They sell it for the P910. But if you copy it on a smaller 128 memstick it should work on a P900 as well. This is what I read in a review...

It is taking a long time to find the program. One of the issues is that you can not buy tomtom uiq in any store (i did not find any). I have read from only 1 person that ordered it from the tomtom website and has received it....
I think we have to wait a little longer.. :(

I hope we can get it soon Alex. Route66 works well in the UK but the lack of ability to add Speed Cameras as POI is annoying. This would be really useful to have.

How do you know that the one on ebay is not a fake?

When a cracked version is available somewhere you would think that it is also available on the usenet, emule or on a forum like this. I have not found it anywhere. But I hope i'm wrong...

Can not be sure, contacted seller and assured it was ok, however the link has vanished now so you are probably correct.

PS. For people that would like to try a map. You have to make a directory 'maps' in the same place where you find the dir 'voices'. Copy all the map data to the maps dir and start tomtom. You will find that it will ask for the activation code...

Normally tomtom uiq shoud work with any other tomtom 5 map. It should not matter if it is a map belonging to a tomtom mobile nokia version or for a PDA.

Tomtom 5 can be found on Piratebay.

Are you saying that it is the same maps? Really? The screenresolution on PPC/PALM devices are greater than P910. Does that matter?

If it's the same maps it's great.

I guess we'll have to wait until the app has been cracked.

Listen up! Surfer76 from gsmfreeboard.com (Surfer from this Board) got the APP cracked. I tested it with the Canary Map from Alex_nokia from post #40 and it worked. So now I'll upload it and then you'll get the link.

Follow the file structure of the file you downloaded. this means putting everything as you see with the exception of moving the files to the app folder under system.

I'm not certain where the maps go yet.

Do you have a card reader? How are you transfering the files?

I am using desktopfilemanager. I use the dock to transfer files. Its shows the all file structures like a card reader.

I am copying now so I have d:\mmsemc\p-series\...

is the correct or should it be d:\p-series\

Ok the file structure on your memory stick is this.

Whatever letter your memory stick shows up as\MSSEMC\P-Series.

This mirrors the file you downloaded (It has MSSEMC twice.. ignore this). From the file you downloaded go into the p-Series folder and copy everything except the system file and contents into the P-Series folder on your card. You also create a folder here called maps where you put the various files for the maps (shocking eh!!)

Then from the downloaded file go into system\apps. Copy the folders TTMOBILE and TTNAVCONTACTS to your card in the system\apps folder.

Replace the original .app file with the cracked one.

Put your card in your P910i

you should now see TOMTOM.

It probably is how you are viewing it. Just assume it is there and work within the P-series folder.

the canary map I used to test has about 12 files in it. all those are in the folder I created called maps.

If the Uk map I'm downloading is similar you are saying just add all those files in maps as well? what do you do then if you want to remove the canary map information for example?

2) Delete the file SETUP
3) Open the PNA-file with NotePad
4) Rename map number to 562 (3rd line)
5) Save PNA-file
6) Copy the Map to the Storage Card

i will explain how i got TT5 working exept for the map maybe there's somethin else wrong

maybe the maps don't work. Anybody who tested that the maps Canary_Islands-Map and/or Hawai-Map work?

in system\apps\ i put the TTNAVCONTACS and Ttmobile folder

in maps I put my scandinavian map with the files directly in the maps folder, because at the moment I only run one map. If I were supposed to use two or more maps I had to have seperate folders for them i.e Scand, UK, Germany folders.

This setup works, atleast on my P910i.

thx my problem was that i used file manager for Symbian to explore the memorycard trough my phone, so i didn't realise that where the phone sees d: it is actualy memorystick\MSSEMC\P-series\.

I works now i screwed open my cardreader so my memstick duo fitted in there without adapter. put the data on there en it worked

If you want to have different maps on your memory stick, dont put them in a only /maps directory.
You need to create one folder by map with the name you want (ex: swiss-maps or Europe-maps..)
in the root of your memory stick !!!

"Roads of Europe" is a unique big map of europe... with major road, like motorway, main road, secondary road.

it's practical for the intercontinental ways !

On the A1000, you do not need the \MMEC\P-Series folders.

