i installed each file for Virtual Pool Mobile seperatly on phone (part 1 and 2) and opened them up and i get an error message.
It says VPM must be installed to an SD Card, internal flash, or disk drive.
Installation to main memory is not supported.
Any help please.

how to use keygen


Install the Iambic Application/Game.
From the Palm app go to the Help menu and select About
Write down the DEVICE ID.
Run keygen
Choose from the software list below
(IF chosing 0 zero you will then have to enter the ID#)
Enter Major Version (if 11.1= 11, 12.5=12 etc...)
Make OS Choice: 1 Palm, 2 Windows
Enter Device ID found on palm > about.

MadMax001 is right. Timberland is reseting my Centro as well. But the other screensavers work well. The only one i didn't try was Coral reef...

Man is it me or all your problems fixed by Zlauncher. Lol. Thanks but i dont use Zlauncher and i really dont plan to. Is there another way to fix this?
Not realy but when talking about system and beter management I suggest you use Zlauncher.. u know what they always upgrade the vesion and in short while there will be more advance interface, I guess in Zlauncher v6..
I think other launcher like Propel or initiate also capable of moving all files to SD.. just try it and tell me the result!
Actually I'm a fanatic fan of Zlauncher! I've been using it since past 2004 I guess.. you may have a try because there have been a lot of keygen and patch of Zlauncher.. if u don't like it just remove it back...

I'd also add my suggestion:

1. Install software on the Palm
2. Use LinkStart to move it to card
3. Run as usual

LinkStart is an application manager. It allows you to move applications to expansion cards and run them transparently as if they were on the device. It may take a little longer for application to start from the card, depending on the size of application and its data, but you save precious RAM space!

Linkstart takes a different approach to the options available in some newer Palm OS versions. It creates a small link application that looks exactly like the original one in the launcher and can be treated as the original application. When this link is launched it loads the original application from card, launches it, waits till it quits, and saves application data back to card.

Hope this is helpful.

Question. I am currently loading my card with a bunch of games. I am trying to figure out how do i Get seperate files to work with the game's (prc) files. For example i loaded duck hunt. Duck hunt has two files one is the game and the other is the music. All i did was put both in my card in the launcher folder. But i dont get music. Same with warfare inc. I cant figure out how to work with seperate files for the same game.

You can't do it like that. You have to use apps that put the prc and its files together like zlauncher, zlink, linkstart, powerrun, etc... Zlauncher makes a folder on your card called "\palm\programs\zlauncher\app" and another folder called the name of the app and all files go in here. For example Opera mini, in its folder, i have its files and all the java files its needs, so when i start it, it loads all opera mini and java files to main memory and runs. Then when I go back to zlauncher, it deletes the files from main memory but if it detects a change like a saved file game, it puts this file into the card folder to be used the next time you run. I have explained this to you many times. You are still using the default palm card feature that only works for ONE prc file (more files just in some app that have there own run from card feature). I hope you can understand this?

You have to understand that NO app runs from the card. They all have to make a copy to the main memory to run. So you will have to have app to do this or only if the app you are running already does this for you (there are apps out there but they are very few). PalmOS just looks are you file and doesn't do nothing with the music file. Thats why there are apps like zlauncher, linkstart, etc... that fixes this.

The problem I originally had..was that I downloaded Richard Proenekke SCANNED pdf book ( 500 pages...)..and when transfered on my Palm, it was unreadable..and uneditable !!

I just converted it to Words..and in Documents to Go just zoomed the text..No more problems...

Thanks for the suggestion. I was actually looking for something to track my exercise, as well as my (bad) sleeping habits. I'm trying to figure out some sleeping problems. I wouldn't really be using it for calorie counting. If anybody has any suggestions regarding tracking exercise and sleep patterns, please let me know. Thanks!

i figuered out y it wont work. For some reason i use Treo Lauuncher and when i load some games in card from there it wont work, but when i do it from regular palm launcher it does. Strange.

Case in point, i wanted to download opera mini for my Sprint Centro

But i didn't know, that Palm no longer offered the JVM download

And it was extremely hard to find via a Google search

I ended up finding JVM for the Treo (All over the Web)

So i ended up coming back here and searching the threads

i'm using powerrun and am happy with it. search button......................:D:D:D:D:D:D:D



in my case with skyscape appz i put all smartlibs to my device and prc and pdb to mmc. you can try using powerrun if you. i haven't tested it yet with skyscape appz but with the other appz i have no problem with powerrun.

