So I had been trying to make BackupBuddy work for me and it was a no go... no worries, fine, whatever... I uninstalled it it seemed to uninstall cleanly and no remnants remain that I can find, but and now I am getting the following HotSync Manager Message in a dialogue box everytime I start-up HotSync Manager:

I would look through your registry. Go to run on your windows start bar and type "regedit" and enter. Make a copy first, export. Than use the find to look for that dll. Delete it. If thinks go wrong, boot your windows in safe mode and import the file you backuped.

have you tried resco explorer? try to use search button.


for me its zlauncher's file manager and filez, both do two things I haven't found in others, filez for the save preference list. And zlauncher has the best created date sort for deleting does files that get left behide after a app install and uninstall just doesn't delete all files.

4 questions to you please.
What have you used to overclock the Tre 650? To what level have you done so? Are there any particlar applications oyu have overclocked and left others same or underclocked? Has overclocking affected the battery performance markedly?

I have been overclocking for 3 years now with the Treo 650, on all my Palm IIIx, PalmIIIc I always overclocked. If you do a search on overclock on this thread you will see more of my experiences. At first I used to overclock all of the system but one time I was streaming with pockettunes, had verichat working, versamail fetching mail and me navigating with blazer and I felt the back hotter than normal and the thing crashed. So after that i decided to overclock just the apps I wanted. So this is my criteria, I overclock apps that I feel that they are slow and know that if I use it for very long I should stop (But it has to be very long actually, never had a prob), this is for games and heavy apps. I also overclock fast using apps like launcher, todos, datebook, contacts, keyguard so treo will be snappy. About battery life when I never overclocked and no data connection, I would get 4 to 5 days. When I started to overclock, I started to get just 3 to 4 days. Now that I use data connection alot and overclock I get 1 and half, so now I charge every night now. Oh If i use callrec in meeting for a day or half a day battery goes down alot but gets me 12 hours.

All of them I put it at 507 mhz, I can get it to go more. I have tested lightspeed but its to crashy and also with speed its say pxa clocker is faster. I use pxa clocker, the free version. I use the free version because all of the cracked version I have found have a bug, treo sometimes would not turn on, I had to take out the card to turn on the screen. So have a combo now, I use powerup which starts pxa clocker free after a reset, all I have to do after turning on the screen it press "on" on the top. This is also helpful because this way I know if my palm crashed in my pocket. Luckily may palm is very stable (combo of uninstall manager, resco locker, apps almost all on the card, cleanstart, NO dbcache clean, nvbackup with a reset in the morning, cleanup, filez save preference list, zlauncher file manager created date list).

hey RS , nice sharing thank you. actually i was always kind of afraid about editing registry but what you just said gave me an insight about win registry so i think maybe next time that i encounter an error with registry it will be a lot diffrent to deal with . . . thanks :)

also as you already know there is somehow another way to deal with registry problems by using registry cleaners and optimizares so MattyGit you can try this also :

with PXAClocker you can overclock treo650 up to 506Mhz, but its not recommended . . .

I got an answer to one of your questions - What is auto launch unique application?

When the TreoLaincher is running you can type in the firdt few letters of the application you want for example "is" and then you will see applications beginning with the alphabets "is" only and if in my case you have only iSilo, it automatically gets launched.

Also to navigate you press the side keys and then press the centre button to select.

I hope I have been able to help you some bit.

Resco Locker is :
a utility that keeps applications locked in memory on NVFS systems. While Resco Locker can be formally used on non-NVFS systems, it cannot do anything usefull here.

Why to use Resco Locker?
Main reason is the safety. NVFS brought changes to the Palm OS programming and not all applications reflected them. (Those that were last time updated prior to NVFS release, could not.) One of the most frequent problems is that the Palm databases are no longer fixed. That's exactly the problem that is targeted by Resco Locker.

applications locked in memory need less time to load, which in turn may increase the performance of your handheld.

I like resco locker because, some apps don't like to be cleaned from dbcache, the OS and other 3rd party apps (don't use 3rd party apps, no need apps like reset doctor cache clean, flu****, it makez your system unstable, funny but its true) clean the dbcache memory (its where apps stay in memory to do things in the background or not). By the way when you use Blazer, Palm made some changes and you may notice that sometimes starting Blazer takes a bit, its because Blazer has its own dbcache cleaner. Thats how they made it more stable.

With recent apps the dbcache is much more understood and they are more stable than they were. But there is still apps out there that don't play nice. Other casea is apps that you use lots of times and there is no need to clean them out. Its like a windows harddisk, you have defrag some times, to keep apps files together.

Resco locker is trial and error app. Apps that crash alot (you can check with reset doctor crash log) you should try locking them and see if they work better. In my case, in 270 apps I have 6 locked. Callfilter because this one should be always in memory because we never know when its going to be needed and plus locking it makes it much more stable when receiving a sms and it has to work fast (I also have it overclocked). FieldPlus Notify because tealscan reports that it should be protected, so I locked it and because in any apps I may use it to select text with keys. FontSmoother, Gizmo, pxa clocker, zlauncher. You will notice that there all background apps or very used apps like zlauncher.

