Help! I installed "SynchWizard v1.9.9 patched" on my WinXP desktop & configured SynchWizard for USB & did the "Connect to device on USB". It goes through steps 1 & 2 (initiating Hotsynch). Hotsynch finishes & quits normally, but #3 (Device detected! (ready) doesn't finish.

Any help as to my problem? Thanks all!

I think that's a driver not properly installed........ restart your pc and try again......

Kingtyce, I restarted my pc & tried again, but it still won't find my centro. And if I have any of the Hotsynch items checked for backup such as calendar, memos, address book, etc. it freezes my whole computer (pentium4 3gh). I have to manually crash explorer just to unfreeze the pc.

Of course!...for 3 months now...no problems using Hotsynch...just when trying to use SynchWizard.

I just installed synchwizard to my pc...... It recognized my palm..... and I did a hotsync with no problem....... I am using the same centro as you.....I don't understand why my centro is being detected and yours is not? I also used a 700p with no problem......

Try running SyncWizard as administrator......then in menu choose options then connections and choose usb....... then in options again choose detect usb connections and see if that works.....

I am always logged on as Administrator. It just isn't working. I don't understand what is wrong...Hotsynch works fine apart from this program.

Are we talking about Vista? if so, I remember hotsync doesn't work very well, I think they never fixed that? To get around this, just install VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) which is free and install windows xp on it than install hotsync in there (in any virtualization don't forget to install its integrate tools so it will work better). Should work very well. I do it, I've got a mac as the host and have hotsync install in a virtual window xp, I'm using Vmware Fusion 2. Hotsync works better with admin account but no worry windows xp will start a admin by default :p

It makes your palm/centro SD card appear as a drive on your computer so you can transfer files back and forth. You won't need to remove the card. There is an app called CardReader. With HotSync cable attached to my Centro running the app causes my Vista PC to mount it as another drive. Then moving files back and forth is a breeze. - You might want to check that out.

wich translates the complete interface into dutch, wich he can read.
I cannot find the proper Piloc files for the Treo,
because there is none, on there site there is one listed

i think the latst version is 3.81 but since you have 3.72 then try this. said to work on treo680. goodluck.

If you have a Treo 680 I would suggest doing the following:

1. Download from http://piloc.penreader.com (http://www.c4pda.com/redirector.php?url=http://piloc.penreader.com) the "Lite" version for the desired language. (Deluxe Lite does not work)
2. Install the attached here Piloc 3.6 and the language file you have.
3. Do not enable after install Piloc 3.6 just enter the serial from the old keygen (the universal keygen dated 2004) and quit if the serial is accepted, if not warm reset and delete Piloc.
4. Warm reset and install the attached here Piloc 3.72.
5. Do not enter any serials any more, try to enable Piloc if it switch the language to the desired one and under the "Device Flash ID: ******** " is listed and the serial "S/N: ******** " you are good to go. If not warm reset and delete Piloc.


Remember 3.6 will crash Treo 680 so do not enable it or do warm reset if you enter into reset loop.

That is the only way I found to get different language support on my Treo 680.

Is Resco Backup the BEST backup utility? I will try CardReader, but I REALLY want a program that I can access my Centro AND SD card from my WinXP SP2 Desktop computer. I tried Palm File Browser (I get a "can't open port" error) & I also tried SyncWizard, which can't find my device on USB.

Kingtyce had no problem with SyncWizard on his Centro690, but he is using Vista Ultimate & I have WinXPSP2.

In SyncWizard under options/connections did you check compatibility mode (USB)??...........try checking that......

The problem is safe****d...... I used to have installed on my device and I started to get alot of resets...... I uninstalled it and I had no more resets..... safe****d is no good

If the resets persists after safe****d is uninstalled, then it already have done damage......you will have to hard reset and install everything over again.........

The app uses your device code to register.....so I can't generate a code for you.......you will have to use the keygen on your palm so that it can use your device code to generate a key for you......