Case in point, i wanted to download opera mini for my Sprint Centro

But i didn't know, that Palm no longer offered the JVM download

And it was extremely hard to find via a Google search

I ended up finding JVM for the Treo (All over the Web)

So i ended up coming back here and searching the threads

I was beyond thrilled, to not only find the JVM download, but step by step instructions on how and where to install JVM on the device (Thanks for the detailed info King)

I just wanted to thank all the contributors to this board, that makes this thread what it is today

Also guys don't forget to utilize the search bar in the threads :):):)

And if you want to save main memory you can use zlauncher (zlink, linkstart, etc...) and MOVE (not copy) all the java files to the opera mini folder in zlauncher app folder. This way when you start opera mini it puts all the files you need and run and when you go back to zlauncher it deletes files from main memory.
If you want clean and stable: java leaves junk files behide. You should run opera mini a first time, do some surfing to make a nice history list and then move all the java files and opera mini to card (same folder like i said on top). Then you can use Uninstall Vacuum feature so that everytime you exit opera mini, it deletes the junk files, keeping your opera mini stable.

I have Agendus Pro on my centro and it works great, however, I would like to have another calendar that does not sync with the systems original calendar as Agendus does. Looks ok. If you are asking this is because you still don't get it. NO files runs from the card, thats why you see on start copy, which is, when you start the app it well make a copy of the app to your main memory (remember you have to have free main memory available for the app). When quit, its checks if there were files changed and will make a copy of the files back to your card. Finally it deletes all of it, like it was never in your main memory. Hope you get it now.

if you don't like zlauncher you can use its card feature, its a app called zlink. Theres also powerrun, linkstart, etc... I have just tested with zlauncher, i'm guessing zlink does it too.

First make sure that the JpegLib prc is installed in the RAM of your device (not SDcard).

Then install jpeg files to the backimage folder in your device SDcard. The file path is:
SD card / Palm / Programs / ZLauncher / BackImage

Use Card Reader - this is the easiest way to install/delete files from SDcard. (Do a search in forum - kingtyce posted a full version on 01-08-08). You just drag & drop files from your pc into the SDcard BackImage folder - no need to hotsync & move files.

When you hotsync an image file to your device, it would show up in your SDcard / DCIM folder - no hidden ZLauncher image folder! You can move image from DCIM folder to ZLauncher BackImage folder using card reader.

Hey castro the pic i had was only a sample. That wasnt anything that i was doing. i just want to figure out what options i should choose for
On Start and On Quit. I want to have warfare incorporated up and running.

The defaults are the best. Other options are for special cases like a game that you don't want it to put the recent files on your card and have a spare on your main memory. But in general the default are the best for normal use

I installed Zlauncher and am trying to put a back image on the screen. I have JPEGLib on my Palm 755p. The problem is that when I hotsync a jpeg image to my phone, I can't find it so that I can move it to the Zlauncher folder. The file doesn't show up in the ZLaucher Back Image list. I tried to find the image with file manager and can't find it either. The image shows up in my Palm Pics and Video app. I am thinking that Palm has a hidden folder for photos but I can't figure out how to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes use card reader. But you are right there is a special folder in the main memory for images. Theres one default one on the card DCIM and other where fotos go on the main memory. If you use Resco Viewer you will see this and you can move images around by draging them

I was watching a video of the new nokia 5800 (its like a iphone but with copy past and 640x??? res and 3.5 carls lens and flash camera). But I was watching the way they scroll with this thing and looked at my Treo 650 and remember once a guy gave me a tip to scroll with your finger (thumb), pressing half of the finger on the treo plastic border and half on the screen and sliding the finger down. Palm scrollbars are thin, so putting the whole finger is to much. But then I was thinking again and I'm a right handed guy but this scrolling tip looked more usable (for me anyway) with my left thumb because I'm always with my right thumb on the 5-nav and this way I could use both hands more efficiently.

I looked around and found scrollbar5 but its crap, doesn't work with all apps. Anyone know of a lefty scrollbar app. I want to test out my theory?

am not sure about this one phoenix but give it a try. install skinner.prc and other files then install skinner.patched.prc then reg with any key. i cannot test it because am using treo650.

note: this version of skinner is only supported on the treo680 and the gsm version of the palm (eg at&t and european carriers)

This may be a bit far fetched but i wanted a tv guide that can be hotsynced. I don't have data service on mine so am trying to find things that can still make me functional like encyclopedias, 4cast for weather, etc. I've searched alot for a tv guide that can be hotsynced. So, I wanted to bring something up as I am sure others have been wondering about the IPhone (I'm a big fan of Apple since I've been using a Mac since I was like 8 years old) and the Blackberry Storm. The Storm looks nice but no wi-fi is not cool.

