This happens frequently to me as well. Drives me crazy. I am trying the keygen 1.4 program, but I cannot locate instructions. Do you ned to know the pattern for codes for each app and enter. Sorry, but I'm lost and can't find anything to answer this on this forum or on the web. I was hoping to avoid asking you guys for codes all the time if this worked.

Thats your save preference file that got corrupted. Theres a app that prevents this, reset doctor.

Anyway, theres 2 ways to get back that file:

1-go to your backup (nvbackup, resco backup, etc...) and look for "Saved Preferences" and "Unsaved Preferences" and restore them.

2-No backup, shame on you, go to your computer and go to the palm folder in your "program files" and look for a folder with your Hotsync name and in here look for "backup" folder. Mine is here: C:\Program Files\palmOne\CastroR\Backup
Now in here look for "Saved Preferences" and "Unsaved Preferences" and restore them. You can do it through your sd card. I suggest not hotsync it because if you don't know what your doing you'll lose your good backup. By the way make a backup of the palm folder on your computer

3-no backup and no hotsync or you hotsynced after the disaster without telling hotsync to desktop over palm, you are in big trouble, you'll have to install some apps and register others. Sorry.

Try run in safe mode (boot palm with the 5-nav pressed up) and run the app, if it works most be another app that is running in the background that doesn't let you run it well.

Yeah, you can use a program called softick ppp and go through the usb sync cable. I can't post it here because it's too big (about 2.4 mb) and I don't have a rapidshare, etc. account, so you can msg me and I'd be glad to email you.

Run Lightwav.....press the menu button and go to MP3 Ringtone......Now setup your ringtones in there.... Lightwav is a little buggy, but I still prefer it over all the other ringtone apps......If you are still having the same problem try using the newer version(the version patched by me)....

wait for 7 days see if it expires. if that will haapen then download a clean file here: http://www.ludustech.com/ludusp/

then use the attached keygen.

You need the software, DTG (documents to go), to open the file. just search for it if you don't have DTG yet.

I know this might not be the place to post this but you guys have been very helpful.

This problem happens occassionaly on my treo650:

Sometimes when I want to use the phone, I will press the red button to wake up the screen and nothing happens. About 15 seconds later the screen will wake up and any button I press will not do anything and then the screen goes back off. To resolve this, I do a soft reset and the phone works fine. Ive done hard resets and started from scratch. This problem still happens. And the weird thing is, I notice it happening only when im at work in the city. It wont happen at home. Could the location be messing up the phone? Is that possible? Anyone else have such a problem?

Sometimes when I want to use the phone, I will press the red button to wake up the screen and nothing happens. About 15 seconds later the screen will wake up and any button I press will not do anything and then the screen goes back off. To resolve this, I do a soft reset and the phone works fine. Ive done hard resets and started from scratch. This problem still happens. And the weird thing is, I notice it happening only when im at work in the city. It wont happen at home. Could the location be messing up the phone? Is that possible? Anyone else have such a problem?

TomTom Navigator is compatible with the centro......you just need to have the treo 680 tomtom update files.......I already added the 680 files to the folder.....so all you have to do is install all the files and follow the instructions....

Sorry about that....It's in word '07 format....Here it is....



READ FIRST

First install and run LightWav28Installer. Now on the registration screen it may show your hotsync ID or your serial number. Write that down. Now onto the keygen. Install and run toysoft keygen. In the drop down box where it says application, choose lightwav2. Then input your hotsync name and serial number if it was available from the lightwav registration screen. Now press generate. Now go back to lightwav and try registering with those serial numbers.

After you have registered lightwav again. Run lightwav and press the menu button. Go to general preferences and uncheck enable lightwav. Now install the newest version of lightwav (lightwav282).

I have a treo 650 and mine has 6.4 mb free. I have 278 apps installed, mostly on my card. I need to free some more memory because the big games need more space to run when they are copied to the main memory with zlauncher, but mostly run very well. It its very stable.

You might also try to install the Safeguard app which is on this forum (just search) and it will usually tell you what app on the phone is causing the reset. It isn't always 100% correct but at least it will give you some clue so that you can start troubleshooting. Hope this helps.

Does it only do it when you wake the phone with the red power button? Have you tried using another button, like the applications button to wake it? It should wake when you press any of the four function buttons (ie phone, email, calendar or apps). In your original post you said when you press the red button is when it does it.

You can try CallFilter, very complete for the purposes you have.
You can choose to block by sender, categories, not in list... choose the days and time to block, auto delete or simply to not pop up any alarm.

I had the same problem a couple months ago with my centro. I got Power Hero and then i finally figured out the network was on and never turned itself off when not in use. once i had it timed, my phone was back to normal. It could very well be the bluetooth mentioned by shivash123. Hope this works !! Go Bears!

Just to add to the two other comments. Email clients such as Chattermail and Sprint Mobile Email and Instant Messaging could be the culprit if you have those installed as they will continuously log on to the network to check mail unless you set it to do otherwise. Hope this helps.

