the solution not are only change keypad
make a general reset to the phone and it work well ,today are comun after flashing in v3 have troubles in camera, keypad,and display failures
after reset this work if not , flex the phone

try to change the flex cable- u can put even a non- working one- just to see that the buttons are working.

try to check the vol swicth ,if the vol swicth drity also can make the keypad flaut
i never see this solution on this forum so i will post it for all of you :)
this is soluton for motorola V3 keypad not working /only power on/off is working/
so you need any program which can upload flex....PST 7 is good and tested and i prefer it ........ use flex uploader and upload only fix
ps// open *txt file with winRAR
What about if we have a problem in the V3 with the Camera when u try to access the camera the phone hangs on and u cant do anything just Black Lcd and flex for this problem coz i tried all the super files and the latest flashes and still the same thnx bye

I have v3 with keypad fault, when replace lcd from another work fine, when I connect (faulty v3) display on another v3 I have same problem - only on/off working

I HAve some v3's with the same problem as gsm hanky. That is, keypad works ok with one lcd but does not work with another. (I tried a new flex cable but it made no difference)
Any ideas please??

Phone had no water damage at all. All upper keys seem ok when tested for continuity.

Sorry for my English.
All upper keys only seem ok. Look better. They can have small resistance. If all in norm, That change a loop of the keyboard. You can not see traces of water, she wonderfully gets on a socket under the external display.
Put new keypad and it will work fine...

the first thing we tried was to test with new keypad but it did not work AS YOU CAN SEE IN MY POST EARLIER. I noticed that all works ok with a new LCD but cannot find what's wrong with the old LCD....

in lcd part, under plastic glass, u can find flex connector if cleaning not work change swithes. B.R.

Same Problem With V3
Just Power Key is Working Nothing Else.
1st I try Repair PDS and Full Flash with SC No Luck.
After dat i Full Flash it monster pack R374_G_0E.42.09R with RSD lite 2.7 and also Keypad Fix file "KEYPAD_FIX_FLEX.hs"
Still No Luck.
ANy Reviews?

try hold * + # and power on. that can you see keypad functionality. if tel go to flash mode,write KEYPAD_FIX_FLEX.hs and enjoy:)

you must check switches in lcd panel. if one is blocked then keypad is dead

OK......I`m wondering why all of you discussing only the software prat of the problem into the HARDWARE REPAIR AREA!?!? And what about the hardware part?!? I have V3 which problem is not software, it can`t enter flash mode manual by pressing *+#+PB, and working only Power button!
Any advice for Hardware Repairing this problem will be appriciated!

I have a similar V3.
Keypad not work, only ON key gives beep.
but...
if turned off I *CAN* enter bootloader with *#+ON...
I don't understand. regardless of the above it is 100% hardware problem, I already flashed the phone, rebuilt PDS and uploaded the keypad_fix.hs, but no success..

2. IF no corrosion replace complete keypad ribbon.

Thats not helped in my case(V3i).
Can enter in boot mode but keypsd don't work too with brand new full LCD set.
Any solution?

customer bring to me one V3i with non working keypad.
I was cleaning this with isopropanol and reheating all around PCB,but not helped.
Was tryed with new flex ribon,not helped.
Than I was take one brand new V3i phone and have put in this damaged PCB but keypad still not working.
PCB from new V3i working well with old LCD set(from my customer).
In both cases I can put phone in boot mode(with #+*+Pow.button)
I think maybe is any of glass IC's near connector damaged,but I'm not sure.
Any idea?

Well that explains better! :)
Its from glass IC near connector 99%. Try take the off, put solder on them and put back on!
If that doesnt work there's not much more you can do! :(

first of all, sorry for my english, I`m from Argentina.
It is humidity!!! I ve figured out, everyone, or almost everyone, had one thing in common, the used to have their phones in trousers pockets, that, convined with human heat, and swet, humify the phone.
The Solution is easy, take out batery and SIM card, and using a hair dryer, give some hot air to the phone. Be careful of an excess of heat.
Hope it work, it worked fine to me

open the lcd side.. and clean the Fluxy connector and camera connectar... if still not working.. then my dear change the lcd.. in v3, v3i only this is the problem.. unless fluxy is broken..

sorry for reviving this topic but i flexed my phone with this,
what i did was i flexed it with RSD Lite without holding down the * and pound button. I just flexed it while my phone was normally on. I figured this would help my phone because it got water damaged and none of the keys on the keypad seem to work, however i CAN get it to boot mode using the above method.
Well anyways,
I flexed it with the above file and now my phones lcd is ****ed up. You know how when you flip your phone the LCD on the BACK of your phone has the sign of T-Mobile? Well, this has the sign of T-Mobile on the back LCD when it is unflipped. and when I flip it, it's exactly what it's supposed to be like unflipped.
can anyone help me?
