Hey Chew. They are members of this site that are having problems getting garmin to install on there device. Is there by any chance you can tell how you got it to install on your device. Maybe your way would be less complicated.

Kingtyce, i downloaded a program from garmin site :
www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support (http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support). under support column, there is updates and downloads. go in it then chose : Garmin Mobile XT for Palm OS with GPS 10 Updates & Downloads.

it stated that :


The Garmin Mobile XT Software is designed for use on the Treo 650, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 755p, Centro, LifeDrive, and T/X.
If you have previously installed Garmin's Que for Palm OS application, it will be uninstalled when the Garmin Mobile XT application is installed.
A minimum card size of 256 MB is recommended for Garmin Mobile XT software with partial region maps and a card size of 2 GB is recommended when using Mobile XT software with full region maps.
A minimum of 8 MB of storage memory on your palm device is recommended.

My problem just started (I think) with the new version of Butler 4.86. I have TakePhone 7.55 (064). I still don't know it has something to do with TakePhone.

I had a prob with Butler 4.85 after going out of the app, it would reset. I put then install 4.73 back again and everything was well. But right away 4.86 was put out and I installed that and no prob yet. My takephone is 7.55 (064) also.

I don't know why you think Takephone is causing your probs, I just pointed out the Favorite file is the one thing I could remember that is shared with both apps, Butler use it with keylaunch and Takephone uses it with speed dial.

Try disabling some features from Butler and see if that can help. It may be something with the keyguard which is what this last version of butler was worked on.

copy to palm/launcher :fail, create new directory in sd card also fail.:confused::confused:

If we're talking for windows, I've used ad-aware by lavasoft before with good results (the free version). http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

I used to use McAfee for virus scan, but the best I currently use is NOD32 by ESET. It scans constantly in the background and doesn't slow down the computer at all. A second choice would be Kaspersky but I haven't tried that one out, too happy with NOD32. NOD32 can be downloaded as a torrent and the crack will allow it to self-update forever (and then some).

Are you talking about Resco Explorer or Resco Viewer? Cuz the new versions are Resco Explorer 2008 and Resco Viewer 3. Not Resco Viewer 2008

after reading through a Japanaese website. I managed to install the maps. It required a program from garmin: map source.
we can not install the maps as we did in tomtom. It needs to go through map source.

We will facing problem with the map source after download from garmin because

If you run Setup.exe 1st, you will get the usual 'Previous MapSource not found! Setup will terminate' error.

so we need to play a trick by unpack mapsource_6135.exe using rar program. then run main.msi then setup.exe. this will complete the setup.

I manage to install the map in the sd card. however now still facing problem because message" can't unlock maps, make sure you are connected to your gps device" :mad::mad: Basically, i don't have a gps device. still working on the way to get through. Anyone has idea are welcome.

i haven't installed Garmin on my Treo yet, i heard it crashes non stop ....

Try this method, I sent this to marcovan and somehow it worked ... you need to DL this files called "GarminMobileXTFullImage_4***x.exe" from a torrent site.

This is how to install it in a Palm Treo 755p with the new updated software (Garmin Mobile XT for Palm OS with GPS 10 Ver. 4.10.30p as of Nov 14, 2007):
1. Use a card reader to connect your memory card to your PC, or connect phone using USB transfer mode
2. Run the file "GarminMobileXTFullImage_4***x"
(It will copy all files to your memory card)
3. Run the Update "GarminMobileXTforPalmOSwithGPS10_41030p" (It will copy all your files to your memory card)
4. Insert card in to PDA
5. Install Garmin XT (should autorun), run Garmin XT
6. Go to settings, About and read cardID, type to notepad or write it down. Take memory card out of phone and reset phone. DO NOT OPEN Mobile XT.
7. On PC run keyGen, Paste CardID
6. Click generate, copy unlock code (DO NOT CLOSE THE KEYGEN)
7. Open notepad and create a file called "SW.UNL" and paste the unlock code in that file and save it somewhere (remember where you put it)
8. DO NOT CLOSE KEYGEN
8. Select City navigator NT v9 and click lower Generate
9. Open notepad and create a file called "GMAPSUPP.UNL" and paste the unlock code from "your map unlock code" in that file and save it somewhere (remember where you put it) and keep it open.(if there is some other code inside, continue without spaces within same line. In other words everything you paste in this file will be one continuous line)
10. Select Custom mapset - code 708 (AdriaRoute), click generate.
11. Copy into GMAPSUPP.UNL
10. Select Custom mapset - code 929 (SCG), click generate.
12. Copy into GMAPSUPP.UNL
13. SAVE
14. Insert the memory card back into the computer and copy both files into Garmin folder on SD card.
15. From the other torrent "Garmin XT NA most Mobile Phones And PDA BlackJack 2 Tested" extract and go to "City Navigator North America 2008" --> "Image" and copy "gmapprom" to the garmin folder on your memory card
15. Reinsert card into phone and run Garmin XT and set GPS receiver