I am going to have to wip my HD clean of everything and that means all my stuff from hotsync manager and palm desktop. My concern is when i reinstall all my programs will i be able to install hotsync manager and still hotsync my phone with no problems or will my phone lose all data because of the clean install. I suggest you go to your (before cleaning) pc > MyComputer > C (or main disk letter) > Programs. There you should find a folder called Palm (or PalmOne) - backup that folder (it may be a big one...).
Then, on the clean pc, reinstall hotsynk and copy the folder you backed up to the same location.
Please remember that you might have palm apps that have/create their own desktop apps/folders - for those, you may have the same procedure.
This will mantain your device as it is now in the next hotsync.

eon, I'm not using muh. I use ZLink 1.0 (is there any other version?) but - let me tell you - I tried every download I could of Zlink to see if the problem was in that... no; I installed an uninstalled... no way. I use it mainly to have direct links to documents, which is a function I do not seem to find on any other app.

PS: If you like you can use resco backup pro . Backup your phone to SD card and you can re-formatt your pc or new pc and just create a hotsync with same HSID you had and you will have a backup of your phone onto your new pc....

Is Resco Backup the BEST backup utility? I will try CardReader, but I REALLY want a program that I can access my Centro AND SD card from my WinXP SP2 Desktop computer. I tried Palm File Browser (I get a "can't open port" error) & I also tried SyncWizard, which can't find my device on USB.

Kingtyce had no problem with SyncWizard on his Centro690, but he is using Vista Ultimate & I have WinXPSP2.

Any suggestions?

Here's what I did....

First I Opened the file bolvanka.reg with notepad.

It listed the subjects:

Ok here is what you have to do.......

after you run the keymaker it gives you the 3 files to change.....they are labeled a1 (6204), a2 (2028), and c (6258).........

now right click over the bolvanka file and choose edit........ you will see some lines that you can edit...... for example..

@="11111"

you are going to change that line to.....

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PocketDVD\OutputConfig\ a1]
@="6204"

you will do the same for the other two files......after you finished changing them, choose file and press save.......

now instead of right clicking the bolvanka file you are going to double left click the file and have it save itself in the registry.......

That's it ...... you should be registered now......

The problem is safe****d...... I used to have installed on my device and I started to get alot of resets...... I uninstalled it and I had no more resets..... safe****d is no good

If the resets persists after safe****d is uninstalled, then it already have done damage......you will have to hard reset and install everything over again.........

That's what I did......

I have said in the past here that safegurd isn't very stable. I prefer the manual way. Use Palm Internals and If you like post the alarms and notifications here and we can help.

You can also use resco locker for some apps to lock them in memory, call blocker would be a app i would suggest. I use callfilter and have it locked in memory.

Hey everyone. I'm currently in the process of building a pc and im stuck in a dilema. I am going to have to wip my HD clean of everything and that means all my stuff from hotsync manager and palm desktop. My concern is when i reinstall all my programs will i be able to install hotsync manager and still hotsync my phone with no problems or will my phone lose all data because of the clean install. Do i need to back anything up? If so what. thanks for the help people.

In the hotsync app, in the custom option, go throw all conduits (that have the option) and select handheld overwrites the desktop. After the hotsync go back and check if its back to synchronize files.

As I mentioned earlier, if you want to access files that are on your Centro SD card you can use a program called Cardreader. It is available here in the forum, just search using cardreader as the keyword and click on show posts not show threads. This program makes your SD card on your Centro appear as a drive on your PC. You can then copy files from your card to your computer and vice versa. This will also allow you to install apps to your Centro by moving the prc file to the /Palm/Launcer folder on your Centro, no need to sync to get it there. I'm not sure what you mean about modifying files on the card and PC. What exactly do you want to do with the files?

oke guys little update for Piloc 3.71 for Treo 680,
but important one because i hat troo majour problems:

1 was never able to get program registerd, do not why but
the generated key was never accepted by the program.



2 i could never bypass the reset-error bij pressing the volume hard
side keys . Every time i would touch those two keys
after the program was activated it would reset itself.
so program was totally not suitable for treo 680

BUT....

now with this site, it Fanally WORKS GREAT !!!!!!

do these step's and it WILL WORK, be registerd and DO NOT CRASCH for TREO 680.

1. Download from http://piloc.penreader.com
the "FULL" version for the TREO 650,
And then your desired language file, but this from version
TREO 680 (so only the language file from 680 light and the Full
file from the 650)

2. So now Install 3 FILES in two steps:

1) the language file you have *.prc
2) the Full.prc
3) the Piloc.patched.prc from attachments from Forum

3. Enable after install Piloc.patched
(NOT the 3.6 ; actually piloc.patched is version 3.7)

you can only enable the : System language translation at this point.

