TakePhone is an application you need to develop a taste for. But after a while you will realize that is a very good application, it can find contacts in a giffy without hassle at all right from your phone screen, once located you can perform various functions like call, sms, email, edit, etc. To me it has been the best... you should give it a next try...

Ok here is what you have to do.......

after you run the keymaker it gives you the 3 files to change.....they are labeled a1 (6204), a2 (2028), and c (6258).........

now right click over the bolvanka file and choose edit........ you will see some lines that you can edit...... for example..

@="11111"

you are going to change that line to.....

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PocketDVD\OutputConfig\ a1]
@="6204"

you will do the same for the other two files......after you finished changing them, choose file and press save.......

now instead of right clicking the bolvanka file you are going to double left click the file and have it save itself in the registry.......

That's it ...... you should be registered now......

I love takphone, has the best search. You just have to use the skins and clocks and it looks great (if you have the 3 apps 2day, 4cast and takephone, this combo gives you a Windows Mobile Shell type app). But If you want another, Initiate launcher has good search feature for contacts and displays photos if i'm not mistakin and it replaces your palm launcher (its like a google desktop). Another one that doesn't have a very good search feature but looks great is Ultimate Phone

there is app call smsbackup, I never got it to work very well. But it copies your sms to memos. I think than you go to palm desktop and export them. If its a nokia phone or Windows Mobile phone you maybe able to import the file through there sync apps. Just a idea.

Any good sms backup apps out there? Theres a post here of smsbackup, anyone had luck with this app?

sms backup work well in treo650. like castro said, it will export the sms as text in memo.

What version of Documents to go? If your using the latest, maybe they don't support it any more, try some older versions

I hate palm default contacts. I used TealPhone what a big difference it is great. Remember this is to replace your default contacts and the way it looks..

There is no keygen for DataViz products (I don't think)...... If you want a serial for any dataviz product post or search for it........ SEARCH first...... because you are asking for a serial for beyond contacts and I just posted that......

If you want your computer like experience than its opera mini. But if you want a fast look up than its blazer or xiino. I also use another app called moxy (http://www.taenarum.com/software/Moxy.prc) its like a google search, moxy and blazer together makes a very fast web lookup.

Yes it uses a different crack system.......

try replacing this cracked file with the original.... located in the program files directory.... in the pqDVD folder/PQ DVD to iPhone Converter.....

It will allow you to use it as full version, but it will still say unregistered in the help/about menu......

I use Xiino for browsing (I removed Blazer to free more space) and use SnapperMail for email (instead of Versamail, which I also removed). I felt that the ones I use are very good. In my previous mobile, a symbian OS Nokia N70, I was using OperaMini and that is one beautiful and superb browser. Installing it on the Treo 650 was a big headache for me, Need to install the Java, etc,etc. So Xiino for me.

I use Blazer and have no problems with it. As far as email, I use Sprint MobileEmail. It pushes your mail to your phone. It works great for me. It has been a VERY stable app. It is available the on Sprint PCS web site for

I have a treo 755 and I imagine the setup is similar. You can assign a key as a speed dial button for any number. To do this you need to create a favorites button on the phone app. To do this:
Open the Record menu
Select edit favorites button
Click Type dropdown menu and select speed dial
Then fill in the info (Label, Number, Quick Key)
Click OK.

To dial that number just press and hold the key you assigned to it and it will dial it.
Hope this helps and works for you.

You need to install Garmin Mobile XT not as a .prc file (it is not a single file but multiple files), but as an installer file downloaded directly to your memory card. This can actually be done directly from garmin's website, and they have all the program files you need:

1st install the program versdion for treos from here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4339

Then you also need the support files (voices, etc) from here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3493

and the free basemap from here:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3645

After installing them to your sd card through a cardreader, pop the sd card into your device, and it will guide you through the installation from there, putting garmin mobile onto your treos ram.

