net until now, so I am sure it needs updates could this be why? Plz anyone that knows anything, I am willing to try, I most prob am doing something wrong but I am not sure? If you think you can help, but need more info, just ask me.

From my understanding, you can now install it on Palm OS's and Nokia's. I can only guess...but I bet we will see almost all SmartPhones use Linux or Android in the very near future (this year). This kinda explains why Palm said no to Google when they asked for Cell phone to join them in making the Android OS. All though I still think it would be awsome if Palm and Google teamed up to create and OS that is compatiable with all Palm's. I am going to try to install thin LINUX OS on my old treo and see if it really works. I tried the VERY FIRST Linux version for palm using CocoBoot but I did not like that very much. Pretty soon we will be able to partition our HD's on our phones and install a couple of OS's like we can do now with computers. Keep your fingers crossed and just hope these companies see the light of day. And they see that people who buy smartphones/PDA's would love the option to totally customize their purchase and use it to its full potential. Just my 2 cents.

Lol, not really ages but for the last 2 and a half years they have been talking about Linux and Palm. And only about a year ago Palm said they will stop producing new phones with Garnet OS. So, that was when Palm really started the ball rolling and started working with LINUX. But that was only after the first person (I forgot his name) actually got Linux up and RUNNING on his device. Then Palm seen a lot (I mean a WHOLE LOT) of people trying to get Linux up and running on their device. Plus, a company that is falling has to make changes to their dynamics ie. New OS, more apps for their customers. Palm is a little behind the ball as far as incorperating Linux in the OS but everything I have found out about these phones stuns me. You can basically do ANYTHING with a Palm OS. And when they finally get Linux up and running super smooth then and only then will Palm be the superior OS once again (that's what I think).

serial is different for each device. serial goes by your hotsync name. that's why you have to use keygen. btw it is not a virus a scanned it and archived it myself. i also have the best antivirus software for this year. (bitdefender total security).............;):);):):o:o:eek:

Not in a milllion years(ok until linux comes out) will there be a psp emulator for palm. Gba is hard enough and ds is impossible. n 64 is impossible too.

PalmSource took the wraps off Palm OS 6 last week during the PalmSource Developer conference. In this piece we take a closer, in-depth look at the next generation Palm OS operating system. Cobalt is a new enhanced version of the Palm operating system that is designed to enable the creation of new categories of smart handheld devices.

Roles of the Two New Versions
First up was a bit of background on both of the newly announced operating systems and the reasons why PalmSource choose to follow a dual OS approach. Both Cobalt, formally known as Palm OS 6, and Garnet, Palm OS 5.4, will coexist in the marketplace. PalmSouce will still be contiue to use version numbers, for the sake of developer tracking and support personnel, they will just be hidden behind the scenes in the info and about dialouges.
While Cobalt is the next generation operating system, Garnet will continue to be developed and refined. Both provide different solutions for licensees, and they will have a choice between which version meets the need of their devices and or markets. Garnet is being marketed as an excellent choice for today's handhelds and smartphones. Garnet is a mature OS and a good path for entry and mainstream devices with both wireless and telephony capabilities.

Previously known by its internal code names of Atlas and Sahara, Palm OS 6.0 is now formally known as Palm OS Cobalt. The OS has been completely "re-factored" (to use CTO Larry Slotnick's wording) at the foundation, with more than 80% of the source code being rewritten. It is a 32-bit, fully ARM native Operating System. Palm Inc (http://www.palm.com/) started the work on the new OS and developed the core microkernal. Following that, the team of Be engineers contributed heavily to the development of Cobalt along with the talented folks at PalmSource.
Multi tasking & Protected Memory
Cobalt is a fully multi threading and multitasking OS, which means developers can create applications that operate concurrently and have tasks performed in the background. For instance, you could be downloading your email over wi-fi, take an incoming phone call and at the same time check your calendar all at once on your device. A background-processing model was designed to reduce most memory problems commonly associated with multitasking in mobile devices. There is also more support for built in RAM and ROM memory with the current max at 256MB. 256MB is by no means a built in ceiling, as higher limits are possible in future releases.
The OS has been beefed up with strong memory protection and security so that applications run in their own memory space and licenses can "plug" in their own security devices or encryption means. Protected memory also means that one application crashs won't bring the entire OS to a halt. As a result, the Cobalt is much less "hacker friendly". Previously, developers had the ability to patch or trap anything in the OS, now applications have their own separated memory space and only specifically signed apps can run in the system space, all of which is transparent to the developer. PalmSource believes you will want to trade "hack-ability" for "support-ability."