I'd hate to leave the Palm Treo as this forum is great and I have so many apps and games for it. I have the Treo 755p and have had it since it came out, but I am wondering when will Treo come out with a new version (palm). It's killing me not to have a new phone, yet I want to stay loyal to palm.

Anyone know of anything on this front -- I imagine there has to be something in the work (other than the 800w which is out) because Palm has got to be competitive with RIM and Apple (and Google now too).

Just wanted some feedback from the smart people here -- any insider information would be GREAT.

You know what i was offered a sprint HTC touch pro by sprint business and i said no cause i love my palm treo 755p i just can't let it go cause all the apps - support we have on this forum... This forum is stopping me and moving to sprint HTC touch pro ...super great people jut fantastic....

Using Photoshop for quite a while now ( On PC )..I stumble upon a clone for my Palm..and it's freeware !

I did what one of their user said in his review..and not wanting to take a chance, i've donloaded the 1.1 version on the product website ..and it works PERFECTLY on my TX !!

i installed powerrun on my treo 680 and used it to run games via SD card but i noticed that it used up a lot of battery, i just had my phone fully charged in the evening and the following morning my battery was almost drained...is this normal for this app.

I haven't heard nothing on the palm devices. The Iphones still needs flash player, better camera, camera flash, camera focus, copy past, horizontal keyboard in all apps, more app control (not what apple wants)

I'm looking at the nokia 5800, 3.5 camera, focus, special lens, dual camera flash, tv out (play games on your tv), copy past, horizontal keyboard in all apps, carrieres love Nokia in europe (better support), web browser with same engine as safari plus flash support (webkit), very very good java support (bunch of games). Then the normal stuff, gps, wifi, acelerometer.

Just one thing the iphone has it better, the touch screen is capacited and this Nokia is like Palm, dual layer screen.

But I still love my treo 650, its still going to be my info, pim, work horse device and the Nokia a media, podcast, camera device.

Never heard nothing about that. But there are other apps that do the samething, linkstart (post a few days ago), zlink and zlauncher

By the way you can use powerhero to see if its really powerrun thats drains your battery or something else that did it, like low coverage.

I had the same problem with battery drain on my Treo 680 and found this solution from from Palm Technical Support:

If you encounter a poor battery life on your Treo 680 and you have to recharge very often even if not using the phone function, the issue might have been caused by an incorrect first charging of the device. Please follow the steps below to solve the issue:

1. Connect your Treo to the charger.

2. Remove the battery from the Treo and wait for at least one minute.

3. Remove the SIM card from the device and wait for another minute.

4. Put the SIM card AND battery back into the device and charge the Treo for at least 4 - 6 hours. Do NOT press any key after reinserting the battery. Do NOT switch your TREO On or Off either, it will do so automatically after a short time. Do NOT enter the SIM card PIN if prompted to do so, just wait!

After this procedure, which can be performed and repeated any time, you will now dispose of the full charging capacity and the display of the remaining battery power works correctly.

Hope this helps - it worked really well for me, reducing my battery drain from 50% to a mere 1% if I'm not using my Treo at night.

in my case with skyscape appz i put all smartlibs to my device and prc and pdb to mmc. you can try using powerrun if you. i haven't tested it yet with skyscape appz but with the other appz i have no problem with powerrun.

in my case with skyscape i install all smartlibs in the the RAM and the rest is memory card. in encountered that "some file missing" error also every installation of new app, but what i did is everytime i install a new skyscape app i just install all pdb and prc of that certain app since smartlibs are already in the RAM then reset my device. once i run that app after reset there's no more error and if after installing a new app and i can register i just replace the smartlibs of any new skyscape app. that does the trick for me.

There are apps that have files that grow. If you use zlauncher, you should do a "update all shortcuts" to make the zlauncher.pdb files smaller. Theres also a zlauncher file that grows (when i descovered this it was at 3mb) and can be delete and no problem, its called zl_CardProgramLaunchedDB.

Also if you use opera mini and use java just for this app, you can move all java files to the opera mini folder on your sd card (only do this if you are using linkstart, powerrun, zlink or zlauncher move to card feature). You can also use the vacoom feature in "uninstall manager" to clean java left over files.