All for free. The only hard part is you have no detailed maps that way. You need to then find a source for maps (many have already been mentioned on this forum--torrents, free maps, whatever, depending on the region you want maps for.) You will also need Garmin Mapsource on a pc to be able to install the maps to your sd card, and possibly Garmin Map Unlocker if the maps you find are locked. You also need to use the Garmin Keygen by Jetmouse to enable your maps on the specific sd card to be accepted by your device, and if you only have an external satellite receiver like I do (I don't know what comes with your treo) then the keygen will provide you with a number to allow you to use your own satellite receiver, rather than the garmin one they want you to buy. All that is a little complicated, but in the end well worth it, from my point of view--I love the Garmin Mobile XT program on my palm tx.

after you locate the folder you are going to replace the crack file (PQDVD_IPHONE) with the one you see in the folder.......

what you will have to do is right click over the cracked file and choose copy.......then go to the folder where there is a file that looks exactly like the cracked file and choose paste...... it will ask if you want to replace the file, choose yes........ that's it......

Launchers are mainly used to run apps from an SD card. This function allows you to move your applications to an external card and run them from there, even if they were originally installed to your device’s built-in memory. The logic of moving and running applications in this way is that by freeing up space on your Palm’s internal memory, you have more RAM free, thus helping your programs run faster and more efficiently.

As a result of that it does slow the process down a bit because the app now has to be moved back to RAM when you use it. I use Zlauncher and like it. I have noticed some slow down on my treo 755. Another feature of launchers is to make your device look the way you want it to. You can use pictures that you have taken and use them as a background image and set up different themes and iconsets. Consider it.

Hey thanks guys, yeah I figured something like that... That's why I didn't keep the whole application, cause it was just taking a lot of space of my RAM. I instead uninstall zlauncher and installed LinkStart to run apps from my card (I guess that's why some of my apps run a little slower when opened.

Then this leaves me with two more decision to make - which calculator to go for, and to learn about clocking applications (I am afraid to use an app like this and make things worst on my phone) - any tips?!.. (about the clocking app like lightspeed, etc.)

you can install switch5 and assign a button to go last app or butler volume app switch. Don't know other way

I like zlauncher because i like how it works, i have fav tab that is opened when entering zlauncher (search here for my palm pre wallpapers). I love the move app to card feature (thats how i have 300 apps installed on my treo 650), its file manager for me its the most accurate on display by created date (great for detecting funny stuff from apps when installed). I love the power it gives me to change the way i like it. I hate the palm launcher category filossofy. Zlauncher has build in hide tabs, I hide system apps and rom apps, the all tab. I love the unfiled tab because this way i know where apps are when i install the first time.

Would love a search feature like Initiate but you can combo both to work but takes up to much memory.

Hate that I have to have always a copy of zlauncherdb because it gets corrupted sometimes, mine is very big 1mb

Before there was uninstall manager, zlauncher has a very good delete function and was the way i would delete apps, now i use uninstall manager

love the icon packs

I want my backgrounds (A picture I took in Mexico), my colors (Butterfly), and a launcher that organizes items the way I think and use them (ZLauncher). Im old fashion maybe, but my fav launcher is freeware and is called
Screen Button, its not fancy but it does the card thing and i can swap
programs with different pages or carry them in a special buffer. Small in size too. I set it up with 4 rows and 4 columns.

Best calc for me is powerOne graph, it lets me do formula's, chart, graph,
matrix's, lists kinda like a spreadsheat charts data and does all regressions
including sine. it's the top one for me.

1. Install ALL FILES minus powerOne_graph.v4.2.3.prc
2. Run the app, and if you have a TE2 or a T5 maybe the app will show an error (it happened to me)

Audio Gateway 1.22 does not reg right on my cdma Centro with KG
But followed Eon's suggestion and dropped back to 1.20 and it does
great with KG. my 650 will work with 1.20 and will also reconize my bluetooth
headset on 1.7 patched.......but not the centro tells me something
like unknown headset.....

Like you and lots of people here I used to have lots of doubts about which launcher to use: I finally (after using lots like Initiate, Treolauncher etc) decided for Zlauncher - it suits me very well.
The fact is that you have to make a comparison of the cost (velocity, space, compability) versus the benefity (graphical interface, easy to use, features) and see what is better - it takes a time, but makes you certain of your choice.
Once you, or anyone else with this doubt makes a choice is just to use the search button and catch what you want!

One way to do this is by using an instant messaging app like AIM or MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger. What you do is put the phone number of the cell phone in the To: field with a plus sign in front of it. For example +1234567890 (no dashes)

The person on the receiving end (cell phone) will get this IM as a text message.

