I know we had PDAnet for the 650, but we still don't have it for the 700p. The new version is 4.02 & supports the EVDO and proxy mode. I hope someone can get this one patched since the 650 one & Treo 700p one are different

You're supposed to install with the installer file and once it's installed copy the patched file (mobitv.prc) to your palm. I can't say if it works as it only runs in TX and LifeDrive (I'm not certain about that either), my T|C lacks some library :mad: . Give it a try and let us know!

If you REALLY want to know, I'll tell you. First off, you need to know that I have the world's most boring job ever (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Mammal_Observer). So... I thought... well, there can only be 99,999 possible combinations. I used MUH to change my HSN to Matt. The kracked dude key was greater than 50,000, so i decided to start at 50,000 and work down... 6,592 guesses later and BINGO!

I actually figured I would give up before getting the right key... and I wasn't even sure it was only limited to 5 characters... PLUS, the keyboard has alphabet characters too, so I was just hoping that only numbers were used.

Its just pure LUCK that I found a working key before getting too bored. But after all you've given us (me!), I'm glad I can give something in return.

Yep. Nearly useless on my 650. I've already deleted it. Also, you can't change to any other channels but channel 1. It says the others don't exist.

Hmm... I must have done something wrong. Apparently the patch didn't get applied the first time around. I've reinstalled and it does indeed work. The framerate is still quote low, however :)

EDIT: The patch has lost its effect; I closed the app and went back in to discover I could no longer change channels again. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I read somewhere that you have to keep on reinstalling the patch. A solution is to keep the patched app in your memory card and copy it to palm everytime it is needed....If that's true, it should be enough to make the patched file "read only" with Resco Explorer or a simillar tool. Hope it works. About the frame rate it should be caused by slow internet conection. I tryed kinoma 4 in my T|C and it barely keept up with radio stations, let's not talk about video :(

I would like to thank you for all the files, like so many others, I had no idea that there was so much for the palm os.. I just got a treo 650 from alltel and am having some great fun with it now that I found this thread.

There are a few things that I am confused about.. I am a total noob so please be kind.

1. I read about people using MUH but I have not tried. What are the steps I would take to make virtual pool work? It asks for the reg code and I put the one in above and it tells me NO! lol. Will the MUH change me to MATT? and what about my other programs? will they be able to run? Im lost, sorry.

2. I find files that say xxxx.prc and xxxxpatched.prc. I dont know what I did but I got one to work(voicerec). I am still confused on how to go about installing these double name things.. Do I hotsync the original and install then hotsync the patched.prc or is it vise versa? Or do I hotsync them both at the same time and run one after the other?

3. Can I install all these appz to my card? is there a way to tell if they need to be installed in the palms memory itself?

4. When I get a larger capacity card, can I just copy everything that is on my existing card to the new one via pc card reader? And will everything work the same afterwards?

Again thank you for all the programs and help. And one day if I get the hang of things(I should being that I have a 2 year contract with this phone) I will contribute like so many of you do.

HotSync the 4.10 version. Run it. Select the app you need to use it with in the list. Uncheck 'Use original HotSync-ID' and enter the HotSync name that works for that particular app (i.e. 'kracked dude'). Hit OK. Make sure 'Enable MultiUserHack' is check. Run the app you just altered and register it with the code you have for the other name.

2. I find files that say xxxx.prc and xxxxpatched.prc. I dont know what I did but I got one to work(voicerec). I am still confused on how to go about installing these double name things.. Usually, if there are two files like that, you need to install and run the first one first and then install and run the patched one. Some programs simple require multiple files to work and not all of them needed to be patched, so only one of them has been patched. In that case, you'd install both.

The only way to tell is to check any included readme files or to just try it. Another great option is to use LinkStart. It will store your program files on an expansion card, but let you run and organize them from the main memory. This works for nearly every app. It is posted somewhere on here from the last couple of days.

RSS-aware programs called news aggregators are popular in the weblogging community. Many weblogs make content available in RSS. A news aggregator can help you keep up with all your favorite weblogs by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them.