Yes you will need a GPS receiver for our device since the Treo(Palm-Treo Pro has GPS)/Centro do not have built in GPS (WHY NOT!). I use a very small receiver called the Freedom GPS. It is about the size of a matchbook (very small) and works great. It sells for about $80.00 I believe.

Notificaions are apps that start at events like palm turning on, hotsync, etc...

"Omar" what does this app do? Its starts up at 21h

The –––hede––– group is normally the dangerous bunch, butler seems ok (but i do resco lock it because of its new keyguard). "TopAreaCodes" what does this do? you need it? if not get ride of it.

you have UDMH installed, you don't need it. Actually it slows down your palm.

Ive tried safeguard. That doesnt really tell me anything. The phone doesnt reset. Sometimes when I wake up the screen, it takes like 15 seconds for the screen to go on and once its on, it takes the keygaurd another 15 seconds to respond so thats when I do a soft reset and it works fine till the problem happens again. Like i said, it only happens when Im at work. Maybe sumthin messes up when the signal is weak? I have no idea. How frustrating!

I use callfilter (i have it resco locked). It can delete all sms that its number is not on your contact list. It can delete all sms from numbers in a contact category (i have 110 numbers under a spam category in my contact app). It can delete all sms with certain text like for exemple:

the word "shut up", in callfilter i would put, *hut up

this way if they sms has Shut up or shut up it would filter it

Check if this is on or off. this is the worst battery for batter drainage if it is on...

"BEAM RECEIVE" make sure this is turned off....

under brightness you will see BEAM RECEIVE make sure it is turned off...

TomTom Navigator is compatible with the centro......you just need to have the treo 680 tomtom update files.......I already added the 680 files to the folder.....so all you have to do is install all the files and follow the instructions....

You need a reciever without that it will not work...been there done that and all failed..

Maybe so.... I recently had this problem.....did not find out what the problems is though.....but to get my phone to recognize the card, I have to remove the card and then do a reset......Then I will have to wait till the phone is fully back on before I put the card back in.....that's the only way I got it to recognize the card.....
So I guess whatever is causing this problem is a program that needs resources from the card in order to run ....

Ringo pro needs it's mp3 ringtone player in order to play your mp3 ringtones.....you can run ringo pro from the card, but the mp3 player needs to be ran from your device ram in order to play your mp3's

I had the same problem a couple months ago with my centro. I got Power Hero and then i finally figured out the network was on and never turned itself off when not in use. once i had it timed, my phone was back to normal. It could very well be the bluetooth mentioned by shivash123. Hope this works !! Go Bears!

Just to add to the two other comments. Email clients such as Chattermail and Sprint Mobile Email and Instant Messaging could be the culprit if you have those installed as they will continuously log on to the network to check mail unless you set it to do otherwise. Hope this helps.

It depends.....sometimes you install the trial first or sometimes you only just need to install the patch.....whoever posts a patched app will most likely give you instructions on what you need to do.......

And for none centro users without gps receive, mylocation (standand alone app, not the googlemap feature which just works on centros) and googlemaps app combo works great (googlemaps has to be on main memory), i've used it on the road, it gets my locations by the near cellphone antennas, on my old trusty Treo 650.

I can almost bet that Top area is where you have problems.

About UDMH, I would have it turn off and when you use LJP turn it on. This app UDMH slows your palm a bit.

About the lock preferences, it lock your preference file (its like the registry on windows). This works well with me because a small percentage of crashs are apps that during its execution tries to do funny stuff to it. Locking it makes the update to the file just be at exiting the app (this can also help protect bad things to the pref file). I did enconter a app that works different with it locked, tealdoc which doesn't stay on the folder i leave it on, but the rest works well.

Locking it reduces a percentage of crashes, but if you perfer theses crashes and have all apps work perfectly just unlock it. I haven't noticed any funny stuff with it locked and i have 278 apps installed. Its up to you.

Then just disable it or uninstall it and install it later.

But since you have uninstalled treo code, wait first to see if your probs are resolved. If not than uninstall ringo. One app at a time, only if you don't like ringo than just uninstall it (use always uninstall manager), Oh and if its on the card than move it first always to your main memory and than uninstall.

I have almost all does apps and yes i have the problem but its not powerman but yes PalmOS has a bug that to many apps booting app makes the card mount not work well. Just install CardKeeper and turn on Detect Unmounted Card and turn on Attempt Card Re-mount.

It has a graph (app usage and time) and log of apps working in the background. I don't use it because I do what it does manualy and the network shutdown feature interferes with Chatopus working in the background. So I don't need it and plus i have a treo 650 which has a big battery

I forgot to say, I have almost all does apps (powerman, Butler, Reset Doctor). I read that its a PalmOS bug but if its a app it more one of the 3 because we both have them installed. I found out about cardkeeper on Reset doctor forum which some complained about Butler also. But the developer insistes its a too many app at boot up problem. Any way Cardkeeper fixed my problem.

I've had this problem for a certain period of time, once in a while. A simple reset (or two..) would solve it, the card would be mounted back again.
Palm bug, according to what I read.
However, this problem also occurs if you install an app that takes control over card mounting. For instance, if you have SafeGuard controling it and disable, card will never show! Too many apps have huge influence on this issue.
So the solution is having the app controling card mount on - wheter SafeGuard, CardKeeper, ...