I forgot to say that its my DA manager with its quick launch anywhere feature. Also my quick key launch like menu r to reset, menu h to hide tabs, menu e to goto to palm preference menu

They are both apps in different classes, they can do the same but different at the same time. Resco explorer is file manager, zlauncher is launcher app which also has a file manager (menu f)

Its like gnome (zlauncher) and nautilus (resco explorer). Or File explorer or my computer (resco explorer) and the windows desktop (zlauncher)

lol Guys i need some freaking help here. Finaly i discovered waht was causing my Centro crash on incoming calls. I found out that if TreoGbHackLib on ram memory wasn't set to READ ONLY, everytime i got a incoming call my centro crashed. Problem solved, move on. I just posted it right here cause i think it could help someone in future.

Now my doubt: What i need to do to make my apps stop writing on ram memory and do everything on card ? currently im using Resco Explorer as my launcher and i really enjoyed it.

From the beginning: When i install one app i always choose SD Card, so everything goes fine, but then apps write files, dbs and everything else on ram memory. Any thoughts on this ? i know i'm a noob on centro world. I have been using my Zodiac 2 again and have been trying to
increase its speaker volume while using Coreplayer and PocketTunes.
Zod does have nice speaker, but some movie files have tiny sound,
so I tried to use the latest VolumeCare from my Centro, but they
seem to be incompatible. Was there earlier version that actually
worked with Zodiac? Or is there other program which will work with
Zodiac? If there are other Zodiac users in this forum, long live Zodiac!

About PocketTunes, has anyone tried the new Version 5? I have
Version 4.0.7 in my Centro, but wasn't sure if the improvement was
worth the upgrade. It is supposed to have support for last.fm, which
I tried before, but last.fm does not have Palm OS player, right?
I tried to play from their website in blazer, but never was able to
play music from the browser. Anyone able to use last.fm from their Palm
OS devices? And I don't think there is a way to make Pandora work
for Palm OS. Is there some other similar program that does what
Pandora does?

Now my doubt: What i need to do to make my apps stop writing on ram memory and do everything on card ? currently im using Resco Explorer as my launcher and i really enjoyed it.

There is no way to run an app from the card. What programs like Zlauncher etc. do is move the app to RAM to run it and then removes it from RAM when you exit. The advatnage of having the apps on the card is to free up RAM so that all your apps are not in main memory and you can have more apps on your device (on card).

Depends on the app you are using use your card: zlink, linkstart, zlauncher, powerrun.

I use zlauncher, 98% of the time all related files are saved to the apps folder. Some apps do strange things, sometimes i can find a file that wasn't move automaticly by zlauncher and I move it to the apps folder that zlauncher created (palm/programs/zlauncher/apps).

What I do is I install a app to my palm, run it one time, than in zlauncher i press down on the icon and move it to card, select the relative file box. Than I run it again to see if it works. Than I (menu + F) and check zlauncher file manager and list by created date and see if app create a file that wasn't moved to its folder, if so I try to move it like I describe.

The are other times, you need to cleanup files, like java, I use uninstall manager vacoom feature which cleans files left overs.

about the memory, only thing i know will give you a boost is dbcache, because when this is full, or it crashes or it cleans it with a little delay (you will notice this with blazer it has a auto cleaner). With resco locker you can lock a app in memory (dbcache), this way its always ready to run and never cleaned out.

I don't believe the main memory is upgradeable. You can free up memory by using Zlauncher or similar app that allows you to move apps to the SD card thereby freeing up main memory. When you run an app that is on the SD card it is moved to main memory while in use and then removed after you exit the app. Freeing up memory shuold provide some boost in performance.

Really, there is no significant boost. It sure is nice to have the extra memory though, especially for LJP. :) I was hoping that going from the Zodiac 1 to the Zodiac 2 would increase performance because of the extra memory, and there is no difference at all. :P

"Applications that are running on your device just think they're dealing with a normal device with 23MB of RAM (Treo 650). They expect to be able to access databases, make databases and use memory. This means that the system has to do some very fancy footwork to dynamically load databases and applications in to the DBCache when they are needed. Of course, you can't put a quart in a pint pot, so with 23MB of NVFS and only 12MB of DBCache, the DBCache can get full. At this point the system has to clear out stuff that it doesn't think is needed. This is where it can all go wrong."

