Make sure you have a map installed?

I would maybe try downloading the files again.

Just out of interest people, is there some sort of contract or anything for the GPS usage. Im in the UK and for some Sat Nav units there is a monthly fee, If I got a BT GPS receiver and this TomTom would I need to sign up to anything or will it just work?.

No sign up necessary Bob. obviously with any cracked software, you are probably limited to anything you have to "log on" to tomtom for (traffic notification for instance), but other than that.....

It should just work.
The only charge is if you use traffic services to inform you of traffic congestion.
This will also depend on your service provider and what they offer.

Sorted with help from Guys on A1000 Forum.

roi's should be on C:\system\apps (at least for A1000)

I copied the entire folder from X:\system\app\ to C:\system\apps.

Works fine now.

Hi everyone. I have downloaded the sofware and tried to follow the folder structure for installation of TT 5 but it wont work :-(

I have the 'contacts navigation' icon but not one for tomtom itsself. can anyone help ? I have the UK map installed....can anyone tell me what I've done wrong

(I managed to install Route 66 and get it working eventually)

Hello all!
I have california map installed and it works well with my holux GPSlim however my question is why there is no phone numbers in POI's. One huge advantage of using smartphone is that you can use software and phone functions at the same time. Are phone numbers stored under POI's kept in separate folder that we did not get with rest of the program files ot is it dependant of compiled maps and choices of what the map should include?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

hello guys

i've managed to put tomtom on my p910i thanks to all of u who contributed with the information.

UK map , speed cameras and voices all updated

i bought the tomtom bluetooth gps receiver....AND its not connecting with my phone....the phone can see the bluetooth gps , recognizes it, bonding fine......but when i fire up the tomtom software it says "no gps device found"

???

do i need any other hardware to get it to work ??

please help.....!!

sorry if that sounds funny but i dont know nething bout gps devices ...!!

The gps receiver needs to be paired with the handset.

Select 'Change Preferences'

On 4th screen is 'Show GPS status'

Select this and then 'Configure'

Select 'Other bluetooth gps'

It should then search and hopefully find your gps receiver.

If it asks for a code, that should be provided with the receiver.

Hi guys, Sorry to be rehearsing already discussed points but I've downloaded everything required MSSEMC, GB Plus MAP and installed them as detailed (in every possible configuration) using P900 File Manager and I still get "unknown error" when I try to launch TomTom.

I'm using a p910i with a 512mb Sony MS Duo card but cannot get this app to run or load. The two icons appear in my list but the contacts navigator just hangs when I select a contact to "show on map" or "navigate to".

Is there any way someone, who has this app running properly, could post screenshots of their file hirearchy?

All the previous installation notes are both helpful and appreciated but I cannot, no matter which install configuration I use, get this app to run at all.

If anyone can help I'll bless them with "The luck of the Irish" and buy them a pint when I see them.

Many thanks in anticipation of some (much needed) advice / assistance.

Although I have Tom Tom running on an A1000, the software was written initially on a P910.

As far as I know, all the folders in the MSSEMC\P-Series folder\.... just needs to copied onto your D: drive.

After that, it should just work.

However, even with the files installed exactly, the System/apps files excepted, and the two program folders placed in the System / Apps folder of my p910i (tried in both the phone & memory card structures) it still gives me the Tomtom start up splash screen with the "unknown error" message and when I click "continue" the program closes.

Do I need to have GPRS enabled before launching the program or should I be able to launch the program without a GPRS connection established and browse the maps (as some earlier posts have indicated)?

Could the fact that I have no GPRS set up at the moment be the root cause of my getting the "unknown error" message?

Format your memmory card with a reader
Then insert it in your phone so that it creates a new standard file tree

then install like this

MSSEMC\P-series\

in system\apps\ i put the TTNAVCONTACS and Ttmobile folder

Restart your phone and of you go (don`t need a gps reciver to start things up , but there is no route caculation without one).

It works like this on my P900 with 128 card

If that doesn't work, put the 'Great_Britain_Plus-Map' folder in the root of D:

Be careful though, because often, the downloaded 'Great_Britain_Plus-Map' folder has another 'Great_Britain_Plus-Map' inside it.

It should just be 'one 'Great_Britain_Plus-Map' folder inside which are all the files.

