Hi, having some issues getting tom tom v5.20 working on my nokia N70.
i install the sis file but can not get a great britain map to work/activate?
I have read about pasting apps into a E: system/apps/tom tom but i can't find this file on the phone?

i guess im not looking in the right place?

Don't know if this will work for you as it did for me but give it a go.
Place a cracked map such as guam into D i.e. Guam-Maps on D drive for my a1000, then place the Gb map on file and go to the application to see if it recognizes it. If it does then load the map and all is well and good, I later deleted the Guam map and found it still recognized the other map I had put on file.

Format your card in the phone and when ready, be sure that the drive letter = "D", unrar again via the card reader.
I've done this many times, 100% GO!
In your application menu you should see TomTom MOBILE

this has worked well
i flashed it 54.07.10 and that is why i do not have an x:\ drive
i can install apps without having to use nopEX

Someone listed the filesizes of the outstanding maps in one of the tomtom threads and the 210meg mentioned matches the 210,489,269 Windows reports from the one I downloaded. The latest update and crack you posted still does not find the v632 map. GB v571 works fine with it though.......... :( :( :(

trickydave i have a question. im having problem when open tt5 i get the setup screen where i pick the language ok them the setting mile or kilo.. them the voice and after i do this it say no map found. where do i drop the map at? i tried putting the map inside tomtom folder that didn't work. i also put it outside on the main tt directory and didn't work. can you or anybody else help me on with this problem also its there a way to load a complese usa map into it instead of putting different states? i own a tt go and i have a complete usa map on it its i took if out from the sd card and tried putting it inside the tt5 directory but it didn't work i don't know if its because of the version of tt or what but if anybody have any clue please help me. This is a Sony Ericsson thread and the P910i runs UIQ 2.0 not WM2003. Look in to the PPC or Windows smartphone section. I myself use a Motorola
A1000 which is another UIQ smart phone.

On a UIQ phone, like the Motorola A1000, my folder structure is like this:
c:\system\apps\ttnavcontacts\*.*
d:\any-map
d:\itn
d:\schemes
d:\raster
d:\licenses
d:\tomtom
d:\voices
d:\system\apps\ttmobile\*.*

you can install the maps to d:\

And I am running the UIQ version of TomTom5 Mobile.

The PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database for February has been released.


The PocketGPSWorld Speed Camera Database has been updated and contains lots of new cameras. We have made some big changes this month both to our internal systems and the delivery of the database.

New this month: This release has been prepared from the new speed camera database system and all of the camera IDs are now unique across all camera types. As a consequence all of the camera identification numbers have changed. We have also changed the peresentation of the database making it a lot easier to download based on your SatNav system and the available files. This will also make it easier for us to create new download packages in the future. Later in the month we will be adding a ViaMichelin download. This will be announced on the front page.



We have also added a new camera submission page which allows you to submit either an OV2 file or individual camera locations. Click here for the new speed camera submission page.

This month we have 8005 cameras in the database, with 185 additions and 419 changes.

The distribution of the database has been centralised into the Speed Camera section of the site. All the existing spped camera pages should forward to this location.

A beginner's guide to the database can be found here, some instructions for TomTom Go systems are here and for TomTom Navigator 5 here.

Dont forget our camera capture application: POICapture this works on TomTom GO and TomTom Navigator. Click here for more details.

I am running the latest version of tomtom with the latest UK map v632.

However I was under the impression that it could take full postcodes?

It seems that it can only take the first half of the post code. After that I still need to know the name of the road!

Anyone know why? Is there something I need to do?

In addition does anyone have the new latest UK speed camera POIs?

Hi all,

Im having problems with tom tom on my A1000.

I updated my firmware to 54.07.10 and updated Tom Tom to v5.202 with GB Plus Map v632, all on the same day.

Ever since when im driving along Tom tom will say that the bluetooth GPS has disconnected. Both the bluetooth GPS receiver and on my phone still say they are paired, and it is not until i turn bluetooth off an back on again (on my phone) Tom Tom will reconnect to the GPS receiver.

Please someone help because its so annoying trying to turn bluetooth off and on again when driving on the motorway (70 mph of course!)

I don't think you should pair the gps receiver with the A1000.

If the gps appears in your bluetooth devices list, remove it.

Just let Tom Tom connect to the gps receiver when it needs to.

