It is totaly different os... Ppc is windows, in my case I foun much more apps for my tungsten c (palm os) then siemens pocket loox 610 (ppc) :p

Yes in terms of apps, and functionality, palm is better than ppc. The interface is more simple and easier to use. plus i can find more apps and games for palm with ease.

I know this is completely out of scope for the forum, but I cant think of a way to google this.

very basic and simple feature but many don't realise it:p (like me)


but i don't think you can actually make a file(copy the list and paste on a word or txt browser)

OK here a major question I would like to ask ...

For so long, I've been trying to use the BT Dongle from my comp, to share the internet access with my 680. I bought a "Bluesoleil" dongle, tried all their ver of whatever software they claim that will work, and after 2 months ... totall BS.

I followed this guide and many others to get, both my comp and 680 setted up.

i was never able to play java on palm because i thought that you could only use web URL(s) in the directory field

i tried it and it worked... although i did waste a couple of resets only to realise that uncache was enabled!!!LOL!


then i added JVM and all other files onto the uncache list and YUP! it worked

ok... so copy the keygen to the ROOT directory of C:/


on XP.. click start and then RUN and on Vista press "windows button" + "R" (this can also be done on XP)

the on the RUN prompt... type in "cmd" ... if it doesn't work and gives errors... then type in "command"

you get a black browser on which the mouse doesn't work (LOL)

then disregarding of whatever the command prompt says... just type in C:

and press enter


the type in tealscan.exe+"space"+HotsyncID



you will see a code (usually filled with a(s) )

it should be something like "aaal aaag"

this is the same procedure to be followed when using the skinUI keygen posted by me... just that you have to use your skinUI ID in place of your hotsync ID

I'm sorry to hear that you lost all your files. I don't know of a way to recover without a backup. Maybe Rogue, Lifedrive, or someone else can help you out with that one.

The Centro does have a touch screen and I like it alot! My previous device was a Sony Clie UX50 and I lived by it! I thought I'd never part with it but the Centro made my transition painless! I t does everything my Sony Clie did and much more... obviously because of the phone!

I'd recommend the palm centro to anyone and everyone!

I would have to second that. My personal Palm is a Treo 755p (I like the bigger buttons and screen) but at the sametime on my sprint account I added a Centro in January and I have to admit......The Palm OS Treo's and Centro are GREAT. You can basically do EVERYTHING with these devices. I would suggest to anyone to grab one.

It depends on what you mean as a back up. If you hotsynced your phone when you got it...thats a back up just resync your phone and it will be back to normal. If not I would suggest you get a backup program. I use NVBackup and it works perfect. If you didn't hotsync then..... :eek: good luck I'm not sure how else to get it back. But on the plus side now you don't need to do spring cleaning on your palm and you can reinstall what you use on your phone and install the rest on a card so you don't lose them again.

for correct registration codes install the program on decive and install the keygen on the device.... for the palmos reg code just type in your hotsync id and you get it

for windows...... you havta pull down the dropdown box and choose the no. 58 then you get the windows reg code

And as far as the PPC vs Palm OS. Once you try out a Palm OS device and try a WM device you will find Palm is far superior than WM. Palm is way easier to navigate the Icons are bigger for one handed operation. My thumbs are BIG, LOL. I have tried to play around with a WM Treo and I personally hated it.

On another note just a quick question..How many of you out there are using a MAC? I personally have a PC and MAC so I use both. I just wanna see how many people use Mac compared to Win and Linux.

if your talking about the tealscan keygen, then you have to open up command prompt first. on your pc go to start. then run. and type in cmd and press ok. you will see a black box pop up. that's command prompt. now all you have to do is drag the tealscan keygen into to black box. then press space and type in your hotsync name, then press enter. you should see your serial after that.
if your using vista, you can't drag the keygen into the black box like you would do in xp. so you would have to highlight the keygen, hold down the shift button, press right click and choose copy as path. now go to the black box and right click and paste it in. then space and hotsync name.
got it?

yes you can transfer your data from your card. the message is for if you had a previous version installed with data on it. it will be erased if you try to upgrade. but since you don't have a previous version installed on your device, your ok.

ok... so copy the keygen to the ROOT directory of C:/


on XP.. click start and then RUN and on Vista press "windows button" + "R" (this can also be done on XP)

the on the RUN prompt... type in "cmd" ... if it doesn't work and gives errors... then type in "command"

you get a black browser on which the mouse doesn't work (LOL)

then disregarding of whatever the command prompt says... just type in C:

and press enter


the type in tealscan.exe+"space"+HotsyncID



you will see a code (usually filled with a(s) )

it should be something like "aaal aaag"

I have the 3, Windows is the one I have used more years, a pain in the but, have to have anti-virus updated, antispyware, etc.. And I'm using always a limited user, installing with the execute as. I'm still using Win Xp with BlackBox Gui, hate the windows interface. Windows is great to install stuff, very fast. Has lots of software.

Linux I'm using Fedora with fluxbox and with Konquerer has my file explorer, its the most like the one i use in windows: 2xplorer, the best. Linux is a pain to install but no need for protection not because it doesn't need it but because almost no one attacks it. But I'm not a power linux user.