Like the text says when then 12 mb of dbcache is full it is clean out. So when a developer makes a Palm app here nows that he can never use more than 12 mb (actually its much less becasue there will be other apps). 12mb is on a Treo 650, I have heard that this is higher on a Centro. My friend has a Zire and I also have a Tungstun T and they are very very low on Dbcache, about 2 mb.

Really, there is no significant boost. It sure is nice to have the extra memory though, especially for LJP. :) I was hoping that going from the Zodiac 1 to the Zodiac 2 would increase performance because of the extra memory, and there is no difference at all. :P

The only difference you will notice is when it has to clean out the dbcache, it gets slower. Thats why you will feel blazer sometime lagy, its clean dbcache on start when needed. The more you have, less the system cleans out, faster system. But than there sanother prob, if the app isn't in dbcache than it has to get it from main memory and put it in dbcache again to run. If its on the card, its even slower, get app from card, put it in main memory, than run it in dbache.

This is where resco locker comes in. Apps like FontSmoother, it is need at all times, if you don't lock in memory, its going to be in a limbo, in and out, in and out. I lock it in memory, this way its all ways ready to run, no delays. But than i will have less dbcache for the rest of my apps, so system will need to clean memory more times, making it slower again.

There is not a perfect solution, tweak it the way you like it. Palm does a hell of job doing it automaticlly (look at windows mobile always laggy and crashing). But if you understand and know what you are doing, resco locker can help.

Its a balance on the right apps and the most dbcache memory. Some have said that making cooked roms and deleting apps you don't need make more space for dbcache. The Center is Palm's most stable device because of more dbcache it has. Think Palm Pre 8 gb, how much does think thing use for memory, if any one out there understands Linux memory management?

Reset Doctor was made to help PalmOS clean the dbcache, but with trial and error i have found that it doesn't help and make your palm slower (because it has to monitor the system) and a bit more unstable. I do use Reset Doctor but for the crash log and pref auto recovery and lock pref feature (this last one is for advance users). I also use for MANUAL dbcache cleaner ( i usually do it before Opera Mini), Butler can assign a key to this feature.

UDMH is also a cool app to run LJP, it extends your dbache (i think and it most be taking a chunk from main memory) but it make the system slower and unstable. Should be use just for app that need it, not all the time.

Sorry for your question, yes 128 will help. Because this way you don't have to use so much of your SD card (cards are slow) and run off of your main memory (but this way you will have to use cleanstart because more app in main memory means more apps tring to do stuff behide the seens and make your palm unstable). But you will still have DBcache probs like everyone else. But you most be talking about the new Centro 128MB that has more memory, yes it may have more dbcache then the Centro with only 64MB. I don't really know, I do know that Centro 64MB has more dbcache than the Treos.

DBcache (Treo 650 12Mb) is your Computers memory (512Mb, 1Gb, 4Gb) to run apps
Main memory (NVFS Treo 650 23Mb) is your Computers Harddrive 100Gb, 160Gb, etc... to store apps
SD Card is like a external Harddrive to store apps but system doesn't give permission to run from

Palm Notifications are little bit of code that wait for triggers in your device to run, like screen turning on, hotsyncing, always running (very bad ones), etc...
Palm Alarms are apps that wait for a scheduled date and time to run, like email checks, real alarm clock, backups, etc...

I don't use that feature but i do use callfilter to block sms spam. I recomend locking in memory with resco locker. Its much more stable.

Pals, I have just quit Lightwav (lots of trouble on my Centro) and there are only two things I miss: the annoucing calls and the call blocks. I am using CallFilter, but it seems not to work - do you indicate me anything. Do you know any other app that makes announcement of the calls (like in the N95). Thanx.

I like zlauncher because i like how it works, i have fav tab that is opened when entering zlauncher (search here for my palm pre wallpapers). I love the move app to card feature (thats how i have 300 apps installed on my treo 650), its file manager for me its the most accurate on display by created date (great for detecting funny stuff from apps when installed). I love the power it gives me to change the way i like it. I hate the palm launcher category filossofy. Zlauncher has build in hide tabs, I hide system apps and rom apps, the all tab. I love the unfiled tab because this way i know where apps are when i install the first time.

