.wmv for TCPMP is only for the windows mobile version.....

and ptunes standard can't play .m4a, you will need to have ptunes deluxe..... you should be able to find a code on this thread to upgrade your ptunes to the deluxe version if you don't already have it......

Nice to see you back. Your always welcome. I also recently bought a Nokia 5800 but I still use my Palm Treo 650, it just does lots of stuff right or the way I like it.

Would be nice to hear about your experience with a Windows Mobile? No worries, be honest? I've used some and I think the system is a bit slow and multitasking is not has good as Symbian phones which feel most more stable, and Windows Mobile are crashy like PalmOS. Am I mistaken?

My experience is that, there is still no perfect system out there, yeck on my laptop i use mac, windows and linux at the same time with vmware.

I'm hopping the Palm Pre will be the most perfect but still it has some down falls, no SD card and a 3.2 mp camera, whatsup? But have to love that processor and the web development and the multitasking metafor.

The Nokia N97 has a dual cameras, a 5mp camera, carls lens, dual flash but has a 400 processor, what???

Iphone, no multitasking????? *** damn it

Windows Mobile could of been the next best thing but I think its heavy and crashy.

Well now that I seen the Pre will be out on JUNE 6 I may need to just sell my touch pro and go grab that. To tell you all the truth I am loving the WM. The customizations are amazing and you can customize EVERYTHING. My main reason for leaving palm os was the lack of GPS support and I wanted GPS for when I am in the mountains. Plus I was able to throw Garmin XT on my pda and throw in cartman's voice for the navigation. WM IMO is just as "Stable" as the palm os, lol. All though it doesn't crash as much as my palm did. Plus I have been playing with custom roms and making my own. This $hit is amazing even right now for the last 2weeks I have been running WM 6.5. Ya, my co-worker has a cybershot PDA with 5mp camera and I really don't see a reason why these other companies don't just add that. All in all I am lovin the win****s lol. No real complaints here. Also the speed is nice and multi tasking is F*ck'n great.

you can use Teal OS this will change everything from home page to buttons to touch screen

or

TealWheel this is pretty neat as well

or

Skinner to change the background color and wallpaper

or

takephone

or

ultimatephone

or

Touch launcher


I can go on and on but your best bet would be backup everything to sdcard or pc first and try out all the apps i mention....there has to be something you will like


if you have problem getting serial report back we can help..

Just wanted to add Zlauncher to the list. All are available on this forum. Just use the search button at the top. Select show posts when you search. Try a few and see which you like.

I had the same problem. Finally found out it was conflicting with my CallRec program if you have someting like that on there I would start there.

I have a question. Does anybody here have any experience with PSpeak? I recently downloaded a version and hotsync'd it to my device along with the .pdb file. However, when I try to launch it it just turns the sceen white and a voice says "Hello, this is PSpeak" then the screen immediately reverts back to the app-launcher. I was under the impression that as a TTS engine you would be able to type something out and have the device say it back. Can someone explain how to fix this, or if I am incorrect in this assumption, does anyone know of a shell or other application that will allow me to do this?

Well if it is saying you are already downloading and your not, try rebooting your computer, that may be the problem..... Plus if your "always in a hurry" you gotta slow down, man. If you keep in a rush then life and important stuff will pass you by. And if rebooting your computer doesn't work, if you have internet on your palm try to go to this site using that and download the apps on your palm.........

Well, as far as launchers go, there is TealOS (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4303661&postcount=18303) or even TouchLauncher (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4359465&postcount=18646). There are some others out there as well, but I'm guessing you came across them in your search since they would be "older" :)

Have you tried Keepoff? It works for me, but uses HEDE.

Butler also has a feature to disable hard buttons if you use their keyguard.
I'd never heard of any of the programs you listed, would you mind providing links so I can try them out?

If you want to change your HSID to use codes for other HSIDs then you need a program called MUH (MultiUser Hack). It allows you to change your HSID for each individual program on your PDA that you choose, but keeps your original HSID for all the other programs. It is posted on this thread already or click here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/misc.php?do=showattachments&t=202671 to bring up the attachments page and look for MultiUserHack5. Be forewarned that MUH can cause some programs not to work because thaey look to see if it is installed on your PDA.