Mac is easy to install, easy to use but I still like the blackbox gui but still using the Mac normal gui. Starting to have some attack problems, spyware.

But the best is just use the 3, vmware fusion on the mac. Use the best of the 3. And use web apps like for MSN meebo.com. For web i use gmail and this way I get a clean spam free mail on my palm.

yes, some of the tungsten devices are having that problem. the sys 0505 error happens to a lot of different apps on the tungsten. it does not necessarily have to be tomtom. try doing a warn reset. then run it from there to see if the problem persists. if you still have the problem, i suggest you do a backup and do a hard reset. and only install the tomtom on the tungsten and only the tomtom,to see if there was any program you had on your tungsten that it had a problem with. or it could be a memory issue. you may need to install uncache.

you must of had it set to auto update i guess. you may need to uninstall it and reinstall it again. when you do you will have to go into the preference in mOcean and remove auto update, so this won't happen again.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost all your files. I don't know of a way to recover without a backup. Maybe Rogue, Lifedrive, or someone else can help you out with that one.

sorry you can't expose your RAM to your computer and try recovering data with file recovery softs

this will leave your palm destroyed


always backup and store the backup on a CARD or if you use an LD then backup the backup files to a pc once in a while

The Centro does have a touch screen and I like it alot! My previous device was a Sony Clie UX50 and I lived by it! I thought I'd never part with it but the Centro made my transition painless! I t does everything my Sony Clie did and much more... obviously because of the phone!

I'd recommend the palm centro to anyone and everyone!

I would have to second that. My personal Palm is a Treo 755p (I like the bigger buttons and screen) but at the sametime on my sprint account I added a Centro in January and I have to admit......The Palm OS Treo's and Centro are GREAT. You can basically do EVERYTHING with these devices. I would suggest to anyone to grab one.


you still can't use picsel proviewer (a really cool document and email viewer.... though i never got the email part right) 'coz that's a 320 X 480 app

you can't take high resolution pictures


you don't have in built wifi

you don't have a large hdd which acts as a card storing extra stuff

you can have wifi and additional space but not simultaneously

you can't enjoy the actual theater experience while viewing pictures and videos (another 320 X 480 feature ):p:p:p:p:p:p

It depends on what you mean as a back up. If you hotsynced your phone when you got it...thats a back up just resync your phone and it will be back to normal. If not I would suggest you get a backup program. I use NVBackup and it works perfect. If you didn't hotsync then..... :eek: good luck I'm not sure how else to get it back. But on the plus side now you don't need to do spring cleaning on your palm and you can reinstall what you use on your phone and install the rest on a card so you don't lose them again.

you still can't use picsel proviewer (a really cool document and email viewer.... though i never got the email part right) 'coz that's a 320 X 480 app

you can't take high resolution pictures


you don't have in built wifi

you don't have a large hdd which acts as a card storing extra stuff

Wifi, Don't need that when you have unlimited data pack and have net access EVERYWHERE, I have service..... (which is basically everywhere). Plus would rather have that option to tether everywhere with my laptop and its super easy to use with USBMODEM, favorites button P on just press P on the keyboard .

Actual theatre experience? I don't think you have that either...considering the SIZE of a theatre screen is at least 10 ft tall and the same wide with surround sound. All though I would love it if the treo had a 320x480 or bigger screen (Now I'm dreaming with the bigger screens). So basically the device is the same except for the minor differences. I really don't need much space a 8 GB card is working great for my needs. And I always have the 4, 2 and 1 GB cards for music, movies and tools depending on what I feel like listening to and watching. I believe ALL Palm OS devices are superior to any other mobile OS right now. To each his own, if you like one and not the other thats fine.

The astraware keygen has been messing up on alot of devices. you would have to run it on a palm simulator for you to get it to work properly. If you don't have a simulator, give me your hotsync name plus the name and version of the game. and i will generate codes for you.

i think you have corrupt preferences


this cannot be overcome

you need to delete your saved preferences with resco explorer and register every program again



there is another solution though

try resco backup.... it's known to be better than other backup programs

and if that doesn't work... then still use resco backup and put saved preferences on your exclusion list and then backup your saved preferences and PIM data with NORTHGLIDE UNDO which has been posted plenty of times


this might work as NG Undo renames all the databases and then backs them up.... it does not process them with source code 13 (i think it's 13... can't be too sure on that) to check for any corrupted data


you can use tealscan to check and fix corrupted DB(s)



if these don't work out for you then all you need to do is to use resco backup with the exclusion list and then manually copy your preference with resco explorer to a card


i hope one of these work for you.... but no matter what.... i would recommend you to use RESCO BACKUP

I know there are web proxy compresion sites like google's transcoder or squeezer, etc... but know makes a thumbnail of the site.

I think this is great idea making a web browser through a web page because the power would of the server like on Opera Mini and it would be capatable with all mobile web browsers because is a simple image not like Opera Mini which is java which everyone knows its a nightmare.

What do think? any ideas out there? or this has been done by someone?