In short, you can type in an RSS link into the prgram, and when you hotsync or do it OTA (over the air) it will refresh all of the news for that feed. So for instance wheny you go to a website you will see this orange icon which means there is an RSS feed available.

This prgram will allow you to get the news you want without going to each website. For instance I track certain sports teams (feeds are from yahoo) Google news, MSNBC, Yahoo, Beer, Nutrition, and what ever else I feel like I want to read news on. You can also see a small pic too if images are inabled, and you can download and listen to podcasts too with QuickNews.

Hey, no prob. You are very welcome. I forgot that there was an issue between the Treo 650 and LinkStart 2.2. You can always use the free version of LinkStart 2.3 until someone patches 2.3 pro. This page (http://www.vistabug.com/linkstart/) has more info and the download link.

Right, thats for the OLD version of MUH. The zip also includes the lastest version (4.10) for OS5. It is a stand alone program that doesn't need any Hack handler.

Problem I am experiencing:
Motogear (k i c k a s s game) - My 5 way d-pad is real close to the application button. I keep hitting it with my big dumb thumb and switching to apps menu. When this happens, motogear is still running in the background and I dont know how to get back to it. When I click motogear again the phone(treo 650) usually crashes and resets. Is there a way to switch back to it? like alt/tab outa a game? It also does this when I get a phone call.

I hope Im not too much of a bug,, if I am in the wrong section, point me there please?

Resco Explorer will work. The biggest thing about zipping would be if you want to send something via e-mail. I've owned 2 Treos and no need to ever zip a file. Most the time you'll hotsync, or OTA a pdb or prc file. Besides that, I keep any rar or zip in a folder on my desktop, but that's it. I guess if you kept a copy of everything on your device then yeah, but things get updated constantly, so I can't see going through that.

I mean if you have a 4GB lifedrive and want to store, you could do that, but on smaller devices there is no need.

NES ROMS for the emulator on page 66 or so. Some are already in pdb format so you don't have to convert. I already spent hours doing this on my device. So just load them. The rest you will need to convert. There are about 800 or 900 roms or so.

The file is 99mb, but its worth the wait. I waited 45 minutes just to upload it, so be nice. :)

It has an option to "Use as the default launcher" but that doesn't seem to work right. Hitting the home button from some apps will take you to explorer, but others it takes you to the default launcher. Also hitting home from inside explorer doesn't switch categories like the default launcher does.

Really too bad because it is so much nicer in other ways. It looks nicer, shows more items in the small view, and the fonts work better with FontSmoother. Also when you hit delete, or move, or rename or whatever it will act on the currently selected file instead of making you select the file again like the default launcher.

Hmm... I must have done something wrong. Apparently the patch didn't get applied the first time around. I've reinstalled and it does indeed work. The framerate is still quote low, however :)

EDIT: The patch has lost its effect; I closed the app and went back in to discover I could no longer change channels again. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Not yet. The only problem I have with it, is that when I exit, it kicks me out of Zlauncher and back to the regular launcher (Treo 700p) Then I have to click the Zlauncher icon again to reload my launcher.

Bitrate is a little choppy, and I am running EVDO, but When I tried it, I didn't have all the bars.

What would be nice is to try Slingbox when it gets ready for the Palm. Since you only have to buy the hardware, its definately worth it if the streaming is much better. Not to mention too, if you have the hardware, you can use your laptop too.

It's an excelent file manager, but I wouldn't recomend it as a launcher. There are better options for something like that....Zlauncher and my personal favorite, the always elegant, SilverScreen.

I don't like zlauncher. I prefer a cleaner interface. resco explorer actually does a good job of that with a bit of tweaking. It just doesn't handle the home button properly. Oh well.

If you want to skip the RescoExplorer-selfregister-then-download-the-new-one-and-install-it blah blah blah, I liked the program so much that I made a patched version of the latest version (2.72.2). :) I even compressed it using RescoExplorer. .:very pleased:.