Personally, I'd just request the codes you need...

Your Centro only recognizes files that are specifically for the palm OS(ie .prc, .pdb) just as your PC only recognizes files that are for the OS of the PC(ie .exe files). It appears you have a file the palm OS can't recognize. What type of file is it and what is the file extension? (if it is .rar or .zip you need to uncompress it on your PC first then transfer the palm file to your Centro). Hope this helps.

You may need to do a HARD reset. If you haven't backup your files then you would lose everything, because a HARD reset returns your phone back to factory setting.:(

Hard Reset instructions
1. Take your battery out of the phone.
2. Before you put the battery back in you should hold the power button
3. While holding the power button place the battery back in
phone.
4. After the phone loads up and you see the palm logo release the power
5. A small window should appear asking you to erase all files ( or something in that nature)
6. Hit up on your 5-way nav....and that should reformat your phone a.k.a HARD reset.

Not a problem.
If a code is specific to an HSID then the HSID will also be listed in the posting. Otherwise it's a general serial for the software and anyone can use it.

I am wondering if anyone knows of an app that allows you to schedule your phone to automatically make a call at a certain time. It would also have to be able to input numbers in response to phone prompts and hang up afterward. I already am able to set up the phone to automatically input numbers in response to prompts using the built in phone app on my 755p but I need to dial the number manually. I would need the app to schedule a call to be made automatically and then use the built in additional number inputs or have the app input the additional numbers for me. Does anyone know of such an app?

Does anyone know if Handheld Birds from National Geographic has been cracked for Palm yet? I found several cracks for iPhone in my searches, however these are useless to me and I cannot even find a demo file in .prc format.

I've been planning to buy this for a while now but my only concerns are that the application is almost 1gb in size (mostly audio files I think) so it seems like it would be difficult to pass around to people to try and crack it.

My only other concern is if it cannot be cracked. I don't want to spend $100 if I can't share it, back it up, or move it off of it's disc and put it on a much larger disk so that I don't have to take the disk in and out every time I want to use it.

But, there is only one way to find out so I'll probably bite the bullet. Wont be for another 3 or 4 weeks though.

This is from a review giving an idea of what the protection is like. The Handheld Birds installer seems like it was made by the Department of Homeland Security. To install the software you must enter two 16 character alphanumeric strings you get from the Palm on to a web page after the SD Card is inserted and started, a 16 character key code found on the CD envelope that comes with the package, and your email address. But wait there's more! After you enter this information at the handheld birds' web site a 32 character alphanumeric code is returned to you. Now you must enter these 32 characters into your Palm device using graffiti or a keyboard if you are lucky enough to have one.

There is no faster way to calibrate your Centro than the built in touchscreen calibrator.......

However, powerDiGi will make your touchscreen a million times more accurate......
Don't know why PowerDiGi is failing as you say...... It only works if you register it.....

I have been really contemplating upgrading to a Pre from a Centro but my only delay is the Classic App from MotionApps. From reading this article (http://motionapps.blogspot.com/2009/04/classic-faq.html) I'm really unsure as to what to expect and may end up just using the Centro until its been proven to work with hacks. Does anyone have the custom build version of PowerSDHC? I downloaded the trial version with the intention of purchasing a key; however, I am afflicted by the message "The startup application for this card cannot be started". I read on Dimitry's website that he has a custom version that he distributes to fix this issue. I emailed him for it several days ago but have as yet received no response. I was wondering if anyone had the .prc file of the custom build so that I could try and see if this fixes the problem and proceed with purchasing a key.

Please note: I have read the previous posts on this forum and AM NOT asking for a patched or cracked version of this software, merely the custom build referenced on Dimitry's page here:http://www.palmpowerups.com/faq.html (its the last one in the list) so that I may buy a key and have the ability to use larger SD cards.

After you install MUH on your device (I believe it needs to be in RAM and not on the card), run MUH and then select the app you want to use it with in the list. Enter the user name and code you listed above and then ensure Enable MUH is selected. That should be it. If your device resets at a later date you may have to go back to MUH and select Enable MUH again. Let me know how it works.

For jars converted to prc to run properly on your palm it should be installed in the ram and not the card.....

Also, not all jars converted to prc will run on your palm......
