I think pictureSMS can do that......but we don't crack that software....you will have to buy it........

I just recently had a big problem after trying to install VoicePlayIt, whereby the application button (bottom left) alsways caused a reset, and I had no real way of accessing applications. This same thing happened once before when I tried to install SayIt on my TX. Both times I was forced to do a hard reset--nothing less fixed the resetting issue. I managed to reinstall everyting satisfactorily (what a nuisance!) except Garmin Mobile XT (which had been working great, though it did not work after the reset. I entirely uninstalled it and reinstalled it according to instructions, which worked before. But this time, running the Mobile Xt software only gives me the message that I do not have enough memory in the db cache to run xt. I used Resco Explorer to flush the db cache (which showed plenty in the cahe anyway), i did a soft reset, and every time the same error message. I have 34.9 Megs free in the device memory...Anybody have any ideas why I repeatedly get this annoying message? I'd appreciate any suggestions. I loved the Garmin on my TX!

I think it has memory problems running on the TX....... for you to run without any problems you may have to do a soft reset before running Garmin.........That means after the soft reset you cannot run anything else before running Garmin.......Hope this helps.....

Thanks for the response King. Actually, I tried that, and/or a db cache flush too, just before using garmin. Nothing helps...still the message about having too little memory in the cache.

And I always used Garmin up till this morning with no errors at all, no matter what else was running recently. Overnight change.

Could it be a conflict with some other software? Hard to tell, I guess, but are there any likely suspects? If you can help me with this, I'm etrernally your fan :) Not that I don't owe you a lot already for learning from your advice to others.

First off have a daily backup, this way after something like that you can go one day back. I honestly do a cycle of two backups, sometimes i need the day before the before day, lol.

Second, maybe you need a memory cleanup, install cleanstart and put just the apps you need that work in the background, apps that are needed at boot. Ok this should lower your dbcache at start.

Than I would uninstall with Uninstall Manager the trouble app and install it again. See if that helps.

Report back for some more ideas. Good Luck

You might also install Safe****d. With it you will be able to get an idea as to what program might be causing your resets. It will report on what program it thinks is causing the problem with a degree of probability. Then you could try uninstalling that program before putting Garmin on your TX. As others have mentioned, do backups often (Resco Backup allows scheduled backups) and use Uninstall Manager (install/uninstall one app at a time) when installing and uninstalling so that if you uninstall an app every piece of code is removed.

:D:D:D Ha ha! I know how that goes. I had this game GrandPa's Challenge or something like that (Which I haven't beaten by the way), and this just scratched the hell up of my screen.

Although I cannot help you with what you want, I can help you by recommending you a screen protector which you can get from any cell phone retail or repair store. You can get a 3-pack for like US$10 or $15 bucks. This is the next best thing I could have "BOUGHT" for my centro (besides my silycone case cover).

As a matter of fact, these are the only two things I have bought for it. All the other accerories, the good guys from this site have provided me with them. But shhhhhhhhhhhh!! Let's keep it a secret.

Thought I'd report back that I solved by GarminMobile XT problem, and so thanks to the suggestions of king and r_castro. It took a couple of hard resets to get there, since I had no backups from Resco Backup, not having had the sense to install these before. It's true--the are more thorough than the HotSync in restoring programs back to life after the hard reset, so silly me for trusting the palm software. To all those who don't have the Resco Backup installed, do so immediately--I am now a convert!

A couple of random general things to add: I have seen in several posts people complaining about the unreliability of Card Export 2, compared to Card Reader or other software. I have both, and actually prefer the Card Export for ease of use and speed. But I did have it fail on me several times, as others have, giving me an error message that said something about not recognizing a "host ID" or something like that (I haven't seen the exact message in months). Apparently the error can come, among other circumstances, if you disconnect card export before it is complete a file transfer.

If others are having the same problem, I thought I would share a quick and easy solution I found after extensive net searching. Using Resco Explorer, Tap on Control Panel on the left, then under Unsaved Preferences, do a search for any files that appear in the new window, with pusc or pusb under the heading Creator, and delete those files. Then magically, Card Export works again!

Also, while my Garmin software was not working, I did a search for alternatives, and found something neat called amazegps (www.amazegps.com) which is completely free. It sadly does not seem to have an option for palm os yet, but perhaps if they get barraged with requests, they will pull through...they seem to have new platforms being added from time to time. I installed it on my blackberry curve (8320), and I can vouch that it works great, and looks great too, especially for freeware. It doesn't use installed maps like the garmin, though, so it requires a data connection for maps, which can be both an advantage and disadvantage I guess. Still prefer my Garmin, though, so thanks again for the help, guys.

After our message I downloaded the app from mytreo.net, and also SMS No limits. And I got to tell you - please, please, (I repeat), please don't use these on a centro. It'll scare you if you do, it resetted my phone several times, and at one point it didn't restart. Anyways, at one point it gave me enough time to get to Uninstall and delete them. phwwww! It was close...