Recently installed this software and the GB_Plus map on my P910i. All is going well but I have a few queries;

1) Do you need to do something to activate POIs correctly during a route, other then put a tick in the checkbox? I have petrol stations selected but none of the ones I seem to be near show up on the map view, yet in the 'navigate to POI' option they are all there.

2) I have the Sony Ericsson HBH-65 BT headset and it does not work when Tom Tom is active. If a call comes in it either does not pick up the call even though it rings, or it beeps and loses its connection with the phone. Does anybody else have this model working or can you suggest a good BT headset?

3) Where can I get a full map of France? I tried a link earlier in the thread but it appears to be dead.

1) Launch Tom Tom, change preferences, manage POI's, enable POI's. select the ones you want to be visible.
Change preferences and show POI's. This will however make the map a wee bit jerky. If you hide POI's the maps is very smooth.

2) This is a common problem however I do have my bluetooth headset working with Tom Tom and a bluetooth gps on an A1000. It is a bit hit and miss whether they work together properly. I connect the headset first and then start Tom Tom. Sometimes it connects to the headset and the gps and sometimes only one of them.

3) Sorry can't help with the map but I am sure they are available on this forum, do a search or look back through the thread.

Hi, I've been following the instructions given by trickydave in post #801 to install the TomTom software on a P910i. I followed the instructions to the letter: downloaded the .rar, formatted the memory stick in the phone, set drive letter to D and copied the MSSEMC folder over to the memory card. I then placed the card back in the phone and turned it on. Was expecting TomTom to appear in the Applications menu but it wasn't there so i tried to install it from the menu. Coolice_TomTom002 appeared and i tried to install it but it said it was an incompatible application! Anyone got any ideas???

I then placed the card back in the phone and turned it on. Was expecting TomTom to appear in the Applications menu but it wasn't there so i tried to install it from the menu. Coolice_TomTom002 appeared and i tried to install it but it said it was an incompatible application! Anyone got any ideas???

I managed to find an eastern europe map on emule.
I (eventually !) managed to get it onto the memory stick
popped it into SONY 910i..
.. restarted tom tom .. and GREAT.. there it was in the map list ..

problem was , when I tried to view the map..
message came up..

program closed kernel error reason 3..

I tried to restart TT again but the same message came up and then TT wouldnt open at all.

Anybody know the reason for this?

I managed to get TT working on the Great Britain map again but only after deleting the Eastern Europe map from the memory stick..

now it all works fine.

so . the folders I had in the memory stick to make it work with other maps were:

p series>licences
" " > tomtom ( this one has recovered file fragments of data check )??

in sytem folder is
>apps> TTMOBILE and
> " > TTNAVCONTACTS

so it seems if you have all that then it will work.

POI for low bridges and loads of other stuff can be got off POIHANDLER.COM but they are not complete lists.
you can change or add poi's in any category yourself quite easily though on the phone once you have it up and running. I am uploading on utorrent tomtom 5
dont ask me how because I havent a clue.
it was one of the links on this thread to a utorrent file
spanish file but it all works fine
todo los neccessaire. it is 2.02gb so look for that one on utorrent then ther eshould be a few others of the same size, it is on my computer as tom tom 5

apologies if it doesnt make sense, I am complete technophobe and dont really understand it myself, I just know that it now all works fine .
I have followed the directions given out by tricky d and other s earlier on in the thread regarding country maps and poi's ( basically, once you have found the ones you need , just put them into the corresponding country folder, then it works.

I had to take all the poi's out of my folder then put all the ones I wanted most ( like low bridges especially) back in . it seems it will only read a limited amount of categories regardless of how many you have in the folder.

I dont know about USA , :confused:

for the europe ones, you have to use one of the maps with '....including major roads of...'
these are the only integrated or seamless map as there is too much detail in the door to door maps to make them into one complete seamless map

then when you need more detail , you switch to the country or in your case 'state' map to get more precision.

if you have only state maps then you have to just change them on the border, it is the only way as far as I can tell.
anybody else know anything different??:)

Hi, I'm new to the forum and no expert but I think I've already had the same problem and solved it - you need to make sure that you have first downloaded all the files into the same directory, then simply unrar the first one - the programme will see the second, third etc file and unrar them all together into one map.

Just like the complete Western-Europe map, with which I can navigate from country to country without switching maps, I can also calculate a state to state trip without the program asking me to switch maps. I also have the Eastern-Europe map next to the Western-Europe map on my phone and I only have to switch maps when I get to the Eastern Europe part of the journey.

