View Full Version : Not Impressed!!!!!!!
Well, I got thunderstorm specifically for sharp. The first phone I try to unlock is GX25 and quite frankly I think I must have wasted my money. Despite loading the usb drivers from support the program only shows com1 so when I click "read phone" all I get is "Entering Service Mode Failed!!"
I'd already tried with com cable on com1 and got same message.
I assume the usb cable is ok as in the end I unlocked the phone using the same cable with furious crack. To be fair I also tried redbox without success. I assumed Thunderstorm would fill the gap when redbox lets me down BUT am not happy that free cracked software fills the gap better. :(

first let pc conect phone them see on control panel the port used by phone then you open the soft and dont do direct unlock on gx25 phones read manual sharp

1. Didnt use original gx15/25 usb cable but used nec usb cable so that might be the problem however

3. checked in device manager and saw that sharp gx25 v2.00 was installed as com11 and there were no conflicts
4. started sw but could not select any comport other than com1 (havent found manual yet) and just tried to read phone.
didnt even get that far as failed to get into service mode.

Did u started sw after the the new comport in device manager appered? Manual for sharp phone is in support in software folder.

WBR ThunderStormI did that and it made no difference, I spent nearly two hours installing and uninstalling drivers, connecting phone, trying with phone off, trying with com cable etc. Even after I unlocked with furious I reconnected the phone and after shown as connected started Sharp thunderstorm and still only com1 option. Am getting specific gx25 usb cable in morning so will try with that to see if soft gives option of changing comport. Had enough tonight, Felt like stamping on dongle. :mad:

I apolognize for that, but the software was tested by many of my customers so there must be some specific problem with your PC, just let me know how i can chat with you in realtime and we will sort the problem out for sure.

8- 9- 10- shortcut togetherYes, after talking to Sanchez earlier this morning I think it is a combination of cable and operating system. I now tried with 98ME and soft allows change of comport and upon "read phone" switches it to Diag mode (****) but then the phone is not seen by pc (ie. changed comport and not registering). This must be a problem with the cable. I was hoping a gx25 cable was going to arrive "special delivery" this morning whilst I still have the phone but it didnt come (yet). I have to return phone to customer in 1 hour, so it looks like I cant test at this moment to see if cable causing problems also with xp sp2.

Thanks for your speedy (lightening fast) response and support, I'm now of the oppinion that the problem might be mechanical, ie. the nut on the keyboard ;)
If and when I get the appropriate cable and if I get another sharp (dont see many) I will test os again and give results.

I had similar probs at first mate, but this combination works for me:
Infinity unibox and regular unibox GX30 RJ45 cable, plugged into front left socket ;)

Firstly on my pc it didnt want to work on xp sp2 and although starts to run on 98me when it goes into diag mode it loses com port (at this moment I'm not blaming software). Possibly the cable I used is not 100% compatable with this software for this phone, but coming back to bad luck. I had ordered the correct cable to be sent by special delivery, and after actually unlocking it with other solution I was hoping to test soft again. But I didnt get the cable as package (damaged) got returned to reseller yesterday with cable missing. I had to give phone back to customer so not really tested and I dont see many of this model. :(