I think it happened when I was receiving a text from somebody, and when I pressed the SMS button, it just got crazy on me. I send one text, as well and it didn't add it to the sent window or to the sender chat window.
..

Anyways, I appreciate the help. I wellcome more suggestion if anybody can recommend anything else.

Never mind, SMSPager doesn't do what I want, which is to send and receive SMS with more than 160 characters on one text message.

I appreciate anyothe solution. I saw at the Palm website, that, I think it was Verizon users can log in to a website and change some number from 1 to 10 and it will allow the phone to receive and send sms with more than 160 char. But I am not a verizon user; I am not even in the US!

I think it's a problem with the software....... even without the patch, if you register the trial version with a serial it freezes up.......

why not use another dictionary....... go to Beiks.com and choose a dictionary and download the patch on this thread......

Try opening hotsync manager on your pc...... go to applications and uncheck datebook for now and run hotsync again......see if that helps......

remember when installing the files of a new dictionary, not to install the bdicty file......only install the database files, because the bdicty file will overwrite the patch file.........

OK......you will have to do a warm reset........now uninstall both backup buddy and resco backup and then do a soft reset.........after everything is back to normal, reinstall resco backup......

remember not to have more than one back up program on your device or else they will conflict and give you resets......

Well King answered you already...

Make sure you use resco locker to lock it in memory if you are going to use it for prolongued periods. It reset my phone and a friend of mines' when we used it for periods longer than 10 or 15 mins. By locking it, it has never done it again thought, I am not really sure if it worked for my friend...

Its freeware and you can download it here http://www.resco.net/palm/locker/downloads/RLock.prc

You can resco lock other apps that may currently be giving you trouble as well, or those commonly used, or used in the background but not locking properly on memory (the app will signal these with a "!"). A good combination of locked apps will give you a more stable treo, ****anteed (not making propaganda here guys, I am just happy I came accross this app and its thanks to you guys!)

This is the freeware version, it will find corrupt files. Than the rest is by hand, just delete the files or copy and past to new one and delete old corrupt data.

I think tealsafe also helps, just the first tab on top, the rest if you don't know what you are doing can ruin your device. Please backup.

Please follow the below steps to resolve the issue:

1. Download and install FileZ from www.Palmgear.com (http://www.palmgear.com/) or http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/filez.shtml (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/filez.shtml) .

2. After installing the software on your device, Launch FileZ and tap on [ View and Edit Files ].

3. Open the Internal folder and tap [ pmTraceDatabase ] to put a check mark beside the file.

4. Tap [ Details ].

5. Tap on the “Attrs” tab, uncheck the “Backup” attribute then tap [ Save].

6. Now go ahead and perform a HotSync

I did a hard reset recently. I get the following error message after every hotsync now:

I have always used Blazer for web browsing on my Palm. Then, the other day I download Opera mini and get it up and working. I knew that YouTube.com was not accessible when using Blazer, but I thought it would work with Opera. So, today I am browsing on YouTube using Opera and try to open a video from the inauguration on Tuesday and get a message on the screen that says something to the effect "You do not have the correct Java something installed...click here to download it" I click on it and it takes me to the Adobe site and gives me a message "You are using an unsupported platform".

I guess my question is how can I make this work...or does this definitely not work?!?

After our message I downloaded the app from mytreo.net, and also SMS No limits. And I got to tell you - please, please, (I repeat), please don't use these on a centro. It'll scare you if you do, it resetted my phone several times, and at one point it didn't restart. Anyways, at one point it gave me enough time to get to Uninstall and delete them. phwwww! It was close...

I think it happened when I was receiving a text from somebody, and when I pressed the SMS button, it just got crazy on me. I send one text, as well and it didn't add it to the sent window or to the sender chat window.

Anyways, I appreciate the help. I wellcome more suggestion if anybody can recommend anything else.

Yep, totally, currently the version you would download from that link I gave you is 1.30.XX. Starting from version 1.2, the application supports Palm T|X. You can read it from http://www.resco.net/palm/locker/

In there you will find that most application developped prior to 2004, more than likely you will need to lock them to memory; I think Hot Hangman is one these....

I think I was the one that messed up thou. I think I found the reason why. I had a trial version of another shareware app, that does the same thing, I thing there was a conflict with that...

Please follow the below steps to resolve the issue:

1. Download and install FileZ from www.Palmgear.com (http://www.palmgear.com/) or http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/filez.shtml (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/filez.shtml) .