Would love a search feature like Initiate but you can combo both to work but takes up to much memory.

Hate that I have to have always a copy of zlauncherdb because it gets corrupted sometimes, mine is very big 1mb

Before there was uninstall manager, zlauncher has a very good delete function and was the way i would delete apps, now i use uninstall manager

Zlauncher does take of space, but I like it. But of course there are other launchers and other ways. I just love zlauncher, what can I say

I tried to use RescoLocker on Blazer after reading your writing
(I was trying to lock blazer to avoid initial lag time), but I found out
that RescoLocker can't do it for blazer. Is there other way around
to lock blazer into dbcache to avoid lag time? I saw similar program
called sharkcache, but read it causes crash on some system.
I realize locking it means less dbcache for other apps, but I use
blazer all the time and thought it would be nice if I could do this.

So dbcache must be cleared before a program can be launched if
there is not enough room in the dbcache, so there is a lag before it
is launched. But once it is launched, does having larger memory make
any difference to its performance? (programs like TCPMP and LJP)
I do notice TCPMP struggle if there is an intense graphic (such as
screen full of water bubbles moving) sequence, but my guess is
having 64MB more of memory would not help in this problem.
Perhaps overclocking with Lightspeed may address this problem?
Just wanted to see if I am looking at this problem from the right
perspective.

I believe that any of the KG listed for Resco Backup on the attachments page should work on v2.21. Just install the KG, register with any serial, Real serial will popup. Install v2.21 over KG, then type in Real serial that was given with KG. Enjoy.

No, sorry to say, we don't have Handheld Birds yet...due to the pricyness, it may be a while before it us available to us. :(

It only play the 1st level and it always return to the same level.
The pwpatcher used to work with the previous versions, but after 1.63 there is some kind of verification inside the game. If it is patched, it get stuck at 1st level only. I think only a keygen will work in this one.

Install it (if you have takephone installed already - uninstall it and install the keygen first).
Open the keygen,
generate a few serials for your HSID,
anotate them somewhere,
uninstall the kg
Install TakePhone again
And insert the serials generated.

It has worked for lots of us, so give it a try

and there are more pal

You can also use google and put something like "scientifica calculator for palm" or "calculator for palm", "best calculator for palm", or something like that, and then check if we have it here or ask (after your search of course) and we willl guide you to one.

It really depends on what you like or want, you may end up with more than on calculator, like I did, I'm still deciding what to stay with.

I tested the birds encyclopedia and I don't see the limitation it is said to have...... I have been trying for hours:confused::confused:......Also there is no place to input any registration keys...........I even put the date forward on my device to see if anything would change, but it stays the same...... It does not have any limits, besides having demo written on the name....If you want I can get rid of that for you......

Resco Locker doesn't let you because Blazer is one of thoses apps that is to big to stay in memory and it has its own build in cleaner, thats why you have a lag. You can make blazer faster with other ways, you can do some speed tips, use moxy to start your surfing. Use shortcuts, menu + r refresh, space bar focues menu on top, etc... You can overclocker blazer also for short sessions

Very few apps clean them selfs up, I only know of blazer. The rest rely on the system.

If the app is big you shouldn't lock it in memory. Its all a balance in having more dbcache and background apps locked in memory. Rule of thumb, resco locker on top tells you how many apps are locked and how much the locked apps are taking from dbcache. I have 6 small/background apps.

I also overclock but don't put the whole system just the apps that you need or apps that you go through them fast like a launcher, calender, etc... If you overclock a app to long and you notice the back of the device getting hot, you should stop and rethink your stetegy. Overclocking is very nice but its not the solution for apps that need to be on for very long, like pockettunnes, coreplayer, tcpmp. If its to watch short videos then your ok, but for a long 1 hour video, don't do it. When the device heats up it will crash to try to protect it self from damage.

Hi King...thanks for all of your help. If you browse through the list of Birds using the Alphabetical Listing, you will see that the limitation on the Demo is there are only handful of the bird names that you can click & view (my wife said like 4 out of over 1000). These are Blue. The rest are black & can't be selected. I would imagine that the "Registration Keys" that are emailed after payment must be a small file that is added to the Palm that the Bird program looks for when it starts up, probably something similar to a Windows Reg key. Does that make any sense? I don't know if that is something that can be fixed. Or can it? ;)

For alarms i use butler. But there are great apps out there, if you want weather theres treoalarm. For a advance alarms, i guess it would be crazyalarms. Mobileclock has cool feature that it can play a random mp3 on every alarm, this way you can wake up everyday with a different tune.