lol...this was my post on that site....i just added a few things to the guys original post to make it easier.

The maps have a map id of 243. (Garmin 2008 maps on the torrent site). Use this to generate a key for the maps. Than use that.

i haven't installed Garmin on my Treo yet, i heard it crashes non stop ....

Try this method, I sent this to marcovan and somehow it worked ... you need to DL this files called "GarminMobileXTFullImage_4***x.exe" from a torrent site.

This is how to install it in a Palm Treo 755p with the new updated software (Garmin Mobile XT for Palm OS with GPS 10 Ver. 4.10.30p as of Nov 14, 2007):
1. Use a card reader to connect your memory card to your PC, or connect phone using USB transfer mode
2. Run the file "GarminMobileXTFullImage_4***x"
(It will copy all files to your memory card)
3. Run the Update "GarminMobileXTforPalmOSwithGPS10_41030p" (It will copy all your files to your memory card)
4. Insert card in to PDA
5. Install Garmin XT (should autorun), run Garmin XT
6. Go to settings, About and read cardID, type to notepad or write it down. Take memory card out of phone and reset phone. DO NOT OPEN Mobile XT.
7. On PC run keyGen, Paste CardID
6. Click generate, copy unlock code (DO NOT CLOSE THE KEYGEN)
7. Open notepad and create a file called "SW.UNL" and paste the unlock code in that file and save it somewhere (remember where you put it)
8. DO NOT CLOSE KEYGEN
8. Select City navigator NT v9 and click lower Generate
9. Open notepad and create a file called "GMAPSUPP.UNL" and paste the unlock code from "your map unlock code" in that file and save it somewhere (remember where you put it) and keep it open.(if there is some other code inside, continue without spaces within same line. In other words everything you paste in this file will be one continuous line)
10. Select Custom mapset - code 708 (AdriaRoute), click generate.
11. Copy into GMAPSUPP.UNL
10. Select Custom mapset - code 929 (SCG), click generate.
12. Copy into GMAPSUPP.UNL
13. SAVE
14. Insert the memory card back into the computer and copy both files into Garmin folder on SD card.
15. From the other torrent "Garmin XT NA most Mobile Phones And PDA BlackJack 2 Tested" extract and go to "City Navigator North America 2008" --> "Image" and copy "gmapprom" to the garmin folder on your memory card
15. Reinsert card into phone and run Garmin XT and set GPS receiver
16. Use your Garmin XT to navigate


I haven't tried this yet, still giving TomTom some time ... good luck.

Managed to get the map id through M3. The garmin keygen v1.3 also has the prog to generate map id. Still working on this Garmin.

