Method:
1. Uninstalled old install with clean uninstall.
2. Changed the HSID of the install file after dropping it on my SD card.
3. Installed Softick Audio Gateway to RAM
4. Used the Registration Code:32PV-XJAL-T4VS-4JWP

BAM!!!!

It accepted the code.
I must thank lifedrive-n for the insight on my dilimma.
Now I just need to get it overclocked!!!!

keygen instructions: run keygen and in the drop down box where it says application, choose QuickTake3. Then press generate. write down the generate HSSN serials, since this app uses your devices serial number to register. now all you have to do is run quicktake and register with the serial you got from the keygen.

If you search this forum I have posted some overclocking benchmark results. For me its Pxa Clocker (I haven't been able to put warpspeed working on my palm) is the fastest and the most stable. I have been using it for about two years on my Treo 650 and its works very well. I do suggest to not clock the whole system and yes specific apps, mostly the ones that don't run for very long, like launchers, keyguards, photoHQ, calenders, etc.. This way the cpu does not have time to overheat. If your gonna use a app for very long and need the speed don't put it at the fastest speed. On my Treo 650 pxa clocker should be no more than 506 Mhz. Don't let this value fool you, if you benchmark it with other apps like Lightspeed, you will notice that pxa clocker is faster even if the value is lower, just benchmark it with speedy or benchmark or any other app.

For cleaning, I use Uninstall and Clean also. I have discovered some files that can be deleted, for example if you have zlauncher, I had a file "zl_CardProgramLaunchedDB" that was 3,5 Mb so I deleted it and everything works and zlauncher created it again but now it has 3 kb. My treo lives again. If you want to test it out just move the file to your card, this way you can put it back. Other files you can delete is from Hobbyist apps, like bulter, reset doctor, sometimes the developer forgets to turn off debug and you will notice that a file like "_snozzyDebug" is in your system, you can delete them all, it grows, can be at 3 Mb.

Apt

Apt is not the Debian-linux package manager, it is an application for handheld devices running PalmOS 5.0+, such as the Palm Tx, Z22, Tungsten E2 and all Treos.

Apt replaces much or all of the functionality of: button launchers, profile managers, screen configuration utilities, button launchers, (McPhling, Multilauncher etc), general utilities (Autooff, Energy Dimmer, AppLock, myKbd macros, Event Launcher, HandyAid, InsertSD etc) and many more, as well as having loads of other amazing features never before seen on Palm OS.

All of that sits in a 36k resident program

SOMETHINGS THIS CAN DO:
set IR always off except in apps where you need to beam
have on-screen graffiti only where you need it (it can get in the way other places)
turn off those annoying system sounds, except for in your speaking dictionary app
keep prying eyes away from particular apps, but access them quickly yourself
have different colour themes for different apps
change your hotsync name and keep using those apps registered with the old name
calls up your most-used apps and functions extremely quickly
different macros for differet programs
launch apps extremely quickly by letter. Just start writing whenever a field does not have focus (see 'list menu' above).
enable all apps that require it after a soft reset
dim brightness slowly down in some apps to save energy when you're not using them. As soon as you tap, restore brightness to normal.
scroll with pen strokes either in a fixed position or anywhere on the screen
use your 5-way navigator with older games that only read hard keys usually.
disable buttons when you don't want your palm accidentally turned on
make a little diagonal stroke in the corner of the screen to rotate it
call up different applications depending which SD card you insert
setup a 'loop' of applications: use the same button to cycle through the applications in the loop.
clear a fields text with a single swipe through the middle
have a star menu with your most used apps always on the 5-way navigator and the most recent apps handy below
turn on onscreen graffiti when command bar comes up, turn off when it's gone

Apply Apt setting of any application
Send a reset launch code to an application
Apt functions: show strokes/taps, record tap/stroke, add tap/stroke
Apt list functions: list menu, field, control, form resource IDs, get screen coordinate
Misc: goto a specific form, pause x milliseconds, turn device off, reset device, trigger-lock any action (not just app launch), palm lock

Sorry just one more thing, the crack version of pxa clocker here is not functional. It disables your power button, so you guested it, you can't turn on your palm (you can take out the card and the screen will turn on but this isn't practical). I use the freeware version with a combo, powerup which starts pxa clocker on reset and manually I turn it on.

But any way, what I described on top is my experience. Please don't take this to be the only experience because not all palm devices are the same, benchmark them for yourself with the three overclockers: pxa clocker, warpspeed and lightspeed 3. Would love to see your results.

you can Benchmark with speedy, benchmark, palm pi, pocketmarks, sysint (but it is not very good, in its help files it says to use speedy).

Oh by the way most of these benchmark apps have to be overclocked if you don't clocked the whole system.

Takephone, I also tried it, very good. Just one thing, I put the skins that was on the site and some have a big clock in the middle, but I can't seem to turn that on. I do put a small clock on the top bar but not the big one in the middle, do you know how to do this, or anyone?