You can clean out you phone history, in takephone, on the call log screen, purge.

You can also purge todos that were completed.

You can purg your sms database that grows.

You can use "cleanup" to find lost files from old apps.

You should always use "uninstall manager" to delete apps, its cleans better not leave left over files

If you have zlauncher installed you already have this feature.

But anyway you have to run all apps on the PalmOS from main memory, not from the card.

You can make it a bit faster, first you have to format your card:
if smaller than 4gb: format d: /FS:FAT /A:32k
if bigger than 4gb: format d: /FS:FAT /A:16k

You may have this already.

Than you can over clock the card app and the app too.

I use pxa clocker (theres also lightspeed, dynaclock, etc...), on my treo 650 I clock it at 506 mhz, the apps starts more snappy (you should to a trial and error to see what clock is best for your device, reseting right away after each try). In your case, clock linkstat and the skyscap

Actually, [to cut a long story short] I am an immigrant from Symbian OS based Nokia 3230, 6630 and N70 to the Palm platform. And while using the OperaMini and OperaMini MODs for browsing, I preferred the Java based GMail to keep a close watch on Mails. Symbian OS's allow a level of multi-tasking unimaginable, I think, on the Palm platform. For example, at the same time I would be browsing on the native browser, OperaMini, perhaps the latest OperaMini Beta version, checking mails on GMail app, chatting on the integrated messenger Talkonaut, sending and recieving SMS's and making and recieving calls. All fairly without other processes being closed or interrupted. So I do not get that comfort with Palm. But the nostalgia with GMail app on the Symbian OS tempted me to try it out. Needless to say, I am not very successful in this. The Java implementation is very buggy, with even OperaMini causing me to have to reset my phone.
Wonder if I make an sense.....:D:D

My question is this: Is there some sort of back up program that backs up texts messages, contatcs, basically the whole phone? Can it back up to the card? Would love to have something that if a soft/hard reset occurs, just click a button and everything gets restored from the card. Any ideas?

I had the same problem with battery drain on my Treo 680 and found this solution from from Palm Technical Support:

If you encounter a poor battery life on your Treo 680 and you have to recharge very often even if not using the phone function, the issue might have been caused by an incorrect first charging of the device. Please follow the steps below to solve the issue:

1. Connect your Treo to the charger.

2. Remove the battery from the Treo and wait for at least one minute.

3. Remove the SIM card from the device and wait for another minute.

4. Put the SIM card AND battery back into the device and charge the Treo for at least 4 - 6 hours. Do NOT press any key after reinserting the battery. Do NOT switch your TREO On or Off either, it will do so automatically after a short time. Do NOT enter the SIM card PIN if prompted to do so, just wait!

After this procedure, which can be performed and repeated any time, you will now dispose of the full charging capacity and the display of the remaining battery power works correctly.

Hope this helps - it worked really well for me, reducing my battery drain from 50% to a mere 1% if I'm not using my Treo at night.

“There's one glaring omission from Palm's instructions. It should be noted that if you have any apps that do anything automatically at boot up you must first disable them!!! For example, I have ChatterEmail set to turn on the radio at initialization. This must be disabled. I also have Soft Reset set to startup GoodLink at boot-up. This too must be disabled.

They tell you NOT to press any buttons or do anything during the 4-6 hour charge. Unfortunately, these auto-starting apps act as button pushers for you. So any app you have that automatically does something at bootup, whether than be to start a program, connect to the network, whatever... completely disable it, then follow the instructions above.”

I used the gmail app all the time before I had to do a hard reset. Now I use Snappermail Enterprise edition, which I am relatively happy with. HOWEVER, the biggest problems I have had, is that snappermail, or any of the others, to my knowledge, do not allow you to "archive mail, or save it with a special tag, like the regular pc gmail does. This is very useful for me, and the gmail app allows you to do this. If I am not using the gmail app, I simply have to kep the email I get, and then when I get home, go through it, archive it, or tag it, or do whatever is needed, causing extra steps and time for me. Also, on the note of stability, it is true, the Java may not be as stable, I was using the IBM Websphere, but in all honesty, I think I only had the gmail app crash once on me, and the built in web browser for my Treo 680, Blazer crasher more often than that. Anyways, I hope this helps, just my $.02

yes you are parcialy right. Using the rights tools you get multitasking. Chattermail, Snapper and the last Versamail version all work in the background. SMS does work in the backgound (even my "callfilter" app that filters my 100 numbers spam sms works in the background). They will tell you if you get a new mail without going out of any app.