If you lock to many apps you will lose dbcache memory and fragmented it also. Have 6 which is about 2mb less of my DBcache.

This way its much more stable not perfect but better. This is my experience, I don't know if any one knows more or doesn't agree on this.

Tealscan has some protection but i don't use it for that and plus i have it running from the card, i noticed that when its on the main memory first version would make the palm unstable. I don't know now. When you have apps on the main memory and you don't use cleanstart (not load them on boot). They may do things in background causing crashes. So the more apps that are on the card and off of the main memory, the better you control whats running in the background.

A patch requires you to download and install a clean working copy first.
(Run the program to make sure the trial is working correctly)
Then install the patch and run again. It should be a full program then.

The Davis's program does not present any space where to enter the serial number. This regman patch has worked on Davis's Drug Guide for Physicians with Integrated Calculators 3.1, but this program asks for the serial number, whereas Diagnostic Tests does not. Any advice?

OK, it seems like the only place where you can enter the serial number is during a Hotsync operation after the program is installed on the PDA. During Hotsync, a window on a computer, not PDA, asks for a serial number. After I installed the regman patch on either the SD card or RAM and try entering any 16-digit number, a new window pops up saying "There was a problem accessing your profile, it could be that your serial number is incorret. Please enter your serial number again."

Unfortunately, a demo cannot be cracked, it doesn't have the full game build into it, only a taste. The only way to get Golden Tee is to purchase the full game or wait until someone else purchases the full game and decides to post it for everyone. Sorry. :(

Ooooh...you must be with At&t then.
I tried it on a friends centro (sprint phone) and didn't have a problem.

I would say try to install..and see if it's different from the orginal (pre-install rom)

The patch version doesn't allow you to buy the ringtone or download the track from Napster....and takes you directly to ID Song.

If it's different from the orginial...then it shouldn't cost you anything.

Whenever you upload or choose a song for ptunes to play... your ringtones will be visible also b/c ptunes recognizes all mp3s...

Your best bet is whenever you want to upload songs... highlight the ones you want to play (each song you select will be played in that order) and then hit ok.

Instructions:

Install the .pdb which is 27mb on to your :Palm/Launcher folder within your SD card and then install the .prc file to your main memory.

I think u just separate the folder, and select them respcetively..
For example just put ur music in Music folder and ringtone in other folder, next time u want to hear the music just select the music folder..

Actually what NinjaBoyz suggested is correct.... put your mp3's on your card in a different folder than your ringtones..... for example: put them in a folder named songs on your card....now when you run pocket tunes, press menu, then go to actions then press open and look for the songs folder underneath one of the categories that show up......most likely it will be underneath Album......

now the next time you open up pocket tunes only the songs folder will be opened.

Install the two files on your device
Run the mLicense app.
Enter 5 letters as your initial serial.
Do not connect to net, choose Register Manually.
Leave the Unlocking Code field blank, and proceed, and your serials will display, with the relevant app name.




Re-install the application.
Again, enter any 5 letters as your serial.
Do not allow to connect to net, choose Register Manually.
Now enter the unlock code obtained above.

Does anyone know of a Profiles program that will switch/change the picture/display on the screen when you switch to a different profile?

Allright then u seems too dizzy here..
Just follow this step:
Hit all song list button
At right top of the screen u see "all" drop down menu
Select ur SD card
Browse ur desire music folder and even if u put many folder in music folder for example there must be English songs,Techno etc.. if u wan it all just select all and all music in separate folder will be selected...

just a suggestion , i think one can submit for beta testing and obtain a working program . . . i would have done so if i had a treo or centro cuz they ask for device serial number.

I also use one of the top AVs available (& it sure as hell isn't McAfee or Norton). I've also unpackaged the .zip, scan & ran the .exe multiple times w/o any problem. This is also the EXACT same file uploaded by eon in the .rar file which means it also passed his AV scan. (Again, eon not trying to drag you in, either...just making another point.)

As far as you not thinking it's a mistake? It isn't because it's a clean file and your AV is wrong. Still not convinced? Then PLEASE feel free to go somewhere else and find what you're looking for. I, nor the rest of us I'm sure, have the time to deal with someone who just joined on to cry 'Foul' and be dead wrong...twice.

Register with any serial and you'll see a popup with a word xxx- Write it down and click ok. You'll see a second popup with a serial yyy. Write it down. Install a clean app and register with xxx-yyy (don't forget the minus!). If the popup with the word doesn't appear, register only with the serial.

Thanks, the payment reminder didnt work, it froze up my palm on the main screen :confused:, then the date changed to about a couple years, then it wouldnt work at all :rolleyes:. I then did some searching on the net and found the same program with a different name which was Multi bill :eek:. I will try this crack you sent to get the working codes. Your so very helpful and kind helping me, even though I am having a bad time with getting a code for this patricular program. I will keep you updated as soon as I get it installed on my palm.