Just drop the folders in X:\Licences
................................X:\raster

Have just found this fantastic site for Points of Interest, they are all free and there is also a Speed camera overlay along with a voice file to give camera warnings. Just go to:

I just took the maps and voices from the Tomtom 5 on piratebay! Works great. Even looks like I am able to put the app + scandinavian map on a 128 MB duo for my other P900.

I was able to install the Scandinavian map + app on my P900, and there is still space on my 128MB card.

And it's working great!!

I think the Iberia map is corrupted... i downloaded it 4 times and the extraction stopped (CRC error on file Cline.dat and Faces.dat...)

And it's working great!!

Which map did you use? I get crc error when trying to unzip the Scandinavia map in this thread. (Have downloaded it several times)

Works perfectly - I even have the custom installed voices as well so it tells me when there is a Gasto coming up!

This is now my ultimate tool the P910i rocks!!!!

I am however disappointed with the new P990 ... I can't believe it has a keyboard! I much prefer a clear big touchscreen :(

I believe all TT5 maps no matter what platform - PPC or Mobile are all cross compatible.

Therefore any map you download will work on this UIQ version.

However can someone tell me what is this UK postcode addon that I see on piratebay? Is this more advanced than the one included in the UK plus map?

Currently is does not accept the whole postcode, it only take the first half then the second half I still need to find the road name.

Guys to make voices works for Tomtom 5 ,but the voices files under voices folder ,but it'll work only if it's on D: drive, so it's better to put all folders of Tomtom 5 at D: not see ,and for maps ,put the map folder at the root too,not under folder maps, so no need to make new folder called maps ...:-)

I've installed it right, I hear voice, but only parts of that, like: "After.." and not "After 100m right" or sth like that...
I think this is a bug from A925..
Nightcolor is the next bug. When I activate it, the backgroundlight switches off.
So.. has anybody an idea? Some workarounds or bugfixes?

I am comparing TOMTOM MObile 5 to Wayfinder, and I notice one big difference between the two where WayFinder wins. The rest TOMTOM is the winner hands down.
That issue is the voice prompting. Wayfinder keeps you on track with calculated warning at certain intervals before reach a move and also tells you "take a right here", or anything else for that matter at the point where you have to do it. However with TOMTOM the prompts are much less frequent and it rarely tells you if you have to keep right or left at freeway splits. Is there a way to increase the prompting.
In other words, are there conditional events that can trigger voice events which could be or have been coded for TOMTOM?

I also compared it to route 66 vs Tom Tom - I found the same thing for navigating without starring at the map all the time whilst driving Route 66 wins. It is a lot clearer in its voice commands and counts down to your turn, whereas Tomtom just gives a warning 300 yards before the turn then at the turn says turn - by which time I have already gone past it.

If it wasn't for Tomtoms better functions and ability to rotate the screen and insertion of POI I would definately choose Route 66 as there is less chance of me making the wrong turning.

I'm going to throw the POI files I have downloaded from the PocketGPS site into the map folder now and have seen posts which indicate that I need to simply copy the BMP and OV2 files into it.

The POI database shows quite a few folders in the root. The ones I am interested in is the "single file version" and the other is the "ov2 bmp files" folder. The "single file version" folder contains another folder called "ov2 bmp files" and has two files inside. Are these two files the ones I need to copy to my map folder?

If you go back to the root folder you see a "ov2 bmp files" folder which contains quite a few OV2 and BMP files. Are these the ones I need?

Any help appreciated.

For speed cams i use the single file ov2/bmp files just drop them into your map folder, then prefs/manage poi/warn when near poi.
then each month as they are updated download & overwrite them.

All 51 usa state maps are available.
It will be awesome if you can upload all of them somewhere. I don't really need all the maps of 51 states right now but they may be useful later on.

I test tt5 on my P900 and they work fine, now I have only one problem I need
An Iberia map less than 128Mb or a Portugal and Spain in separate maps.

I had the same error on my A1000.
Some kind soul informed me that for A1000 use, you do not use the same folder structure.
Do not use \MSSEMC\P-Series folder structure.
Just drop all folders in root of D:

its tf card error just make a format of it with your a1000 and than copy the files again on it for me it works now

SIZE 119MB.

It would be nice if Tom Tom wasn’t on the MSDuo! Tom Tom with voices uses 14Mb or so...

may be he can help with the 119MB iberia-Map when i posted it i did ask
