Razr V3 Getting Hot [Archive]

Dear all,

I have V3, as soon as I insert battery it starts getting hot. I tried with new battery but I can notice that only the phone is getting hot with both batteries. Ther's no liquid damage on phone and I am not suer which components are getting hot as mainboard is so small that it all feels hot!

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Please help me.

Change the PA, it worked for me.

try this.....diskonect GSM part from flat cable, now connect GSM par+new flat cable+display and power on.....if now phone not get hot just change flat cable.....otherwise problem is on PA or powerprocessor......regards

tried without the flex cable but it still got hot. I dont have new PA but i'll try removing it and i see how it goes from there...

I just had the problem the other day. Brand new V3 sold to a customer, came back and phone didn't work. I tried a new battery, it powered up, but was extremeley hot. Brand new in box it was doing this, and It totally ruined one new battery, before i realized that it was the phone. Lucky we just return to our vendor.. very odd

I've seen a Razr do this too - also a defective PA