4 Acivate the interface translation,

5 Enter serial, just enter the serial from they keygen
(read out your language file, and create a key)

SO NOW it wil show up as:

REGISTERD with S/N listed
(DUTC-AAAA-AARM-441046-DCLPCL in my case, DUTC for the dutch language file)

oke so now you have your application up and running and working
chech it everything will be translated BUT if you touch either
one of the two volume keys, the screen wil Freeze and Treo will reset!!!

I love this app, cardreader. This app is one of the apps that is well made, if your using the app and go out of it, it asks you if you want it to work in the background (take that windows mobile and symbian for a well made multitasking app). There is a exception (where it should be) if you get a call it goes into background mode automatically.

I also use Syncback (freeware for windows, lots and lots of options and great to backup to a linux backup server) or SyncToy (freeware from microsoft, i use echo mode) to sync my card to my computer. A 4gb card can take some time but with theses apps it just copies the changed files (just takes a long first time backup). Remember if you have a palm backup app it is also backuped up to your computer (because its on your card), so you get card and palm device backup, can't get better than this.

I use them for backup but you can use them for syncing, all the files you put in a windows folder will be synced (by your request) to your device. You set it up like you want it

Strange? I just grabbed my 700P (no longer used). Grabbed my Centro + Sync cable... and plugged (the centro) sync cable it into my 700P. Hooked the P up to the PC... no problem... 700P started charging too!....
(I didn't try a sync because my PC is set up for the Centro - don't wanna mess stuff up!!)

FYI - There are two different types of sync cables.. I have one where, the end that plugs into the PDA, is slightly bigger/longer to accommodate plugging in the power cord... but the part that actually plugs into the phone is the same...? Could this be what you are seeing?

Anyway.... interchangablility of the sync cords works for me!

I use Backup Buddy to backup files on my Palm to its SD card. I then use Blue Sync to backup my card to my desktop during hotsync. That way I have a backup on my card should something happen on the road and a backup on my computer in case of any other unforeseen problems.

I backed up the entire Palm Os Desktop folder under My Documents. Then on the new computer I did a fresh install of the Palm Desktop FIRST! then copied over the files from the first computer. That way all the necessary conduits and dll's are preloaded then the saved files change them to how they are configured now. Don't forget to check in Program Files and C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserID\Application Data for any extra files.

Those are the same cords .... the one on the left is USB only and the right is USB + AC CHARGER. The AC Charger snaps on the back right space. Maybe the centro only charges by USB only.

I had both for my 680, the new one type sucks .... I snapped mine and got the one on the right off ebay for $4.99 w/ shipping.

Pda Reach works perfectly on the centro.......


I dont know of another software that does that. but luckily there is an update to pda reach. it supports the 755p and even the centro. you can also change the skins of the program to suite your device. Here it is with crack.

Usually when I pop open slingplayer on my treo, it would ask me to install the new version. But now it's not asking me or that automatic prompt is not popping up. Hmmm.

Once it does I will then install that and then put this patch over it.

Yea you need a sling box set up at your home or whereever, then you can get all the channels you have on that tv.

To get around this, just install VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) which is free and install windows xp on it than install hotsync in there (in any virtualization don't forget to install its integrate tools so it will work better). Should work very well. I do it, I've got a mac as the host and have hotsync install in a virtual window xp, I'm using Vmware Fusion 2. Hotsync works better with admin account but no worry windows xp will start a admin by default :p

As I mentioned earlier, if you want to access files that are on your Centro SD card you can use a program called Cardreader. It is available here in the forum, just search using cardreader as the keyword and click on show posts not show threads. This program makes your SD card on your Centro appear as a drive on your PC. You can then copy files from your card to your computer and vice versa. This will also allow you to install apps to your Centro by moving the prc file to the /Palm/Launcer folder on your Centro, no need to sync to get it there. I'm not sure what you mean about modifying files on the card and PC. What exactly do you want to do with the files?

There only one thing i can think off try to unistall the application and change your HSID to 5 letters minimum and try it.....

