Hi imran
try installing other player in your phone and then see if the sound quality changes try real one or power player. It is not a hardware problem only u need to put add on or 3rd party software for this to work perfectly.

as i explained that Sound Quality is fine when i play tone from Profile Manager
but it had very pooor sound quality when i play from gallery and it opens in Sound Recorder i am trying to play .wav file in Sound recorder , installing 3rd party software is not a solution for it (i think), but thnxxx for u advice , even video songs are playing veryfine in RealPlayer and in SmartMovie, i only have problem with Sound Recorder (.wav) files

Heat the rom3 area marked in the diagran provided and then check again if 2nd boot is ok . in case it is not then post reply and i will help you.

then just try to flash with latest flash file and try to slow the speed of flashing and dont reset anything and then power on the phone

Do the following steps

1) Full flash erase
2) write mcu+ppm +pm
3) put the phone on, if phone shows contact retailer the ur ok, just do reset factory settings and unlock simlocks and then format user area ur phone should be ok.
4) in case still not work then put sum flux in and around the ram ic shown in the diagram and heat it a little bit .

HI ,
1) check if camera is working (do this by clicking some snaps)
2) if camera is working but still camcorder not working you will have to reset your phone to factory settings you can do the same by typing the code *#7370# phone will ask for security password type ur 5 digit password (it usually is 12345) and then phone will restart (after a few minutes).

yes i do all, I make flash with griffin, ufs3, PBB, not slove at all, it is hardware problem, do not post software solution.

My experience regarding "Start up failed, Contact Retailer" is as follow:

Full erase then flash MCU.PPM,PM and BT. If result is same then Flash only MCU and PPM after full erase. Do not flash BT and PM. I think result will be "OK". It may be BT falt.

please do the following steps

check if problem is hardware or software

1) after putting the phone on type *#06# and check the imei number.

2) if number not ?????????????? then uem problem u have to change the uem

3) if imei number ok then mostly proble with water below the sim reader ic apply flux around the sim reader ic and heat it lightly.

this should do the trick

try software first, fullerase, flash mcu+ppm, write good PM, unlock, if software actioncan't slove your problem, now remove PA, insert simcard and power on phone without PA, i think phone will working but no network, now try to replace new PA and have nice day. :)

As soon as the set is switched on, it will have full of dots for 20 to 30 seconds and then white screen appears. Changed with good working display and also fully flashed and pm written, but no results. Any solution pls.

Remove the pa of the phone then try to restart the phone if it comes on ok (without network ofcourse) then naturally pa problem if not then flash ic is problem. u need to change the flash ic of the phone (try heating the ran and the 3 flash ics before this)

100% problem with the flasdh ic please change the flash ic or reball the flash ic and fix it also did your handset develop this problem after falling down.

Problem : 6600 hangs/system failure message/contact retailer/blinking nokia/white screen

solution : Format user area , You can do this by the following methods

method 1 : press "*" + "green call button " + "3" press all the three togather and then press power on switch. keep all the 4 switches on till the word "formatting " appears on your screen. Then release all the keys and formatting will continue.

method 2 : type *#7370# , the phone reset to original factory settings , phone prompts the user to enter the security code and after user enters the security code phone switches off then switches on.

method 3 : format user area using ufs/griffin/or any other box.

Yes a lot of contact retailer problems do occur due to the above mentioned reasons as a matter of fact most problems of 6600 which are not able to be solved using software solutions the best solution is heating the 3 flash ics .

every dang time i mess with virus software my phone messes up

i got the latests simworks and copied AVServer to system/app/antivirus then rebooted my phone and everything moves like christmas now....so slow i can not even bring a menu up to delete anything using fe explorer

i scanned all files before copying for viruses to my phone using nortons with the most updated virus definitions

what gives with this is there anything i can do the phone wont connect usb either for some reason probably because something is bogging the phone down

I have one 6600 when it flashing it asks for "put power on" after switch has pressed the light comes but there is no NOKIA logo appears and does not coming to local mode.I have replaced"Battery connector,UPP ,sdram and all falsh ICs,Still the problem is same.
Please help me to get a solution.
How can i trouble shoot the errors by falshing using only Image file or the PPM file or the content file only.
Previously i put one thread on 7610 error but till date i didnot received reply.

try to use the ver 3.42. it might be your phone can't go along with higher ver :p

usually its an application data memory problem. better replace the flash ic's and UEM to save time and effort. B.R.

this prob is cause by bluetooth module. u need to heat on it or change it.

