Hi,

I have recently bought a magic sim card reader/writer see link below. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6422392006&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 in order for me to clone my Uk vodafone sim card, I have installed all the software and drivers and the device appears to be working fine, the sim reader came with it's own cracking software so I have used this, I go ahead and plug my vodafone sim in to my pc and run the software (MAGICSIM V8.0) AND ask it to find the sims KI but after about 40 mins it hasn't even guessed one number and all the feilds are showing 0's whats wrong, I know it can take hours to fing the KI but I was also unsure what type of sim card I have and wether it is crackable as the last thing I want is to leave it on for hours and the end result being a locked SIM.

I am sure the sim card is older than 2001 and has originated from project telecom my provider (however my network is vodafone) does anyone know how to crack this sim or even wether it's possible I hear that UK SIMS or Vodaone may be useng a 3DES algorithim or something???, is there a better software available, also any different software must support a USB sim reader and be capable of cracking UK sims.

Any Help Will Be Greatly Appreciated!!!

Vodaphone sims have never been able to be cloned. Although its an old card, they never used the comp128V1 algorithm for any of their cards ever.

You could have searched in the "following cards can be cloned..." thread to locate your network card in order to see whether it is possible or not to clone. If you just want to use two cards in the same phone, there is a posibility of cutting the sim-cards and use a small electronic circuit (see the singular64 thread for a picture).

But I assume you wanted to have a copy of your card... as mark said.... sorry, not possible.

Oh dear,

Heres the situation I have a car with a handfree prewire system wich only supports an old style nokia and cannot be changed my preffered phone is the samsung d500 what I was hopeing to do was to duplicate the sim and place the duplicate in the nokia so I don't need to keep switching the sims, is there any other ideas out there????

also if it isn't such a silly question what about if I phoned vodafone and told them that my sim had broken or something would they send me out another the same so that I could us both sims? or would they just disable the old sim?

Wow, three questions ...

ok. First one, I see your problem with the wired phone. This is a reason for many people to clone their sim (when possible) as I have said in an older thread.

Second one, There is none. There have been many attempts to extract the "secure" Ki on Vodafone cards for many years now. As long as they don't have used the "only for us possible to clone because leaked" comp128V1 protocol on their cards... no matter what they have used... we don't get the info out of it. :)

Third, there is no way to obtain two copies of the same sim from your network provider. Even if they send you a new card, the old one will be deactivated. This is because every SIM card can only have ONE individual serial number (ki) in order to be authenticated as the original.
This is the reason why we do the cloning, to make the network believe the clone is one and the same with the original card (same ki = serialnumber = fingerprint). Every simcard obtained by the network has a different fingerprint (ki).

My suggestion to you... find an old sim-card from a friend (not a vodafone sim) that was using the old comp128V1 and make a clone of this card.