Just as an informational post.....If you have registered resco explorer, you can overwrite with the newer version and it will still be registered....when upgrading, if you use the patched version, you'll need the serial or the newer patched version. That's why I like to register with the serial....more work now, but less work in the long road :D

This program will allow you to compress your movies down to what ever size you want so you can watch them on your palm. I'm converting one now and it will be 147mb. Then use your favorite player. TCMP, Kinoma, etc. Just remember what ever format the movie is, make sure your player can play it.

Why we need Coreplayer over Kinoma.

Kinoma may be good for streaming a few things, but that's all its good for.

For Audio, I use Pocket Tunes, and for movies I use TCMP .72RC1

Here is why Kinoma doesn't even come close.

I have to play my movies on TCMP .72 cause Kinoma sure wont do DivX

If we can get a patched Core 1.0 4EX, that would be a start. I know a few bugs are in it, but its at least better than nothing. Kinoma is kind of almost for the birds if it wasn't for the streaming.

Cracking/patching Tiny Tanks 1.0 or Snood v.2.0 for Palm, perhaps?

Alright... I patched Snood, but Im not totally happy with it. It will accept any registration code and wont bother you again, but on the main screen it will say 'Owner:' followed by some junk. If you have an onboard hex editor (like BIRD!!) you can edit the SNOD preference at address 04D4 (I think that was it... somewhere close to that) to change the name. Its not important, but it makes it less ugly. Maybe one of the more knowledglable folks can do a better job.

For TinyTanks, we'd need the full PRC to patch it. That one is a limited demo only kinda dealio.

Hi coma_zgb!It might be possible to get a virtual Credit Card even outside of the US. I do know that some banks in India offer the facility of creating a virtual Credit Card (eg. NetSafe from HDFC Bank) for any given amount. These are good for all transactions over the internet. The unused balance in the card gets transferred back to your Bank Account. Please check if your bank has any such facility. :)

It's been downloaded 60+ times and it seems to work with everyone else. I'd guess you have a problem specific to your device. Try a hard reset maybe?

Claw is a program with an already made patching file.... The patch file is pure text, like the one I posted. All you have to do is open claw and the patch file, apply to the prc and you're ready to go.....

Here is a keygen for AeroPlayer (gives you a lifetime registration code!!!! :D ), but it doesn't make a key for AAC plugin.

Isn't Pocket Tunes better, or TCPMP for AAC?....I mean, is there any reason to install it?

Personally I use the combination you mentioned: pTunes for music and AAC with TCPMP (IMHO pTunes will support AAC in the next time, too). But I don't have ANY AAC file, so I do not need AAC support on palm ;) .

Yes sir, it worked with mRing for Treo650....it's not too easy, but after some minutes, it just worked out wonderfully.

Also, I have a Motorola V710 that has a really cool voice dial setup. You dont have to recorde your own voice for each contact,,, it just recognizes you or whoever speaks it.
I was wondering if there is any program like that for the treo 650?

Voicedial from palm works without having to store individual names or it having to "learn" your voice. I believe there is a cracked version on the board.

Hey guys, someone made a special request for this VoIP program. I am PRETTY SURE that I've got it working however, I have no way to tell for sure. I can tell you that it runs without error, but I dont have a way to test for the 45 second limit. I am including two tests. The first program (Articulation.patched.test1.prc) is the one I am most confident about. The second program (Articulation.patched.test2.prc) I have quite a bit of doubt about. Could someone test these both and report back which, if either, work?

I don't use AAC. My problem with pocket tunes is that when you go to make a playlist, it won't sort them by folders or artist or anything, it just throws all the songs together in a big bunch and it displays the filenames, not the ID3 tags. I've got some songs that are named the same but in different folders and I'm not sure which one goes with which artist...I hate it. That's my only gripe with pTunes though. But it's enough for me to look elsewhere. At least Aeroplayer lets you browse by folders when making playlists. I like Busker but it's kinda slow on my LD and no skins.

HiLauncher is here! Thank FSM someone else posted USB Modem... I had started working on it and wasn't really looking forward to continuing working on it.

EDIT: My apologies! :( I apparently did a real $#!+ job patching this. It seemed to work fine for me (both on simulator and LD) but there've been too many problems posted by others. See post #1252 for the working version from the truly amazing wheelie!
