yes i have found it . but work only p910. i have p900 and it doesnt support
memory stick more than 128m. give drive error. for run this prog you must
have 256m or better 512m of memory stick. one map for route 66 is 180 - 200 m. is out now new vers 5.0.
i use it now with nokia ngage!! :mad: :mad:

I have done a search on emule and even downloaded some of the files, but the ones that i have found where route66 2005 (even do the file name says route66 2006). Route66 2005 is the symbian nokia version, and I don't own a nokia phone anymore :)
What file name did you downloaded with emule and contains the P910 version?

Hi mirko i have the mobile europa p800-p900 version but it doesn´t work (its an italian version i think). my handy writes file not found. can you say me how must i install and copy the files in my mobile device (there is no *.sis file to install). in c: or d:? in what directory?

do you have tried install it???? because there are reduced map that work well.
for tom tom you can find normal map or reduced . the only difference
is that reduced has minor information(hotel ,restaurant,...)but city and street are same

It was not possible to install. Route66 2005 is the symbian version for a Nokia phone. It does not work on a UIQ phone like the P910.
Tomtom mobile is not yet available for the P910 :(

I've tried all the files on Emule that claimed to be Route66 2006 that I could find/download. None where really route66 2006. About half of them claimed to be 2006 but where route66 2005 (symbian nokia version), the other half contained MP3 files. :mad:

I finally found a real route66 2006 version on Emule. So far there have only been fakes.
The only problem is that it is not cracked yet. :(

i have also managed to find a full version of route 66 uiq for the p910/p910i

from edonkey

search ROUTE66_mobile2006_Alpenländer.iso

but its not cracked so if anyone has a cacked version of the app i found one but it was fake

I have taken enough from these posts so I guess it time to give.

For those of you who either don't use edonkey etc and are sick of cr*p fakes here is the one I found. How long it stay on their I don't know.
Have not put a map in there and I have stripped out all the other languages so just the english is in there, about 2mb.

Have not had chance to check if it is corrupt as the site won't let me on.

You should end up with a file called GBRIRL.prm about 142mb
it goes in the route66\map directory. You don't mount it or anything, just bung it in the directory.

Route66 in (system.rar) file do not run on p910a. Every time I run it it returns Exec-Kern error #3. I have just created dir route66 under system/apps. I did try both c: and d:. Any ideas?

I've run it on a P910i so I do not see why your P910a does not run.

Just unpack the rar file and copy it over, I've run it on C and D both work. It will start up without a map loaded.

I installed Route 66 and applied the (latest given) crack. After that I copied over the Athens map (because its a small one :) ) but nothing. Crack doesn't seem to work.

I just tried to use the 2005 maps, but they don't work. This means that now I'm looking for the different maps... I have the german and italian maps.

I going to try the Benelux Map for Route 66 2006 when I am ready downloading the files from the newsgroups (around 6 files to go).

The Athens map that I have doesn't work, but I think it is from route66 2005

Germany and Switzerland/Austria are both working fine. The difference that I can see is that both map files are fully writen in capitals. Other maps that I tried are not. I thought I have an Italian 2006 map, not in capaitals and it doesn't work. Of course renaming doesn't work.

I don't have a bluetooth receiver yet, but they start fine. You can look at the maps, zoom in, zoom out. Look at the POI's.
With maps that don't work I get after some time an error message: KERN-EXEC With reason number:3

I have a Benelux 2005 map that is also exactly 95.736.526 bytes (and does not work). And in an other forum I read the the Benelux 2006 map should be around 92MB
I can however compare the German maps: German 2006 map is 233.459.175 (works) and the German 2005 map is 244.397.736 (does not work).

I hope somebody will post the 2006 maps soon.... and hope they work :)

When does this happen? When I start I get the screen where they ask to enter the product key, and I can choose the map. When I push activate I get a screen with a big Route66 sign. With the right 2006 map this is continued with a question about the bluetooth receiver. If I use a 2005 map the screen with the Route66 sign stays much longer and is followed by the same error as you mentioned.

I also have a P900, but I don't have a small working map (the small ones are route66 2005 and they don't work), so I can't check if the program is working or not...

Ok the software youve downloaded will only work with p910 and p910i and a1000 the software for p900 is different as it is smaller in size and as the p900 only accepts up to 128mb so youll have to download a different version from edonkey for something for p800 p900

When i press "Mobile 2006" to start this application, then after about one second this error message appears. I don´t get so far to see those activation screens or anything else.

I installed .sis file from winrar and that part went well. But have i done something wrong with the installation ?