PalmSource incorporated a new modular communications architecture into Cobalt. It is a unified streams based system that allows multiple continuous communication sessions. This will allow a number of improvements to both wireless and telephony scenarios. For instance you could be connected to a Wi-Fi network and take a voice call at the same time, or be synchronizing your device and have an SMS or email message come in. It will also allow for network applications to run in the background, such as an instant messaging program that always keeps you signed in.
Other features designed to improve the wireless abilities include a integrated Bluetooth 1.1 stack developed by PalmSource. The new stack supports all of the major profiles found in the Bluetooth v1.1 spec. Licensees that incorporate a bluetooth radio will now share the same drivers and APIs, ensuring device compatibility and making it easier to add Bluetooth services to a device. PalmSource has also made other improvements to the Bluetooth drivers that speed up device discovery, setup and pairing.
PalmSource has also put together a standard Phone dialer suite and a new connection manager. The Phone pad incorporates a dialing application and call history and management system, and a SMS system which is integrated with the address book. Developers will also have a standard means for displaying signal strength and other phone information via a new set of APIs. The new connection manager was designed to make it much easier to connect and switch between a Wi-Fi, GPRS, Serial, Bluetooth or any other type of network. It is much more user friendly and simplified than the old system.
Multimedia
On the multimedia side of things Cobalt contains a multitude of new features and improvements. Cobalt contains a extensible programming framework for developers to create richer and more sophisticated multimedia applications. There is a new high quality graphics rendering engine that supports 2D rendering, paths, clipping, video filtering, transparency and other complex drawing routines. Fonts are now fully scaleable and anti-alaised for maximum clarity, there will also be an easy method to any any True Type based font into the system.

There is much more flexible support of large screens, in fact the system can even support screen sizes up to 32,000 by 32,000 pixels. Paving the way for all sorts of new screen sizes and types. Further multimedia support includes native playback of ADPCM/PCM wav files, MP3 and OGG Vorbis, as well as MPEG1 and MPEG4 video. The new sound manager can mix and handle over 16 streams of audio and can also record in 8/16 bit in mono or stereo. PalmSource is also providing APIs for access to audio and video hardware.
Applications
Palm OS Cobalt will continue to ship with the standard Palm PIM applications the Palm platform is known for. They have all been updated and are now based fully ARM native code. All the applications will also have built in support for the dynamic input area to expand the viewing area. Address Book and Date Book were redesigned to support up to 255 fields, and now providing better interoperability with Microsoft Outlook. The nature of the PIM databases has been enhanced to allow Palm OS licensees and developers can to extend and customize the PIM databases to create new fields and add features without compromising compatibility or creating incompatibilities. Address books fields have been changed to now more closely resemble their Outlook counterparts, and user data is spread across graphical tabs, instead of having to scroll down for more information.
The core applications included are: Launcher, Preferences Panel, Welcome/Setup, Address Book, Datebook, To Do List, Memo Pad, Card Info, Giraffe and Calculator. Syncronization
Cobalts new synchronization system became a controversial topic (http://www.palminfocenter.com/view_story.asp?ID=6547) since is was revealed that there would be no support for the Macintosh platform. One of the reasons is because the synchronization system has been redone and enhanced. The system has a new schema for supporting secure synchronization over a variety of means including serial, USB and Bluetooth. This extended frameworks allows developers to create secure databases. PalmSource has also removed the previous 64K limit on records, which allows for larger databases and faster transfers. Another enhancement is a new HotSync exchange that automatically recognized many standard file formats and automatically converts them. For instance you can transfer images, audio or a spreadsheet over via hotsync without a manual conversion process.
Application compatibility
PalmSource says the software transition to Cobalt will be just like the migrations from Palm OS 4 to 5. "Well behaved" apps that comply to with the standard PalmSource APIs should generally be able to run without modification. This is because Cobalt includes a software emulator, designed to enable software programs created for earlier versions of Palm OS to run on Palm OS Cobalt. Other applications should be easily converted with minimal work. David Oakley of Astraware was able to convert Bejeweled to Cobalt in less than a half days work.
Developer Tools
PalmSource also introduced new software development tools for Palm OS Cobalt and Palm OS Garnet. A technical preview of the new Palm OS Developer Suíte is now available to Palm OS developers in the Resource Pavilion in the Developer Zone (http://www.palmsource.com/developers). The new Palm OS Developer Suite is based on the Eclipse environment, an open-source, Integrated Development Environment (IDE) originally developed by IBM that supports software development in a variety of languages, including C, C++, Java and COBOL. PalmSource and its partners now offer a wide variety of development tools, including Metrowerks CodeWarrior, the Eclipse environment, Borland's tool suite and the Microsoft NET compatible tools from AppForge.
When?
As for when to expect the first handheld running Cobalt? The new OS already shipped to developers this past December. My safe estimate would be in the fall of this year, though it is possible something could arrive before late summer timeframe. What about upgrades? Palm OS Cobalt only requires 16MB of ROM space to reside in, so it is theoretically possible to upgrade amy of the current high end handhelds on the market today that have a flash-able ROM greater than 16MB. However it is up to the devices manufacturers themselves to make such an upgrade available for specific handhelds.