TomTom Great Britain map files... ok This comes in 3 varieties using 4 files, giving 3 install choices depending on your memory stick size. Unlike route66 TomTom is a little untidy in the way it stores stuff like maps. Although this is the price of storing POI data unique to each map maybe. Each map has many files associated with it. There is not just a map file, there is the map (always called <cline.dat>, no matter what the country), map start status, the POI data (speed cams) unique to this map also go in this folder and a few more, about 11 files in all. As you guessed the names of these files always stay the same for every country. So, one country= must be one folder. Then all country map folders=one MAPS folder. I believe all PDA type maps are to a certain extent cross platorm transportable (nokia -sony <symbian>). The maps are:-
1(a) Great Britain N(orth) : 66.7 Mb
(b) Great Britain S(outh) : 66.2 Mb These two maps are both made for the P800 and P900 which can only take <=128Mb max adressable memory stick. Remember you can only load one of these maps at a time on a 128Mb memory stick.
I have not found these in a form that will work. the versions I have seen all require 'activation' code. I would like to know if anyone has a code for these two maps. :) Please :rolleyes: .
2 Great Britain : 120Mb This is the GB map only, that is the two above in one contiguous file for the P910, P910i or cruiser reflashed P900 able to take >=256Mb memorystick.
3 Great Britain Plus 198Mb : This is the GB map plus all the major roads of
Europe and needs a memorystick of >= 256Mb
for the P910, P910i or reflashed P900.
All Large countries have been split in a similar way like, Germany N, Germany E, Germany SE, Germany SW or Germany (just map) or Germany Plus (all major roads of europe). This is a total of 6 maps with 3 install choices, again depending on your memory stick size.

Everything works fine on my p910, but I tried to achieve the same with my friend's P900 and have the same problem as Paul with an "unknown error" message when running TomTom Mobile. There seems to be a problem with the "TTMOBILE" file for the P910 in the "Apps" folder, as the error message appears instantly before the memory card is accessed. i.e. error is the same with or without the memory card. The P900 has been paired with the same Bluetooth GPS module that works fine on the P910.

Would be very grateful if anyone can help! Thanks in anticipation.

Hi all, great posts so far.
Just trying to get TomTom loaded and set up on my newly aquired P910i. Bear with me, after the basics.

The applications i have downloaded so far are:

Great_Britain_Plus-Map 171MB
MSSEMC 2,227 KB

Is the MSSEMC application the full TT v5 software with crack?
If so, how do i load it onto my phone (now got a 500mb card), via the dock and associated software?
If not, where do i get it from? I've tried the link on the first few pages on 'Megaupload' but it comes up saying I've got/had to many connections??

When files are copied the attributes are sometimes changed from what they should be. You need a file manager like 'File Manager' to first check the attribute status of your installed data files, they will need to be set to read/write, not archive for example. This so that any changes you make are retained by changing the file data. I do not think the Sony software will allow you to either see or change the attributes to any data or system files on the phone or stick memory. Re your last post, do you mean you have the P900 now working with a map of the UK?

I have file manager and can change the attributes from Archive. However I do not get an option to change to Read/Write. Only; Read,Hidden,System,Archive. Do the files not have to be archive? I can see there being a problem if they were read only!

Hi Burtie

Ok as well as individual files having attributes so do folder have attributes. Your problem in not being able to set and keep your data seems to effect all the files relating to your Great_Britain map, therefore the folder holding all the map data must be set to read-only attribute at the moment. The attribute may not relate to what access is actually allowed by the software, I think you have to just try. I think files within the map folder will work when set to archive. The folder may be different try this.

Go to file manager select the whole MAP folder <properties> and clear all the attributes then see what happens.

Worth mentioning that Windows does have an issue with resetting the file/folder attributes as you would expect on a "make it so" basis (see Microsoft ht*p://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326549) and it is best done from the cmd interface, although you cannot access the phone directly from this interface. You would need to have the memory stick in a card reader so as to access it as a drive.

If you have the P900 running with a UK map then is that on a 128MB memory stick?

So it must be Britain N or S. the map I have been looking for :)

As to the available attributes in win XP, they are

Hi Burtie
Ok as well as individual files having attributes so do folder have attributes. Your problem in not being able to set and keep your data seems to effect all the files relating to your Great_Britain map, therefore the folder holding all the map data must be set to read-only attribute at the moment. The attribute may not relate to what access is actually allowed by the software, I think you have to just try. I think files within the map folder will work when set to archive. The folder may be different try this.
Go to file manager select the whole MAP folder <properties> and clear all the attributes then see what happens.
Worth mentioning that Windows does have an issue with resetting the file/folder attributes as you would expect on a "make it so" basis (see Microsoft ht*p://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326549) and it is best done from the cmd interface, although you cannot access the phone directly from this interface. You would need to have the memory stick in a card reader so as to access it as a drive.
If you have the P900 running with a UK map then is that on a 128MB memory stick?
So it must be Britain N or S. the map I have been looking for :)
As to the available attributes in win XP, they are
H Hidden
S System
R Read-only
A Archive
E Encrypted
C Compressed
T Temporary
O Offline
or all cleared

I need a little help with TT5.
I've downloaded the rar from this topic, and tried to install the app. TT successfully started unfortunately the program doesn't see the maps, it doesn't matter where I put them, whether it is
D:\Hawaii-Map

or
D:\MSSEMC\P-series\maps\Hawaii-Map
hell, i even tried copying all the files directly into

into the root of my d:, otherwise the app wouldn't start at all, so I'm assuming that there shouldn't be any mssemc folders on my card.

PROBLEM SOLVED - unfortunately the test map included in the rar - hawaii map simply doesn't work on my device, the map of Italy worked after copying the folder to root.