Finally, get the prog works. We need to install base map:GMAPBMAP.IMG. With this the prog, garmin will show the detail of the road for each country we installed. Done. Thank you very much for all the members help especially Kingtyce. :):)

OK, I haven't tried this out but this is reported to be the correct way:

Keygen instructions:

- unzip the keygen to your PC and install it to your Palm
- install Coreplayer (main memory, not card)
- run coreplayer
- run the keygen then manually enter the serial number in coreplayer

Hopefully this will work for you.

i don't know if the treo700 is the same as the 650 but this is what i did so u can try the same thing.
1- i Instal the Core player keygen v1.1.1 build 1600.
2- i install the core player v1.2.3
3- when u press on it will ask u the key code, that is u go back to the core keygen and click it will show u some key write it down on a paper and copy them to the core player if it said wrong key keep trying that is what i did.
Trust me be careful with the zero and letter o.

yes mobileRAR dose good with rar but you will need IBM WebSphere Micro Environment Java Virtual Machine and resco explorer does good with zip files as well as viewing files IBM WebSphere Micro Environment Java Virtual Machine

It's trying to locate a GPS reciever........You still need to use a mobile GPS reciever together with your treo 650 in order for Garmin to work.......If you dont have one, you need to get one........If you dont know where to get one, google it or ebay it..........Sorry for the bad news.

I also couldn't get lightnzip to unpack rar. Was able to get mobilerar to unpack but every rar file it unpacked was only 0 bytes? This link helped me to get mobilerar to sort of work.

It only unpacks files on your sd card. Not sure what I did wrong. Maybe it will work for you.

maybe this one might be a little easier. install LMRegV.skg and MAReg. install mocean plugin( only one plugin at a time).
run the mlicense app on your device, and choose registration.
then enter any 5 letters(not numbers) as activation code.
DO NOT ALLOW THE DEVICE TO CONNECT TO THE NET.
then choose activate manually from the error dialogue.
at the 'enter your unlocking code' prompt, leave the field blank. then select next.
your 8 character unlock code should appear. write that down.
choose cancel to exit. then install or reinstall the orignal mocean.

if you want to get another code for another app such as mtools, just follow the directions again from top. just install the appropriate plug-in from the folder.

Version 2.0.53 is out, but not downloadable online. Consequently, it's the only version that the CDMA Centro (Sprint) will allow to install. The only way to get this version is to rip it from a GSM Centro (AT&T/Cingular).

So basically, I'm looking for someone who has an AT&T GSM US Centro to strip the following files from their phone RAM, and then archive and upload these files here:

VoiceDial.prc
VoiceDial_enUS.prc
VoiceDial68K.prc

I've already got the German version working... but unfortunately, I don't speak German.

The only alternative to a NON-TRAINABLE voice app on a CDMA Centro is paying $6 a month to a company called Nuance.

I have put a lot of time into this research. Hopefully someone can give 5-10 minutes of their time to U/L these files. Your simple contribution will be a huge help the great many CDMA Centro users out there! You'd be like some sorta e-Hero.

I'm not too sure bout the centro voice dialing ( I got a 755 and my GF has the centro) but I know you can use nuance voice control. I have been using it for several months now. Just install it and when the trial is over...delete it with uninstaller or destaller and reinstall it, its has been working for me that way. Just a thought....

I do suggest you upgrade. From what I can tell, it caches a copy of the decoded ARM assembly during runtime, which means that the delay incurred when switching apps should be reduced. It's mind-boggling why this wasn't done in the first place.

Install the application and register with any text that you so desire.

I have been running this on my 755p and no problems at all..:D

What are your settings? On my 755p I'm running it at 234x2.5=585 to tell you the truth I have no idea what any of that means...LOL. But I can tell you my phone is running WAY faster than before. I was getting that 3-2 second delay (WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH) and basically I selected all the apps in the list and changed everything to lowest setting.....then I selected individual apps I need to speed up ie kinoma and put in the combo I mentioned earlier. Now my delay on the apps I sped up is .3 seconds, Hope this helps

I know butler was interfering with my overclocking so i took it off. i'm gonna try your setting and see. Maybe its ultimatephone thats the problem cause when i switch to calendar its still overclocks.

No, you should still have the latest version. The smartlib's are all the same for all the programs from Skyscape. I believe the libs allow all their software to interlink with each other and are also used for registration verification of each program. I don't believe they have anything to do with the actual information contained within a version.

Here is patched file. first install all files from demo in the download link. then copy over the patched file to your device. this gets rid on nag screen. becomes full version.