I did a quick check on my P900. It seems to work. I can choose the map. Of course I don't have a small enough 2006 map. For the check I used the Athens 2005 map, it doesn't work of course (you get the error message, see my other post). But the behaviour is exactely as on my p910. I did not even have to close all kind of applications that where running.
As I do not have the right map, I can not be shure, but from what I can see it should work on the P900 as well.

Did you copy all the files in the system/apps/route66 folder as well?

If you download the file thay I have uploaded earlier (see earlier post), you see that it contains a sis file, put that in the root of the memstick. And it contains a dir named system. copy that dir in the system folder on the mem stick. I all is well the mem stich should contain the route66 folder with several subdirectories. Of course you should not copy the full maps subdirectory, as the maps are too large for a 128 mem stick.

We just have to wait till somebody will share with us the right map files.....

I got the Route 66 2006 running with the maps I want on my P900...well running isn't exactly right because I got a P900 Route 66 gives me a kern_exec error after the "welcome to route 66" message and splashscreen.

So my guess is I got the Route 66 2006 P910 version on my SE P900.
I know there is a P900 version of Route 66 2006 out there? Does anybody have it, or know where to get it?

Yes there is voice guidance in different languages. However, the version that I have does not contain all of them (only English, German, French, Italian and Dutch). If you look on the Route66 website you will find that there should be more languages available.

I don't have the Sweden, Norway or Denmark maps.
The German map is included in the download link I posted earlier....

When I have some time tonight I will test the Benelux map on my P900, after I cleaned most of my memstick. But I'm pretty shure it will work (read on a German forum that it also work for a P900).

I will also upload the Benelux map.. On the usenet I also found an Ibera map, but it didn't work (I think it was a 2005 map) and an Italian map. I didn't try the Italian map yet, that's also for tonight.

But the search is still on for the France, Iberia maps that i'm missing..
So, if you find them please share them with us, or let us know where to find them!

I always use a multi card reader (for compact flash, SD-cards, Mem stick and also memstick pro with an adapter). You take out the mem stick from your phone and put it in the card reader. Than you can copy the files on there. As this is a USB2.0 connection this works much faster and better. And they don't cost that much.

The app runs without maps in such a degree that you will see the screen where you can choose the maps (nothing to choose if you don't have a map installed) and can enter the unclock code (not neccesary for the patched software version). If you use it with a route66 2005 map (the smallest that I know is Athens) you are able to choose it. You will than get a yellow screen with a big Route66 logo, followed by a crash. If you have the right maps (route66 2006) you will see somequestions about your bluetooth gps or if it is installed already you will see the map.

When I drive from home to work there is one place where route66 crashes. Starting it imidiately will give a crash as well. It happens at the same place on the way back as well. It almost looks like there's something in the map that route66 does not like. On a German forum I read that others have crashes as well, but I don't know if it is always at the same place.

At all other places it works well. Only the voice could be a little bit louder..

I have never heard of this.
The only way this could work is using the number of the basestation (every basestation has somekind of identification number), but this is extremely inaccurate: from a few km to 10km or something like that.

There's no tool to do this.
In an earlier post you can find the availble maps with the sizes. There is an German South map which is smaller.

I have tried so many different versions (probably all variations on the same one at the end of the day).

Anyway, the whole program works fine. I wanted it in English language as I am in the UK. I have a UK P910i and 2 x 1Gb memory cards.

I installed everything before the cr@ck came out and it worked up to the "activation" point. I got the crack and installed it. Ran the program again and it worked great.
However, when I view the map (I have German, Italian, Swiss/Austrian and Benelux) all the details on it are in a foreign language. If I view the "Lengend" in the map preferences they are also in foreign language etc. The main program is in English and works fine though. If I check the GPS information the details on the screen are show foreign too.

I have reinstalled many times. Tried it all on another memory card but the same thing happens each time.

Is the problem my phone spec or the cra*ck itself or could it be the maps?

I am running R66 v1.0 according to the program along with the v1.0 cr@ck.

Not being an expert on GPS but seeing that I am in the UK and the maps are not of the UK does this matter? Shouldnt all versions of Route66 run fine in any location as I thought you just selected the language during installation.

Do I need any language packs on my P910i. I only have the UK language installed?

I do not understand what is happening. I can change the language to enlish or an other languguae and this works fine. The gps menu changes to the coresponding language.
Route66 should run fine in an other location than the used map. You should be able to look at the map (View map). In this case the names in the map is in local language (so dutch names in the benelux map, and geman names in the german map). When you use youre GPS you should be able to see it working in the GPS menu, but the map will not work as your GPS location will be outside the map coordinates.
Why it is not working in your case I just don't know. Maybe somebody else can help...

I started with a map not from my region and the program worked fine. I could see and read everything (but I could not plan a route ofcourse). No 'russian' or whatever. So I would be surprissed if it is due to not having the right map.
Maybe something goes wrond with a font somewhere?