Before change the module ic do this.

1. Erase flash
2. Uncheck the enable bt flashing button
3. Write the MCU + PPM file with latest firmware
4. Click the UI settings button
5. Formate the phone

If you still having the problem, t
then change or rehot the bt module and flash the phone with enable bt flashing.

Moderator please tell our members to explain the reason or check points to measure signals so that we can find out the prioblems by trouble shooting.]
If you say simply change falsh ,Blue tooth etc etc. no one can learn the methode of troubleshhot and fault finding.Everytime they need assistants.
So kindly avoide blind sayings.Please provide correct information about the problem and signals to check.And then only begins "the art of repairing cell phones".

come on man dont u have schematic for 6600 the most commonly available ,--------------------------anyways its located just behind uem chip in metal casing

sdram, 4 flashes IC, Uem and Upp, even Mjoelner and 26Mhz, and also Zocus has been replaced. Still remain the problem.
Btemp path is okay, and also VFlash, VIo, and VCore is normal.
What is the problem here ?? Please Help ....

Sorry was on leave for a few days so couldnt help ye good people. :cool:

problem 1 : Now since the phone is not working try erasing the flash and reloading the flash . if that fails then flash ics faulty please give me the screen shot of erasing error and i will let u know which flash ic to change. If after changing the flash ic the problem persists

problem 2 : the uem is faulty change the uem.

problem 3 : if the problem still persists change the upp.

Sorry was on leave for a few days so couldnt help ye good people. :cool:

problem 1 : Now since the phone is not working try erasing the flash and reloading the flash . if that fails then flash ics faulty please give me the screen shot of erasing error and i will let u know which flash ic to change. If after changing the flash ic the problem persists

problem 2 : the uem is faulty change the uem.

problem 3 : if the problem still persists change the upp.

6600 hang , blank , only white screen. . . . .then goes off again.
sdram, 4 flashes IC, Uem and Upp, even Mjoelner and 26Mhz, and also Zocus has been replaced. Still remain the problem.
Btemp path is okay, and also VFlash, VIo, and VCore is normal.
What is the problem here ?? Please Help ....

Hi all!I have the same problem as Amir and as I saw few more guys on this thread.My 6600 when opening bt says"Can not perform bluetooth operation"or something similar.Also gallery can not be opened,any file,and it erased everything from phone memory(maybe 'cause I tried to back it up).My phone is two weeks in repair shop 'cause it is under warranty,and repair man says that the big flash for bluetooth is bad,so he is waiting for it?So maybe that helps u but it does not help me.What is it?Software or hardware problem.Can I do anything to speed it up,or is that guy not telling the truth.Does anybody know anything about it?plz help if U can.Many thanks in advance,keep up the good work.

those line cut ,,. just because drop phone , or phone's flash rom was "rehot" too much !

if you can see the boot up "NOKIA" logo, it mean, MCU SW was "ok" checked !
and also ZOCUS !

Have u tried changing the display connector if that does not work try heating the small glasss type ic near the display connector and check the results if not working then i will post diagram

Solution to all gallery not opening in 6600 :

1) check if bluetooth working

2) if bluetooth not working first try software solution ; flash with blue tooth flashing option selected . if problem not solved then hardware problem

3) try reheating the blutooth area. (80% problems get solved wit5h this )

4) if 3 dosent work then u will have to replace the bluetooth area.

mate have you ever solved this problem (or met it)

got a 6600 with ripped power switch and the 2 components under it. Fixed them from a spare unit. Works ok now but power switch wont have any effect. It will power up either by inserting battrey or else by inserting the charger.

There are no shorts in the area i repaired at all and all 3 components are soldered well.

The strange thing is this.... after some time the power switch will start working. If pressed it registers the click and if left for more it is as if it starts being pressed by itself. Changed switch to see if it is shortedbut it seems that it is being bypassed by something else. I know the track from the capacitor under the switch goes up to the UEM. I stopped there.