Yeah, I thought my last post would dissuade you. I just was giving you all the info so you could make an informed decision about it. It definitely isn't great for the faint of heart when it comes to tinkering but I guess I pulled it off! :p Hows your reliability now? I can't remember if it got better on mine with it just being replaced or after I edited the software stuff. The battery is definitely better now either way though.

Hey Blaq, is there that much of a difference between the 650 and the 680? If so, in what respect?

The major difference for me with Treo 650 - 680 is the speed of the 16 GB SDHC card. The 650 kept killing the data on my cards everytime there was a glitch in an app. 680 also seems to be much faster when searching through files on my SD card. As far as speed....they pretty much rate the same. But I can load way more apps on my 680 RAM because of the 64MB difference. There are too many apps out there to try and load them all at once to see what fails and what fails against another. But the phones are basically the same when it comes down to it. I used a 4 GB card on my Treo 650.
The limit is not always correct. You can up it.

The major difference for me with Treo 650 - 680 is the speed of the 16 GB SDHC card. The 650 kept killing the data on my cards everytime there was a glitch in an app. 680 also seems to be much faster when searching through files on my SD card. As far as speed....they pretty much rate the same. But I can load way more apps on my 680 RAM because of the 64MB difference. There are too many apps out there to try and load them all at once to see what fails and what fails against another. But the phones are basically the same when it comes down to it. Hmm, but I have lightspeed installed on my 650, so the speed is not an issue. How is the bluetooth on the 680? because I have problems with my 650. I installed audio gateway and it kind of fixed the problem. is your ram cooked on your treo? because I think that the only way that you can get the 650 to read anything higher than 2GB is if you cook it. What do you think?

Yeah, I thought my last post would dissuade you. I just was giving you all the info so you could make an informed decision about it. It definitely isn't great for the faint of heart when it comes to tinkering but I guess I pulled it off! :p Hows your reliability now? I can't remember if it got better on mine with it just being replaced or after I edited the software stuff. The battery is definitely better now either way though.

and clean uninstaller helped me a lot when I started using it.


actually i stopped using dynaclock and i still have the same amount of battery (probably more)


the MD was one big electricity guzzler

and as for stability... i don't know what to say. it's just amazing. no random crashes no random battery losses


remember when i was talking about my mysterious battery loss... i found out that happens when you have an MD which has gone bad. that's when i decided the switch


well i'll probably never do any ROM changes unless dmitry comes up with on device ROM editing. plus i also use a mac to make things worse for the difficult ROM editing.

now you don't need to do that. you can transfer both accounts to agendus mail

you see, agendus mail has an option that says receive all

if you click that then both accounts get updated.

my solution would be....


there is an application from RNS and many more such apps are present out there.

it's called soft reset.

you can choose an app which you want to launch immediately after a reset.


if you do that then every time you reset, you get taken there. so lightspeed will be automatically automated

Sorry LD but there is, I don't use versamail now, I use Chattermail (better on the battery and multitasking). But anyway to multiselect just use the blue function key on the left (or maybe try the shift because I'm not using it now and I don't have mail to confirm but did do this many times) while press the 5-nav down.

It might be a trial version feature. I have seen this with the freeware version of pxa clocker

- Send to PDA both PRCs... (PictureID installer and ToySoft KeyGen)
***Note: PictureID needs installed to RAM not SD
- Run PictureID app
- Write on a paper the SERIAL displayed on screen
- Run ToySoft KeyGen app
- Input the SERIAL on HSSN: field
- Input HSID in HSID: field
- Select (on pulldown menu), the "PictureID" app
- Click on "Generate" button, to get your HSSN SERIALs (two created)
- Enter one of this SERIALs (if don't work, try the second)

Where did you read about linux palm, havent seen anything on that; I know that you can install it now on the treo, but I didnt try it because the phone doesnt work, it basically runs as an app that blocks all others. it would be pretty cool to get all the treo with linux software, I imagine the problem would be processor and ram.

I heard about the Treo with Linus today too -- was at the Sprint Store asking if they are going to update the Treo 755p, but the guy said no they will have a Treo 800w (windows) but then will release later this year probably a Treo with Linux.

Yep, the media guide is a problem. Their is only 2 things you can do.....1 you can delete the file/app using destaller or uninstall or an app like that. Then reinstall it and hope it works :) 2 you can go back to 4.3 and that should work but you won't have all the features that the 4.4 has. I'm not sure but maybe its possible to install 4.3 and then over write it with 4.4, that way it may work as well but I don't know. I bought my copy because it is was $14 and updates for life are free. Kinoma is one of the hardest apps to get. My suggestion is if none of that works, just buy it. You can find it on sale at mytreo and handango sites like that when they have sales. If it was preinstalled do a warm reset then a soft one and open a streaming site and it will pop up with a splash screen, if you tap that you can get it for $14. Hope this helps!