I've had this problem for a certain period of time, once in a while. A simple reset (or two..) would solve it, the card would be mounted back again.
Palm bug, according to what I read.
However, this problem also occurs if you install an app that takes control over card mounting. For instance, if you have SafeGuard controling it and disable, card will never show! Too many apps have huge influence on this issue.
So the solution is having the app controling card mount on - wheter SafeGuard, CardKeeper, ...

Hey, I'm looking for a way to use the clipboard function I so often see in keygens (and for other purposes too). I have no idea how to 'paste' the copied keys once in the program. I don't think every program allows or uses the paste function (I myself have found several that unfortunately don't). Just tap "Menu" button when asked to enter the reg # and if it's allowed a cut-copy-paste menu will appear.

When using the search, make sure you choose SHOW POSTS!!!.........not Show Threads

To be honest, I think they need to start with show posts on the search and not show threads......

There are two search buttons on top, one thats search the whole forum (posts and threads) which is near your account name and another which is lower down under the pages, that says "search this thread" and its this one you should use

Since there are several members here who either refuse or don't know how to use the SEARCH feature on here, I think I'll take this moment to REPOST this to help out a few of our newer members.

If you know the name of the file you're looking for, go to (almost) the top of any page in this thread and click on 'Search This Thread' to search only within the thread you are currently in. It's located just below the page numbers. Type in the name of the game/app/etc. Try the search both with spaces and without. For example: 'voice dialing' & 'voicedialing'. Also, don't try searching for very specific terms (voice dialing v.2.0.11 treo680).

If you want to search the entire forum, click on 'Search' all the way at the top but make sure you click on "SHOW POSTS" and not "show threads"

You can also click on 'Advanced Search' after clicking on 'Search This Thread' to narrow the search down to the user who posted it (or just type in a user name to see everything they have posted)

Here's a really useful one... In the bottom right are 4 icons:

The first one says 'quote', click on it to reply to that message and have the original message quoted. This is very useful to all so everyone knows what your reply is referring to.

The second has '+' Use this if you want to quote multiple messages. Simply bring up each message you want to quote and click on the "+ in turn (the icon will turn red) and on the final message to quote, click on both the '+' icon & then 'quote' icon

The third icon is used to perform a quick reply...it brings you to the bottom of the page where the quick reply box is (and you have the option of adding the quoted message to your reply)

The fourth icon is the Thanks icon. If the post was helpful to you, click on this button to thank the poster instead of creating another post. This cuts down on uneccessary posting.

If you post something and realize it is incorrect, mispelled, whatever...You have 10 mins. from when it was first posted to edit it. (The 'edit' icon will be a fifth icon in the lower right of your message)

I use to use this all the time i miss it great app, but for now you can't everytime you connect to there server phone reset. I suggest try using treo weather i know it is not as good as weather channell but that is your only option...

hey me again. I was trying couple of call log programs, and the best I've found so far is MyCallLog, which is a freevy. I tried TopCallLogTool, but this is the croppiest, hands down, a no-good program.

Also, I know this has been brought up before but why is it that files are mostly posted in rar? I primarily use just my phone and with Resco Explorer I can open zip files but not rars unless there is an app out there that can open them.

The list of all the files is a black clip at the start of this forum.

I can't speak of others but I use rar because it has the best compression over zip. I know 7z is the best (so I think) but I never got on using it (maybe because few people know about it). And I always install winrar on my windows virtualizations because it can do both rar and zip. No need for a extra zip app, winzip.

Wasn't there a link that had a list of all the apps so that it would make it easier to find or am I thinking of another site? Also, I know this has been brought up before but why is it that files are mostly posted in rar? I primarily use just my phone and with Resco Explorer I can open zip files but not rars unless there is an app out there that can open them.

This is the list of all the threads for Palms. Look beside each threads subject (under the Rating heading). If there is a black paperclip icon, then there are attachments within that thread. Click on the icon to see the list of attachments. Remember that some files are too large to attach within a thread so they are uploaded elsewhere like Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc. These link WILL NOT show up in the attachments page.

Answer #2:
Most files are in .rar form because several of the .zip files were becoming corrupted either during the upload or download stage. .Rar files were less susceptible to this problem. Also, r_castro is correct in better compression (smaller files=less upload/download time).

Well if you're using a program like zlauncher then you have to get a theme that shows the bluetooth indicator on top which can be found at :

you're doing it wrong. don't copy and paste but rather drag it to command prompt.

How to use keygen:


ON WINDOWS XP: press the start button, go to all programs, then go to accessories and choose command prompt( a black box with white writing).... now locate your keygen on your pc..... right click over the keygen and choose copy.....now go to the command prompt box and paste the keygen in it and press enter.....you will then be prompt to put in your Hotsync ID......after you put your in HSID press enter......you should now see your registration key........

Is there a known problem with UltimatePhone and Phone Technician? Ever since I installed Ultimate Phone on my Centro, the ring tone sound keep going off, making me miss calls. When I choose mp3 ringtone for calls it never plays even though that for sms works well. ANY help will be very much appreciated.