2. After installing the software on your device, Launch FileZ and tap on [ View and Edit Files ].

3. Open the Internal folder and tap [ pmTraceDatabase ] to put a check mark beside the file.

4. Tap [ Details ].

5. Tap on the “Attrs” tab, uncheck the “Backup” attribute then tap [ Save].

6. Now go ahead and perform a HotSync

Hey an additional question, I remember someone asking something like this, but it never got answered: Is there a good call and sms counter or log application? I've tried MyTopCallLogTool, and it sucks to hell, unless I did not explore it deep enough. I think I have tried another one, but I cant remember its name...

Anyways, the one I am using right now is MyCallLog, its a freeware, but it works fine to keep track of my minutes used, its pretty accurate, but it doesn't count SMS, so I have to contacting my provider for a balance. Plus, if I delete contacts or logs from the default phone app, it kinda gets screwed up.

Hope to get some tips

yes there is.....On your computer, copy the palm/backup folder somewhere else (just in case..so you won't loose anything) and remember where it is. Now delete the backup folder in the palm directory. Now hotsync. It should work.

Yes, ist's a TomTom Problem. It happens after installing new maps. The problem is, that the sync-process cannot see the difference in the usage of small and big letters in filenames. Look at the "F" and "f"! ;) in your files:

ny_ct_nj-3F072991_mac.PDB
Hotsync try to backup a file, but it was already there!
You have to interrupt the Hotsync process and delete one (!) of both file in the directoy "C:\Program Files\palmOne\MJ\Backup". Try to delete the first one. If it doesn't work - try the other. :)

Yeap its tomtom:

The work around I'm using for my sync problem (until TomTom provides an update) is to turn off the backup attribute on two of the following files (I used FileProg for this). These are located in palm internal memory. The first two seem to reflect the name of the map that was synced first.

I arbitrarily picked the ones with the capitalized F and M. The first time I synced I got only 2 errors and the next time there were none. Admittedly, I am not backing up some data but I can't imagine why TomTom is creating files with such similar names. Besides, because of the overwrite, I was ending up with only two backup files anyway. I'll let you know if I experience any change in Nav 5 performance.

Doesn't work, it only works with flash capable browsers. On the Palm you'll have to use Coreplayer or Kinoma if I'm not mistakin'. But its not browsing the web, coreplayer goes to the youtube site and gives you a list.

You might stick to (I know, not "or" but "and"...):
-> MinutesPlus, like RCastro stated: it's configurable and you can even change the appearence of the calculation and statistics screen to a very personnal style; you´ll be able to take control of costs, too;
-> MyCallLog: performs the per contact information you want and displays, by request, many possibilities of calculation: incoming, outgoing, missed, by day, month or other;
-> Finaly (!...), you have to install TotalHawk to control your SMSs (it will also give you stats on spent minutes): control costs, get monthly and dayly views, set alarms for limits...
Now, I know you did not ask for it, but if you wish to control your data traffic or plan... then go to CostControl, it is old but the best out there.

I recently came across called TreoInfo which adds the signal strength in numbers for the standard launcher and also for LauncherX. Is there any which we could add on the battery level as a numeric.

Zlauncher will show the battery charge as a bar graph or as a numeric percentage. As far as the signal strength as a numeric, I don't think Zlauncher has an option to show the signal strength on the main application screen or at least I haven't found that option. Anyone else know if Zlauncher will show signal strength?

yes there is for battery. Zlauncher, 2day, bulter keygurd, other keygurds do that

The unlock code for Mark failed (Ihaven't tried for the other yet, because on the page where the unlock code is entered, it uses a "Device Code" instead of HSID. The Device Code is: AJEBHHTF9HT1

OK, with chattermail there is no need for a patch. First download it from the website, directly to your phone in RAM. Open chattermail and set it all up. After that HIT the menu key (to the right of the ALT key on keyboard) go over to Pref (Preferences) and scroll down to Console...select that. Then on the line put in

oldserver mypalm%

Basically its "oldserver+2spaces+hotsync ID (name)" % right after your HSID

then it will give you a set of 3 codes, use the code thats 5 digits long....I believe its the middle code, write the codes down. Close the window and now go to REGISTER and put the code in. Once you put the code in and press OK it will not check it you have to force chattermail to check your mail and you will either get a REG Successfull or not valid screen.

You can always try Mundu it does the same thing....If your looking for an MSN Messenger application or google chat, like IM+ search for Mundu IM...

I tried a patch but I can't test it out until the 30 days....... If you can test it for me........ oh yeah it's the new version....

Here is the trial of MD Titler patched........ there is no field to input a registration.....It is a demo with limited time......so I removed the nags and removed the expiration......

You will also need OmniRemote installed on your device for this to work......

You can use Powerman. It has a default profile called games and you can tweak it to turn off keyboard lights. With Butler (keylauncher) you can assign a letter to this app, i use the letter "p" on my Treo 650. The profile can be turn on for a certain duration also or at a certain time or by user request.

I use PDANet for this. I use the bluetooth option but you can also use a cable instead. It works pretty well and if you have a 3G connection it is relatively fast. Hope this helps