Am really confused on this.

hi. my n6600 would show "App Closed Nsnlist" when i get sms or while reading it. i tried renamed my 1st boot to Xfirstboot.dat, and restarted my phone. my phone made another 1st boot. just awhile ago, my phone showed "App Cloased Ncnlist" again. what shall i do?

hellow sir i had 6600. i put it in my pocket & go to my bed for sleeping. in the morning there is the patch on the display but it appear only when the lights of lcd is on but in stand by position it looks ok.

Solution to all gallery not opening in 6600 :
1) check if bluetooth working
2) if bluetooth not working first try software solution ; flash with blue tooth flashing option selected . if problem not solved then hardware problem
3) try reheating the blutooth area. (80% problems get solved wit5h this )
4) if 3 dosent work then u will have to replace the bluetooth area.

hi to everybody! There is a ussual problem for 6600 phones! WHITE SCREEN caled. I read all of threats but nobody could say any exact solution! This is a special problem for 6600. I saw at least on 15 phones but Could not solve the problem. Symptoms are like this; when powering on the phone all lighs are working but there is no text on diplay and after 15 or 25 secconds going off.

For that promlem last time I did all these things but the problem is same:
- fully erased with Griffin and UFS
- flashed with both lower and higher flash 3.42 and 5.27
- Rehot all flashes RAM, and UPP
- Changed 4 flash IC
- changed UPP
- changed UEM
- Reflashed again and again
- chacked BSI line all are OK
- VIO,VCORE, VANA, VFLASH1 all are OK

No result! Now if there is any professional can solve this problem I think it will be revolution for me! Because I got tired!

you have a problem here in the flash ic's in the fireist try to chang the flash algorithem in your softwere with a new version
if hte same problem so chang you flash ic's begining with the one in the meddel under processor ( main flash )

I got 6600 for network problem signal drops when its inside, for open air for some times its there. tryed the followings.

1. flashed the phone
2. wrote a pm
3. changed the antena switch
4. changed the power amp
5. changed hager ic,

i got here a contact retailer which doesn't format.. i already use the erase flash procedure. also when manual formating, it displays formatting but doesn't continue.. i think only 1% formatting and then it will display formatting for hours.. any idea? i already try reheating the 4 flash ic's and try replacing rom3 and still not ok..

Where is the on off point of the pcb link to? UEM? but it's glued.

if the problem from software
make erase with chines flash and reflash your phone again with a new flash
if the problem from hardware try this
1- resoldrer the bloutooth module if steal not work do next
2- remove the module and clean under it and resolder it again if not
3- replace it with a new one

Hi everyone...

I have two problems with my nokia 6600.

1) The display backlight doesnt come on. The lights behind the buttons comes on. Earlier, the backlight of the display used to come on and go off when i pressed the area just about the screen hard. But now, that also doesnt work. I heard, it cud be some fungus problem. Pls help me with this....

2) The joystick doesnt respond leftwards. Thats right, it works in all three other direction and also can be pressed to open selected app. But doesnt respond to the leftward operation, Wat cud be wrong?


I am sure the experts out there wud know whats wrong... pls reply soon to help me fix the problem...

I remove the resistor and measure, there is no leakage from the resistor, but still the phone short circuit at the pcb on off button point.

hi refer to the schematic if the problem doesn't from the resistance it's from the UEM .

you can solve this problem by replace the memory card controller ( crestal ) beside the memory card socket

Hi there, i have 6600 that says memory full on boot then stops, i tried formating user area using * + 3 + Send formatting comes up but it stops after around 10 seconds it freezez on formating like 10% , any ideas ?

my nokia 6600 has a problm with pic msgs it says unknown file format when i try to open pic msgs but whenthe mem card is removed it works ok sending pic msgs has also no probs but it cant be viewed frm the gallery i min it can be viewed as a bunch of them but cannot be viewed individually also some ring tones espically video tones are not found in profiles or gallery when the card is inserted
any solution without formatting the card coz i've installed a lot of apps and i dont want to do it again

try to format your memory card in computer

yes i do all, I make flash with griffin, ufs3, PBB, not slove at all, it is hardware problem, do not post software solution.




your phone 2nd chip is dead. change it flash with erase file, flash again with
mc,ppm,or write pm. thats all 100%%%%% works.