If you just go to mobile.palm.com they have a title called AUDIO under it, they have a Radio Locator and Podcast locator. The radio locator is pretty good at finding streaming stations. If you click on a streaming link it should open kinoma and start streaming. That way you can look up Local stations.

the closest thing to that in ptunes is that you can save the .pls file in your memory card in the folder palm - programs - pocket tunes (if it is not there, just create one), then go to playlists in ptunes and then you can listen to that specific radio station. it works with all of the radio stations from shoutcast, and lots from live 365. what you can try is to save the .pls file for the specific station that you want and add it to your card.

Run hobbyist keygen. In the drop down box that says application, choose Pref Doctor 1.x. press Generate. there is old and new serial depending on what version of reset doctor you are using. enjoy!

well i thought FAT32 drive was supposed to be in the ROM. i put it on my RAM and all i get is reset loop despite uncache.



try a cooked ROM. it should give way better results

Sorry LD but there is, I don't use versamail now, I use Chattermail (better on the battery and multitasking). But anyway to multiselect just use the blue function key on the left (or maybe try the shift because I'm not using it now and I don't have mail to confirm but did do this many times) while press the 5-nav down.


oh probably. but i have used versamail for almost past 1.5 years and couldn't do that. because LD doesn't have the keys that you are talking about


i say only what i know with the LD. there is no way i can tell you the in and outs of a treo even though i do know pretty much about them. the only palms i have never seen till today are centro and T|X (yes believe it or not i haven't seen a T|X)

now i am downloading a torrent again which has adobe design premium (this has all the three apps that i actually need)

Yep, the media guide is a problem. Their is only 2 things you can do.....1 you can delete the file/app using destaller or uninstall or an app like that. Then reinstall it and hope it works :) 2 you can go back to 4.3 and that should work but you won't have all the features that the 4.4 has. I'm not sure but maybe its possible to install 4.3 and then over write it with 4.4, that way it may work as well but I don't know. I bought my copy because it is was $14 and updates for life are free. Kinoma is one of the hardest apps to get. My suggestion is if none of that works, just buy it. You can find it on sale at mytreo and handango sites like that when they have sales. If it was preinstalled do a warm reset then a soft one and open a streaming site and it will pop up with a splash screen, if you tap that you can get it for $14. Hope this helps!

mikey... there are a few geniuses like me who have tried such things as soon as this patch came out. it doesn't work (you will have to use the previous versions only... no 4.4 for you[for anyone, to say])

Give this a try:
- Send to PDA both PRCs... (PictureID installer and ToySoft KeyGen)
***Note: PictureID needs installed to RAM not SD
- Run PictureID app
- Write on a paper the SERIAL displayed on screen
- Run ToySoft KeyGen app
- Input the SERIAL on HSSN: field
- Input HSID in HSID: field
- Select (on pulldown menu), the "PictureID" app
- Click on "Generate" button, to get your HSSN SERIALs (two created)
- Enter one of this SERIALs (if don't work, try the second)

You can always use "uninstall manager" and uninstall and install it again. it only bothers after a while and when it makes its first pref file recovery and if you have the cache clean off it even bothers less. I just turn it off, my treo 650 is way more stable. Just like reset doctor for its pref recover but I have always a NVbackup just in case.

But if any one has the crack, of cause its better.

Yes its better in rom if you do a hard reset you won't lose it. With the ram method you have to install it everytime you hard reset.

Sorry, i keep forgeting not all palm have keyboards. Maybe that full screen keyboard for LD and tx may work. I have been using palm since Palm IIIx, Palm IIIc, Tungstun T, and now a Treo 650. I was the best with graffiti and i thought I would hate keyboards but now with Textplus (which i also used with grafitti) with my file that has 10 years of updates by me, its the best to write and long words it gets it all. I also have a english file to write in english and mine is in portuguese (9234 words and 300 phrases).

This is the first time I've ever heard of of any such problem w/ vdi...
Make sure it's vdi causing the prob by removing it from your phone (it's not like it can't be reinstalled) completely...I believe there are 4 files to remove (.prc (x1) & .prb (x3)) Obviously if the problem remains, then it's being caused by another prog...If it goes away, do a clean install of vdi with the serial you previously used and see it the prob stays away (could have just been an install glitch)

Unfortunately when I attempt to install them on my device they don't show up. I've already made sure that I place them in the "background" folder and I've verified that I installed "JpegLibArm".

Fortunately I found a program that allows me to convert images for use with Zlauncher. It's called Zlauncher Background Converter... version 2.0.1. can anyone provide a registration code or Keygen for this software or perhaps a "cracked" version?

I was under the assumption that ZLauncher (v.4.1 & later) had the ability to convert BMP/PGP/JPG file into a background image DB directly.

No there still another way go to the image where u save it on SD tap on it and drag to the bottom of the screen and the menu will popup called creat backimage or shortcut lay it there..

:D I guess it would help if I told you to look in the FIX file and copy the Options/Configurations Settings to the InvisibleIP ROOT FILE. If you don't know where that is open My Computer....next open your C: drive or whatever your HARD DRIVE is....open Program Files.....open InvisibleIP File and paste/drag & drop the Options/Configurations Settings there and your good to go.