It sounds like these two files did not get written into the Windows registry. If you are familiar with the registry you can search it to see if these files are installed in the registry. I searched my registry and those files are in about 3-4 places in the registry. If you are not familiar with the registry let me know and I will tell you how to search it. What I would recommend though is that you uninstall PDAReach from your PC and try to reinstall. If that doesn't solve the problem, these entries can be written to the registry manually but I CAUTION you that messing with the registry can cause serious problems with your PC if an entry is incorrect. Searching will not cause problems but changing it can. You MUST make a backup of the registry first.

While on the takephone screen......press menu button, then choose options, then preferences, then press the arrow in the drop down box that says find and choose Plugins in "Find" screen...... at the bottom of that screen you can choose which clock you want to show up on the takephone skin......

You can change the color of the text through the menu within ZL.......but I don't use ZL anymore so I can't remember.......

Under ZLauncher, just go to Menu > Tab > Tab Properties > Color. There you find a box named "Text". Click right on the left of it and you'll be prompted to the color palette. Just pick the color you like for you text!

Just go to the Tab Propreties (menu + t) and select the color tab. You will see the fifth option is text color. Oh by the way you should also fix the shadow color (shadow of the text) so it will look good, normally black is good. Than after all this and the color is right, just press on the bottom "CHGs>ALL" so zlauncher will change all your tabs, but if you want to change just that tab than just press "ok"

you need a card launcher app, like zlauncher (which i use), zlink, powerrun, linkstart.

With zlauncher after installing opera mini and running it once and surfing at least one page. Press on the icon in zlauncher until you see a menu and select move to card. Make sure that relative files are selected and it move to your card.

Now the java files, go into a file manager (you can use zlaunchers file manager menu + f) and go to the letter "i" files and select the two ibm files, than select all the "j9" files and theres one thats starts with java. Move all theses files to the folder that was created on the Card for the opera mini app, it should be at: \palm\programs\zlauncher\apps\operamini

Ok now when you press the opera mini icon, zlauncher will put it all in memory to run than when you go back to zlauncher it deletes files from memory.

One more thing opera mini creates stupid temp files, so you should use the vacuum feature of "Uninstall Manager", just select opera mini, it will do the rest.

Guys...i have kind of a unique situation...
I wanted a Treo so badly that i found one online flashed to my provider (because they don't support them or smartphones in general) and there was a catch...since the Treo was not supported, i would not be able to use picture messegeing (no big deal), but they assure me that the internet works (something previously told was not possible with a treo on my network)...
So i buy, get it activated, and of course, just as they said....no pix, non-issue....then on a paper received with the phone are instructions on how to configure the internet to make it work on my carrier...grrr...i smell a "Workaround"...and i was correct...Seems any program i want to connect to the internet ie. browsers, IM programs, weather plugins and etc must support connecting through a proxy...bummer

While this is not a big issue with like a browser (except there is considerable slow down in net speed) it has severely limited me as far as any other programs that utilize the internet...is there anything i can do to help my situation or any good programs i might have missed that do support proxies?

I don't know, never used that app. It all the depends, if you want the app just to be used will opera mini is open, than you you should put it.

If i understand this app, one of its key features is to makes opera mini the default browser, i guess there maybe probs if the app is not in main memory to direct to opera mini. Maybe its best to leave it in main memory or some features will not work

About proxys, i've never seen a universal app for the palm, just the one thats in blazer.

My provider also doesn't support palm. What I did was ask for configurations for the phones they supported, like windows mobile. I configurared a service (in the palm network preferences) call gprs and another called mms, which both got the configurations off of a windows mobile. I even had it use OpenDNS servers but now i use my carriers one.

I have everything except the carriers special site (it call i9) which gives special services like TV, movie schedules, etc... They do it through a proxy also, so i got the configurations for a windows mobile, put the proxy into blazer, and sadly there server detects my browsers and says it not supported (now i need a browser agent changer like what Opera has). All I miss is the TV service, because its not payed per byte but per day or month, about a 1 euro per day.

For mine, a treo 650, i use Phone Technician but I think its only for the Phone sound. I don't know, give it a try.

As many of you already noticed, I've decided to taking a break from the board & Palm OS. Decided to get another unit last October & will be back here when the Palm Pre comes out. I still use my Treo 680 everyday as my second unit, no matter what I still can't let go of this.

Just wanted to so a very special thank you to everyone who has helped me out in the past! Without you guys I wouldn't have access to many things.

Thanks, I've already found and tried those, but those aren't comaptible with Centro GSM version. Only 1.6 works with Centro GSM. :(