Hi there,

Hope someone can help me here. I have read through this whole thread and downloaded the MSSEMC file (4.27mb) I have extracted all the files to my memory card as instructed. Here is were I am lost, how do I lauch the programme. I cannot see any .exe. file or anything similar. It was previously stated on this thread that you should just be able to copy the files on to your memory card and start tomtom, but I cannot see any file to launch the programme from. Have I missed a step? Is there an installation file? Is the 4.27mb MSSEMC file the fully cracked correct version to install tomtom from scratch.

Hope someone can help me.

Jon, you need to move 2 folders to the system/apps directory - these folders are TTMOBILE and TTNAVCONTACTS, keep the rest where it is, reboot your device. If the application fails to start move the rest of the directories from the MSSEMC/P-Series/.... folders ....
to the root of your memory - C: or D:, depending on where you're trying to install TT

Symbian doesn't use the exe files, the actual application files - called in windows executables - are the .app files, they have to be in the system/apps folder, once there, the link to the application will simply show up in the apps tab of your phone.

Hi - I'm having real problems here . . . I keep getting cyclic redundancy errors when I try to copy the largest of the expanded rar folder componants to my MemoryStick (I can copy all the small files across). I have downloaded two different Great_Britain_Plus-Maps.rar (each from megaupload.com . . . can't find any from torrent sites) and have the same difficulties with each.

I have checked each file (compressed and expanded) with CRCheck32 and Norton Antivirus to see where the problem lies, but neither of them can find a single fault! I can copy the complete Great_Britain_Plus-Map folder to a USB memory stick, but not to any memory card - a bit strange!

TomTom seems to run wonderfully on my P910i, I just need help with the maps!

PLEASE HELP!!

I mean, I have a 1GB sony memory stick and I put on my card folowing maps: GB+, Deutchland, de_at_ch_pl_cz_plus-map_v632 and Benelux so about 40MB left and I had no problems with transfer those files onto my card. What card reader are you using?

512Mb . . . size not the issue! The problem seems to lie with the integrity of the files - I am unable to copy any of the following:
mapinfo.dat
faces.dat
cname.dat
cnode.dat
cline.dat

Each time (even if the files are copied across individually) I get a cyclic redundancy error.
Did your GB+ folder come from megaupload.com?

Yes my gb+ is from megaupload, but I think it doesnt matter where from is the file. Maybe try to format your card in your phone. Your problem is really strange...
What about attributes of your folders on a card? I really dont know what is the problem :(

The file attributes all seem fine. I think I will hold fire on formatting the card as it contains a lot of info and programs, but clearly that is a logical next step.

The card reader is built into my Dell monitor - I might look at borrowing another reader!

Just for info . . . my 32Mb card that works perfectly is a *******, the 512Mb is a Sony - so could it be to do with MagicGate security features or an incompatibility specifically linked between my card-reader and Sony MagicGate MS cards.

If the likely problem is card-reader related, can anyone recommend a MS Duo reader that works perfectly?!

Hmmm . . . well, I backed up the card, then reformatted it. Defor restoring anything else, I tried copying over the map files . . . . cyclic redundancy error! So I tried coppying a couple of the 'faulty' files onto a 32Mb MS card that would not copy onto my 512Mb one and theyt copied with no problems!
I then tried formatting the 512Mb card twice on my PC and then again on my phone (just to be sure!!) and once again tried copying the files . . . . once again this prompted cyclic redundancy errors!!
So, it seems ther may be a slight fault with the card - I guess (one that only comes into play when I try to copy large DAT filed onto it). I don't really want to buy another just yet.
Has anyone else come across this sort of problem?
Hmm... ok last chance: try to change the *.dat file name from DAT to AVI or whateverelse :confused:
I am not sure but can MSD be somehow protected...:confused:
ohh and another chance - try difrrent card reader!

Well, I'm happy as Larry now with TomTom 5.02 running on my p910i . . . thinking of u/g to 5.20 . . . hope I'm not being too much of a numpty here (I am sure it hasn't yet been listed, although it was requested in #371!)
- is it worth the bother?
- is it easy to do - won't I need an activation code (I'm running the GB+ maps), or has some legend already cracked the u/g?
- will I only need to u/g the actual TT bit and keep the same maps?

For info: App version 5.020 (535)

Cheers, I downloaded this and got the TomTom installation file (couldn't find the spanish maps but dont need them any way). I installed it and went through the setup proceedure got stuck because I am yet to add the UK maps, but I noticed the Craccked App file (I assume I use this to replace the original one), what is this for because it seemed fine without it?.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but this is my first time trying to get this working.

I'm a moderator of the original forum where I've published the links of the France_Plus-Map v6.32 (the links of trickydave's post quoted on my previuos message).
I'm also the "megauploader" of these files :)

When anyone find a link and he would republish it elsewhere, is a good practice put the credits to the original user that has made his work! Again, the place where the link was found in origin would be cited.... or not??