Firstly I would delete the program from the phone, then remove all traces off the memory card. Now assuming you are using the Cracked version given by Alex at the top of page 5, if not then forget the version you have and use that one as it definitly works.
I have two UK P910i's and using two memory cards, 1x 256mb and 1x512mb with Route 66 2006 installed on each and both work giving an all English system ie legend, gps etc. To save space I removed all languages and speech files from the card leaving only the english versions.
If this does not work then I am afraid I do not have a clue, it would then seem to be the phone rather than the software that is at fault.

I have a UK P910i and have downloaded 4 versions of Route66 now.

The first is the Alpen...blah.blah version which I got as an ISO file from P2P.
The second was the German map upload from one of the upload sites.
The third was from a recent post which came without any maps at all.
The fourth was from the newsgroups GPS site which came with German and Swiss/Austria maps everyone is on about.

I have two seperate 1gb memory sticks and have wiped one of them completely and installed each of the versions above. Each ends up with similar files in the Rout66 folders. Some have all the languages etc and some are just minimised versions.
The actual program itself runs in English fine, ie the icons etc.
The crack runs fine but my maps show foreign names. If I click on the GPS Information icon for example the it appears to be in Russian writing or similar.

I can change the languages in the "preferences" icon and that changes the main program icon language but not the map writing or things like "GPS Information" or the "Legend info".

Does any of the install get copied to the C drive that I dont know about? ie, hidden file or something?

Point 1) mine does the same .......nothing
point 2) GPRS is only required for traffic updates so dont worry about it.

Goning back to your original problem ie language, when you run for the first time after fresh install, do you get the option to choose your default language? version 1.0 asks at the beginning, maybe this could be your problem. It does seem strange that you seem to be the only one with this bug, this sort of thing usually happens to me!!!!!
If you make backups of your phone, maybe it would be best if you installed a previous save point pre Route66 and started again.

No patch is neccesary as it already includes the patch (however, it is not the patch that removes the activation screen).
If you like to get rit of the activation screen, you additional should use v1.0 patch.

To upgrade to version 1.1 you can download the lastest .sis file from the route66 website. Install it (this should be done after the 1.0 package and also at the same location). Than use the v1.1 patch to patch this version.

I can change the languages in the preferences menu and each icon (in the main program) changes to the one chosen.

If I click on the map the writing remains in what looks Russian (probably not though!). If I click on the GPS information icon the writing does change but only slightly. I guess the maps I have tried all come out with similar lettering. I didnt try my Italian map but did do Swiss, German and Benelux maps and language.

I'm guessing that because I dont yet have a map of my region (UK) the writing is screwed for me. I wonder what it will be like when I have the map!?

If you are looking for the genuine UK map then I'll have it tomorrow..I'll end up posting it but will post when I get it.

The link for the Eastern Europe map is also for the P900.

There is no difference between maps for the P910, P900 and the P800. The only issue is that on a P800 and P900 the max size of the mem stick is 128MB. This means that if the map is bigger it is impossible to use. That is why Route66 divides maps from big countries (like Germany, France, ...), so they will fit on a 128MB mem stick.
The only solution other solution for the P900 is to use the 'P905' software. With this special software for the P900 you can use bigger mem sticks (>128MB that is), and thus use all maps on the P900. :)

I bought a GPS Blue tooth Receiver from eBay for £45, 16 Channel Nokia battery/charger which last 16 hours continous use. It comes with a car/USB charger and is excellent. I cant tell you the make because it is unbranded, however there are only a couple of Chinese companies that make 99% of these receivers so they all basically have the same parts bar the casing. When you browse eBay the one I bought is black with a white satellite on the top.

Mine crashed this afternoon, I had set the max speed to 85mph and warning set to both (Visual and voice). on exceeding 85mph the program crashed with a media Kern 3 Thingy, so the voice warning must be missing.

Now looking at route66 site and pocketgpsworld, I think you can not import POI's into Route66, the 2005 version, but can not see if you can do it on the 2006 version, I think the answer is no :( , does anyone know if this is the case.

I finally got it all working on my P910i running version 1.1 of route66.

Looks great, and runs great! Happy that it seems to function in a similar way to Tom Tom on my Ipaq!

I used Soundforge 8.0 with batch function, so you can do the files in one go.
I than used the 6dB (200%) boost funtion. This does not make it twice as loud, but it helps a lot. And you can still understand what they are saying. If you make it louder it more and more sounds like a very cheap radio on max volume...