Take a look at BellTimer. It is on this forum. It has a countdown feature to set off an alarm at the end of the countdown. It allows for several alarams to be set at once. So you could set one for 3 min one for 5 min one for 15 min etc. Hope this helps.

Initially, I had the app on the SD card and thought that might be the problem so I moved it to RAM but iti still doesn't block those text messsages. Am I missing a setting or something. Any help? I have it on the phone and if you look at individual and group tab you need to assign what you want to block

IE you can set this in individual or groups
1. group
2. vip
3. action allow or block call/sms
4.schedule
5. block method block call
6. incomming sms == here is were you set ignore message or delete..

Thanks Saj!!!...I have had nothing but trouble with the earlier builds. They said "too old version"...then I installed the demo 1.9R1 & no KG I could find would help, so I un-installed it. Then I found v1.8R1 that was patched, but somehow there is still some file(s) on the Palm that says I am trying o install on older version...bla, bla, bla...insisting that I install a more recent version.

Now I won't have to fight with it...because v.1.9R1 was the newest one I had on my Centro.

I have gotten audio gateway up and running nicely, and would really like to use it to watch movies in bed by streaming the audio of coreplayer to my bedroom speakers via bluetooth, but I find Audio gateway is taking up too much of the memory and video is too choppy to enjoy on my TX. Am I wishfull-thinking in technicolor, or is there something I can do about this to make my wireless experience "a beautiful thing"? By the way, i have tried using warpspeed to overclock both apps, but i is still choppy...is this normal?

Hi King (and everybody), thank you for this, this is a great game, I am really not a big fan of crossword but CrossNums is just something else! I really enjoyed this game the few times that I played it, if you play a game several times and you still don't get enough of it - then that's a keeper!

Well, let me tell you the issues I had after installing this app - the first time I opened (yesterday as soon as you give me the patch) it restarted my centro. Then today after palying like 5 games (in different sessions without any problem), there is an option where you can change the game number from menue from 1 to 64,000+ (I think), I changed it from 2402 (I think) to 3, and then it restarted my centro again, and then when it restarted all my preferences (sounds, colour, etc) were gone!!! And then I opened several shareware applications (that I got from this site), and all were unregistered again!!!! I did not even know that one reset could have caused such chaos!!! But thanks to you guys (by recommending RBackup)I had a back up which I did sunday, and its all good (few SMS and phone call logs missings and bluetooth trusted devices missing, but everything else is good).

Its really a good game and I really want it back, but I am afraid to try it now after that, can anybody test it (after backing up!!!) and tell me if they get similar cases.

Hey King, do you think the patch may had created something or it is just an unstable app. Maybe generating a serial (and not a patch) and trying it may provide some clues....

The initial reset after installing the app still happened...

Then just today I wanted to play the game again, and guess it reset my phone and knocked off all my registration codes and preferences.

I uninstall this app for good.... or at least until an update is released.

Hi - Update on this application (I haven't heard from centro users if they've had similar issues like me yet...

After contacting the develper, it told me that it appears that "the persistent data may be corrupt" (have no idear what that meant :cool::p!). Anyways, they told me to install a fresh copy from the site, don't really know why, that's where I initially got it from afterall. I did, what they said and as usual, it reset my centro after installation. I unistalled it (using uninstall) and reinstall it and use "LinkStart" to move it the SD Card.

It is more stable from there, it hasn't yet reset my centro after tapping on the welcome screen. I changed the game number, and it does it with no problem.

But listen to this... If I let my phone to go asleep (while playing the game), when I wake it up, it resets my phone. It may survive the first "wake", but if I let it consequitably (one after the other) to go asleep twice, it will, for sure, reset my phone on the second time (so far it hasn't reset my preferences and settings thou) (knock wood on that...). So I emailed the developer again and told them to look at that...