well as it happened.... i was taking screenshots of my LD's new looks after installing myKBD by alex pruss



an amazing app


you can change the status bar looks and the clock popup and the keyboard and graffiti panel looks




but when i wanted to take screenshots..... quick take from toysoft just refused to take screenshots of the statusbar and the DIA section.....


that's when i realized what a useful app screenshot5 was.... well i have now converted and am running screenshot5 successfully




although directly saving to card was a much better feature but now i am happy with the saving it once in a while manually

today i installed verichat and removed mundu



i am just very happy abt this change




verichat allows me to have two yahoo ids at the same time


it gives me less crashes


it never crashes just when i am abt to open my offline messages causing all messages to EVAPORATE:p




verichat file upload is just amazing





many ppl here might be thinking that verichat is more primitive than mundu



i say no!!!!


ok... i have no friends on GTalk so i can as well manage to use only verichat




i say that verichat has better icons too!!!!!! and more of them


you don't feel like vomiting on verichat icons like you do while using mundu

What is the best on screen keyboard for Palm?


The program MyKbd by Alex Pruss is a good substitute for the Palm keyboard. I have used it on myTX with excellent results. You can get different skins for different layouts of keys and colors. It also has extra features such as having a digitizer alignment feature, setup for running macros from the keyboard. The numbers, letters, puncutation marks are all visible at the same time in hexogonal shaped keys. I have uploaded a file that registers the program that you install on your Palm along with the program and skins. There are free skins available at either the Brighthand or 1src forums.

no it's not a good idea to use patch or crack


'coz while cracking/patching..... the programmer could have caused some damage to some important thread in the app which might cause disastrous effects



it's always the best to use the keygen..... extract key and then use the original app

though i'd still recommend mini-keyboard



there is also my-kbd with many keyboards available ... it can change the graffiti area keyboard with the the status bar and all

though i do remember tht you use a TX.... my LD had blazer crashes with my-kbd


so be careful tht you are using the latest version of my-kbd

use the same iambic keygen and instructions with 0 as your first choice and 22 as your second choice within the keygen. i will also attach the keygen again for you and a number list of iambic applications within the keygen.



about your bluetooth problem, i suggest you drain your bt earpiece of all battery life. let stay for 3 hours then recharge again. then remove battery from your 650. put it back in then pair them up and see if that helps. goodluck.

Usually if you wait till the trial expires, they will nag you to register. Other than that it's usually in the menu somewhere or the Info/about section.