Now going to the app is another thing. If you do need to go to the app and don't what do leave the page you are on opera mini (or any other app), you can acessorize it. There are some apps that do this for you. Two come to mine, but one needs the other one. If you what everything acessoried you can use "fastlaunch" (http://software.palminfocenter.com/product.asp?id=17008), by press the first letter of a app and then select it, it will run ontop and then when you press home you will be back to the app you were on. This app can be found here if you search this thread.

The other app and is also needed for fastlaunch is acessoriser (http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1674) and can be used as a stand alone. I use this one because i just acessorize the apps i know that work well and that I need (chatopus, calendar, butler, 1touchtimer, powerman, etc...) and then I add them to zlauncher launch anywhere feature. When you accessorize you are making DAs, which is like a widget that can be run on top of other apps, note just one can run on top.

Nokia has the best java platform. Maybe Palm has the worst.

There are many palm apps that work in the background like for music, mail, mensenger, etc...

There is advantage with palms way, you don't have to clean out your memory of apps you forgot to "exit" on the symbian platform making the system slow.

Nvbackup, its free and very good, it even can sync your clock and can do a reset after backup to have a nice morning start.

Sorry to hear about your brother's misfortune concerning his Centro.

Sounds as if he would have benefitted from a program called Backupman!

It does just what you requested... it allows you to backup your entire device to the memory card and then... if you encounter a problem< you can retrieve the backup from the card or... select the specific progam to retrieve.

Both programs are stable but... in my opinion, Backupman has more to offer. That's not to say that Nvbackup isn't good. You'll have to read up on what both programs do and have to offer then make your decision based on your personal needs!

One thing I might add however is that Nvbackup is offered as freeware. If you choose Backupman then you'll also have to use the keygen, available here on this site, to generate a registration code!

Either way you can't loose! Personally I use Backupman because of what it can do and the selections it allows me to make concerning my backups!

I tried the snapper mail and it gives error and resets and my card is not recognised. Had to do a warm reset to get it all back. Uninstalled it all . I had the same issue when I tried to install pRevolt. Gave me a few hours of sheer frustration and panic as I could not get my Cards readable. Reformatted them and then again. Finally did warm reset and eveything was back to normal. Wonder why??

Go to ZZtech.com http://www.zztechs.com/product.php?prod=ZLauncher and download the trial version of ZLauncher 5.45. In the Profile folder you'll find the prc files for ZL_Prof_NoTab, ZL_Prof_SideTab and ZL_Prof_TopTab. Hotsync the prc files to your device RAM. Launch ZLauncher on your device, press menu button - under App you'll find Profile Manager. Save your current profile first, then you can play around with the installed profiles.

Nvbackup or Backupman?
Which is better? Easier? Stabiler? ( I think I just made up that word) :)


I just use nvbackup because its free and from a very good developer of the palm comunity. Same developer of fontsmooth, nightmode, fastlaunch, cleanstart etc... Its stable and does what it has do do. More features don't say its better, look at googles apps, crystal clean, nvbackup is like that its small and simples and works everytime.

Good look at the features of other apps and see if has anything you need more.

Two things I guest nvbackup could do better, is turn the screen of will backup and backup in the background. For now I don't need theses features because I do a backup at 6 in the morning so, I don't every see it work.

Any backup apps out there that has theses two features, lights off and background backup?

menu + p (zl preferences) then go to the "general" tab and turn on "tab mode"

I tried the snapper mail and it gives error and resets and my card is not recognised. Had to do a warm reset to get it all back. Uninstalled it all . I had the same issue when I tried to install pRevolt. Gave me a few hours of sheer frustration and panic as I could not get my Cards readable. Reformatted them and then again. Finally did warm reset and eveything was back to normal. Wonder why??


Don't know, never had that happen. Try chattermail, theres a very good hack in this forum to crack it. Just download the last version and search this thread (not the whole forum) for chattermail, its about 5 months ago

Remember that just because a program isn't on that list doesn't mean it hasn't been posted.
Attachments are limited due to size (439.5kb for .zip & 391.3kb for .rar).
Several programs have to be uploaded off-site (rapidshare, megaupload, etc). So they will only have a link in the posting and will not be found in that list.

No i havent installed anything for about a week now except for games on my SD card. It really isnt a reset loop because the phone is fine up until i get a call or text. Or whenever it wants to. Its a single reset over a period of a few minutes.

Backup try hard reset there could be a a conflict with ringtone and system setting...