I tried a demo route with the USA map from Santa Barbara (CA) to Orlando (FL) as I'm not in the US at the moment and TT calculated the route just fine. I even played the demo at increased speed and never saw it asking me to switch maps once.

So now my question for you is : With what phone, pda, or other system are you using this map, what size memorycard and which version of TT5 (mobile)?

When I try to do a DEMO route , it is waiting for a vaild GPS signal.
And I know TomTom will not place you on a current map if you do not have a valid GPS signal. And the valid GPS location will only place you on the correct map. So if you are, say in the US state of New Jersey , then you should be in New Jersey for TomTom to place your location on that map. If you try and bring up another state, say Illinois, TomTom will reboot because it cannot locate you on the map of Illinois because your GPS location is in New Jersey.

In order for TomTom to place you on any map , should not the GPS location correlate with the coordinates of the map ?

Just a question. If is stand corrected , please enlighten me.

I am in the process of loading TomTom maps onto a WM5 device, and so far the only ones that work are these: (from my post in the PDA section)

PS - Most of the maps work on P910i, but something must have been changed in Navigator 5 for XDA, as most of the maps do not even show up in the change map list when loaded on the XDA.

OK, now I'm puzzled! I have TT version 5.202 (542) with gps-driver V1.20, but that should not be the problem because if the program can see al the states in the map it should also be able to navigate from state to state (and does so in the demo mode without gps on my phone).

Try to update to 5.202 (542) if possible, maybe that could solve your problem. Let me know if this works or else another solution has to be found.

I have TOMTOM 5.21 on my PDA. All is working fine :
Western-Europe-Map, complete USA-Map, etc.
Now the problem: if I try to put the different USA-MAPs onto the Card, like Utah, Nevada, etc.,
I can't switch to them, they are not known to TOMTOM.
I find out that these Maps have no **.mms File in(like Utah.mms).
Ma be that is the reason, so how can I create these Files or what do
I have to do, to get these maps work.
He, I just found out that the Guam-Map as aswell no *.mms in, and it is
working!! So there should be an other reason.
I'm happy about every idea or hint.

The maps I found to be working on XDA Mini S (9100) are Great Britain - v562, Great Britian Plus - v632, Australia - v568, Iberia - v562, Benelux Plus - v571, DE AT CH PL CZ Plus - v571, Scandanavia - v568, PL-CZ-SK-HU - v645

I am in the process of trying more, but am in desperate need of a working France map, as the one I have does not work.

PS - Most of the maps work on P910i, but something must have been changed in Navigator 5 for XDA, as most of the maps do not even show up in the change map list when loaded on the XDA.

Hey guys. I have a question.
I've tryed WesterEurope-MAP 6.05, where suppose to be included whole western europe in one 1.3Gb map.
I became suspicious, when I saw on http://www.tomtom.com/plus/services/mds.php, that WesterEurope map is actualy the size of 1,9Gb. Then I checked, and I found many places (in Austria) that simply don't exist on WesterEurope-MAP 6.05.
So the Question is:
Is WesterEurope-MAP 6.05 just beta "combined" version of 5.62 and 5.71 maps and We need to wait WesterEurope-MAP 6.32 or 6.45 or something?
or
Is WesterEurope-MAP actually less accurate with less details?

I was comparing DE-A-CH-PL-CZ-Plus MAP v6.32 and WesterEurope-MAP 6.05

Anyone tested the maps?

Hi,

I have TOMTOM 5.21 on my PDA. All is working fine :
Western-Europe-Map, complete USA-Map, etc.
Now the problem: if I try to put the different USA-MAPs onto the Card, like Utah, Nevada, etc.,
I can't switch to them, they are not known to TOMTOM.
I find out that these Maps have no **.mms File in(like Utah.mms).
Ma be that is the reason, so how can I create these Files or what do
I have to do, to get these maps work.
He, I just found out that the Guam-Map as aswell no *.mms in, and it is
working!! So there should be an other reason.
I'm happy about every idea or hint.

USA maps doesnt work with TomTom 5.21.
On your PDA, just copy cracked .exe file of TomTom5.0 in "System root\ProgramFiles\Navigator\" and run that file, when you need USA maps. It will work.
That's the sollution until USA v6xx maps are avalable.

I've got United_States-Map v5.67 where are all USA together in one 985Mb map.
I got it from some russian page, published here.
Then I have 50 separated maps v 5.66 (all together 966Mb)
I think that is the newest that exists.