Secondly, and it doesn't happen with the other games I have on my card (running with LinkStart). After my phone resets, because LinkStart exports the app to RAM so that it can run, and after the reset, I end up with two copies of CrossNums - one on RAM (left by LinkStart) and the copy on the SD card. I have to open the one on the SD Card and close it, so that it removes the other copy from RAM and it only leaves the link to the SD Card. So told them to look at that as well...

I got an advice from somewhere else to try it on my phone fresh from a hard reset to see if there is another app clashing with this one... But this a tedious task to hard reset and load all applicatioins after that... so I decided to do what I did.

I have posted this on another site, so if you seet it don't feel bad, it was not my intention to undermine your recommendation, but I am guys that likes to have several options, so the more recommendations, the merrier.

Now... the subjet of the matter

am from Belize (you can look at you map if you don't know where it is...)

Here data plans are sky high, I instead use that money to get my girl out somewhere every month; I get more satisfaction out of this...

Anyways, because of that I don't use a lot of the applications that my centro (Palm OS 5.4.9 ATT 1.01 FirmWare G.R01.12) has. Like PTT, Express Mail, ATT Mail, ATT Music, Email, Get MobiTV, Get Music TV, Get XM Radio, Web Browser and so on...

So i was wondering if these application do slow me down by the mere fact of having them installed on my ROM. So I was also wondering if I can use apps like LightSpeed to decrease their CPU usage or something like that if there is the risk that them may drag my processin speed when running other apps.

Sorry to take time from you guys to answer Palm-Illeterates like me, but we do appreciate the time you guys take from your personal time to help...

I have a few calculators installed, and i see that MegaCalc can do the trick. I think that any scientific calc should do it, but I didn't have the time to try on the others. But maybe some of the others guys can put additional feedback.

Hey Rogue...I have a question for you. When you generate serials for other people, are you using a Palm emulator on your PC or some other method? I am just curious. I bet it would be much easier to get a serial using a emulator, seeing the files are already on the PC...would save some time.

If a kg is a .prc file then I use either the Garnet 5.4.0 or 755 emulator.
Occassionally, some .prc files won't run on a sim and an actual PDA is required.

Ok guys, now I think I'll get my B U TT kicked out of this site for too much postings, but I think, besides helping me out alot, it will help others as well to get some of that treasured knowledge you guys have.

I made a little research and found out that both are bit distinct from each other. Both apps track crashes and resets, but I am not quite sure whether Reset Doctor can monitor troublesome apps so as to avoid them from crashing, as what safeguard claims to do.

A cool feature of Reset Doctor is to flush the DB Cashe, but I have a question about this. I have like 8 apps locked with resco locker (CallRec, CrossNums, Third Party SMS app, RescoBackup, Safeguard, SecureApp, TakePhone, and Uninstall). My centro is telling these stats:
FreeMem Dynamic 8295/10304
Free Storage Mem:29118/70472

MaxDynChunk: 5784K
MaxStorage chunk: 299118K
DB Casche: 3150
and at the top of RLocker it says: Locked: 3272K

Any suggestions guys, maybe I am overdoing the locking thing. But my phone is telling that those apps are not locking properly to memory and I think that those need to be locked to mem as I use them regularly.

Now the question is whether by using the clear dbcasche feature from Reset Doctor it will clear all those settings I have on RLocker? Or this casche will not be cleared?

Second questions: I will assume I cannot keep them both?!!!

Third Question: Given that ResetDoctor backs up the preferences and settings of your phone, Doesn't RscBackup Pro does this? I've had problems with CrossNums lately, and the resets that this app has caused has deleted my preferences, settings and reg codes. So I've had to do a hard resets and Full restores with Backup Pro. Was there a way to just restore the preferences and settings and not the whole think with Backup Pro? This will come in handy next time CrossNums pull another scary one on me.

Fourth Question - If you do a full restore with RscBackup Pro, do you also restore the information that Reset Doctor had (for those of you who use both apps). I ask this because I've read that when you do this you phone goes crazy on reset loops.

Then finally, to answer myself on a previous post about whether to use lightspeed to underclock all those need-internet apps that i don't use; I think I will prefer to use CleanStart instead and disable all those apps I never use. What do you think guys, will this cause any problems like resets - because I've had enough of these lately, and i don't think me or my centro are willing and able to take anymore... nuff said for tonight

I have it on the phone and if you look at individual and group tab you need to assign what you want to block

IE you can set this in individual or groups
1. group
2. vip
3. action allow or block call/sms
4.schedule
5. block method block call
6. incomming sms == here is were you set ignore message or delete..

block all call / sms

Hi - Update on this application (I haven't heard from centro users if they've had similar issues like me yet...