Check the different post here. As far as I know there is no fake on this forum. I don't think there is a version without the map. But instead you can download the 1.0 version with the German map (see link in one of the earlier posts). That works fine (it's already cracked). If you would like to upgrade to version 1.1 (only neccesary for roundabouts in the UK) you can download this version from the Route66 website. Start the sis file on your phone. Download the crack from this forum (see earlier posts) and put the crack on your phone.

I have only seen the whole application being installed on the D drive. Maybe it's possible to install it on the C drive as well, but it works fine on the D drive.
Just download the package with the German map in one of the earlier posts. Copy it to the D drive and start using it.

Yes under apps under route 66.

You have to install on D and not on C as the maps need to go in the same directory in the map folder, and so your phone will not have enough built in memory.

I'm nearly busy now for a week, to get route 66 working on my Ericsson P900 without any luck. Tonight i found this forum, and i thought this could be my lucky night...but after another frustrated evening , i still got the above eror message, when launching route 66.

Did everything Alex nokia described.
1) Format my mem-stick 128 Mb
2) Put in in my phone, to recognize and AUTO create the default folders like MSSEMC
3) downloaded complete software packet-route 66 (on top of page 5, germany map)
4) downloaded benelux 2005 map also in this forum (posted by alex)
5) copied system and .sis file at \MSSEMC\P-SERIES (same place as Media files dir)
6) removed germany map, and copied benelux map to \Maps folder

Can anybody help me please.

Can you describe how and when you get the error message.
In a lot of cases this error message comes from using a route66 2005 map (you can find the sizes of the route66 2006 maps in an earlier post and check if you use a 2006 map)

Until yesterday i got the acitivation screen, and saw the Route 66 Yellow map and then i got this error...but now it crashes straight away

The size of the Benelux map is ok.
If it is crashing imidiately I really have no idea. The only thing that I can think of is to make a fresh install. Make a backup of your phone. Format/delete everything. Install it and see if it works. At least you will know if it works. With the backup you can restore your phone after the test.
A lot of people have tried route66, so we know it works on P910, P900 and P800.

Maybe there's somebody else who has a better idea...

Finally...got it working.
By installing original .sis file in combination with another route 66 complete file, with the name " Route66 mobile europa 2006 P800-P900 Version CD", as I had the feeling the P910 version wouldn't work..added the correct benelux map with the crack..and it worked.

The program is working just fine, but it still gives me the 3 error. I am downloading the iberia map and it will probably solve the problem :cool:

KERN-EXEC-ERROR CODE 3 is driving me nuts.

I'm nearly busy now for a week, to get route 66 working on my Ericsson P900 without any luck. Tonight i found this forum, and i thought this could be my lucky night...but after another frustrated evening , i still got the above eror message, when launching route 66.

Did everything Alex nokia described.
1) Format my mem-stick 128 Mb
2) Put in in my phone, to recognize and AUTO create the default folders like MSSEMC
3) downloaded complete software packet-route 66 (on top of page 5, germany map)
4) downloaded benelux 2005 map also in this forum (posted by alex)
5) copied system and .sis file at \MSSEMC\P-SERIES (same place as Media files dir)
6) removed germany map, and copied benelux map to \Maps folder

Can anybody help me please.

I think step 4 is your problem. 2005 maps will not work with route 66 2006 hence the error 3 code.

I got the same error if I started up route 66 2006 without a map or a 2006 map.

If you get the splash screen I think it means that it is working fine.

Wow you guys seem to know what you are doing. i read threw the whole thread and got my p800 working fine. All i need is the UK Map for the south of britain can you help with a down load?
or at least a file name

Should I install the .SIS in the Root of the RAR and then replace the installation with the files in the System folder ... or the other way around?

I have a P910i and I can confirm the Kern Error #3.
I tried several aproaches, including to kill app apps form memory (hidden also), but nothing worked.

I noticed that the app on start creates a prefs.ini file, that contains among other binary data, the map I have in the Maps directory.
May be a map related problem, but I can't be sure of course.

Or maybe it's the Firmware version? I have R5A02.

Any progress on the rest of you?

The Greece map works fine for me.

The size might only be 4600Kb (on my pc anyway!) but it is RAR'd. You will need to unRAR the downloaded file before using it. It uncompresses to the correct 7778Kb.

Just download it and uncompress the file and away you go.

Finally I managed to put Route66 working on my P910i!! :D

(remove the space)

It's an installed version *without* maps (only 8 MB), and works pretty well.
Just copy to the Route66 directory.

BTW, the Iberia map is OK.

Has Any body had any luck finding the UK map or the file names, I know there is 2 for Britain North and south. For the P800/P900 any way.
Or is ther any way of striping some of the info off the larger Uk Map that i alread have for the P910.

Yes, it isn't, but the I copy-paste into the browser it works.
I think the newsgroup is stripping something to the link.