After contacting the develper, it told me that it appears that "the persistent data may be corrupt" (have no idear what that meant :cool::p!). Anyways, they told me to install a fresh copy from the site, don't really know why, that's where I initially got it from afterall. I did, what they said and as usual, it reset my centro after installation. I unistalled it (using uninstall) and reinstall it and use "LinkStart" to move it the SD Card.

It is more stable from there, it hasn't yet reset my centro after tapping on the welcome screen. I changed the game number, and it does it with no problem.

But listen to this... If I let my phone to go asleep (while playing the game), when I wake it up, it resets my phone. It may survive the first "wake", but if I let it consequitably (one after the other) to go asleep twice, it will, for sure, reset my phone on the second time (so far it hasn't reset my preferences and settings thou) (knock wood on that...). So I emailed the developer again and told them to look at that...

Secondly, and it doesn't happen with the other games I have on my card (running with LinkStart). After my phone resets, because LinkStart exports the app to RAM so that it can run, and after the reset, I end up with two copies of CrossNums - one on RAM (left by LinkStart) and the copy on the SD card. I have to open the one on the SD Card and close it, so that it removes the other copy from RAM and it only leaves the link to the SD Card. So told them to look at that as well...

I got an advice from somewhere else to try it on my phone fresh from a hard reset to see if there is another app clashing with this one... But this a tedious task to hard reset and load all applicatioins after that... so I decided to do what I did.

Hope to hear if anybody has had similar problems so I can tell the developer as well...

About the crash after a palm wake up can be of the keygurd, there is known issues with the new version of butler with it transperant keygurd. What keygurd are you using?

About linkstart, thats a prob with all apps that work like linkstart, zlauncher has the same prob, because all theses apps need to run themselfs to cleanup but if theres a crash they can clean up for themselfs. Usually its what you did that fixs it, just run it again and exit app. In zlaunchers case you have to go back to zlauncher so it will remove it which is for me one of the advantages it has over apps like linkstart, if you don't go back to zlauncher it will be in memory and using switch5 (or butler last app list) you can run the app fast if you need it again because its still in memory. It jsut removes it from main memory when you run zlauncher. This can be a disadvantage for some (if you don't run zlauncher its still in memory) but for it a cool feature.

I think its unstable, but other feels it very nice to have. I feel it a heavy app and I can to what it does with other lighter apps, like palm internals (which is on my card, so its not in memory doing funny stuff), cardkeeper, etc... I use another app like powerup to combo with pxaclocker so this controls reset loops.

You can use a mixed way, safeguard on your card and when you need it to debug just move it to main memory and run (linkstart, zlauncher will to this automatically)

Surf that is correct add there name and phone number under individual.

Action = block/sms
block method = block call or send to voice mail upto you i used block call
incomming sms = delete message if you do not want to see it i use ignore message.

save that individual setting. ok on the main page under mode you have to select Normal.. this will block any calls you have assign under indvidual or groups...

if you have your mode to allow all then it will not block any calls/sms

I hope this is clear instruction.

PS: i use call block basic cause i use ringcare for my ringer and no need to use call block ringtone...

Yes you can overclock or downclock. I have overclock for years. You should overclock or downclock per app, not the whole system (downclock it ok if you want). You should overclock apps that are used in small amounts of time like a launcher, i have zlauncher at 507 mhz. Apps that run in the background shouldn't be overclocked. If you feel the back of your palm hotter than normal, you or not overclocking the way you should. For exemple if you overclock pockettunes at 507 mhz and let it play for 30 minutes, check your devise, it should be hot.

Remeber small burst apps, launcher, claender, todos, or apps that realy need it but you know you will not be on it for 30 minutes.

About the palm internals, what yo posted are palm notifications, these are apps that are waint for events. Thats why there not all there, because theres alot of apps that don't do nothing if you don't run them.

the –––hede––– group is the dangerous one, these are running ALL the time, they have no event, they run in the system run loop.

Watch out with callrec, if you have it enable every time you get a call, you may experence crashes
