my first problem is that phone no open no flash taken , i chance the flex cample but nothing

look at my attached notes for the D500. check all voltage and clock signals on there. Also try reflow/replace the U400 (Power Management Unit).

1/ open phone again, check camera is properly attached on board. aso replace ribbon with a new one, maybe the first is falty..

2/ with main board in hand, make phone so it is sim reader down. now at top left of board is one small black square with some component around it. heat the black square for some seconds and you will now charge :)

3/ change again ribbon and see. you must check all components around speaker contacts are attached on board (specially coupling inductors which are blue and white with copper wire wrapped around).
make sure you have properly attached speaker not buzzer. speaker is on the LCD board, not main board.
if that all fails, try reflow the U300 from my diagram above. that is melody IC..

my problem in d500 was dead /cannot flash it or power it on/ .......so i pick up FLASH ic, clean all glue, reball it and successfuly flash BIN file, byt when i try to flash TFS allways error cannot mount TFS file system.......so i try with different flash from working phone again same error/byt phone start up normal withayt any other problem/.......so i put my flash in other handset flash it TFS zone and all is ok now..........cansome one provide any help onthis for future solving this problem withayt this slow operation?

*#8999*test# will enter you into test menu even without sim, if thats what u mean. if you mean ur phone is saying inser sim then you must replace PMU...

I have treid to read its info, it start going in tat mode but woul not stay in tatmode, and then faild to enter tat mode.

i think for your phone, you may have broken the infra red port, or made loose the solder connections when opening the phone.

use some low heat and air to fix a new one on the board and ur BT and IR should be fine :)

The with those D500 handset is Thes BT ID. U must calculate it , and correct it with one of many soft . like NsDongle or D Tools.


But the problem is soft who calculate the BT ID. Any Idea.?????????????

The seconde way is to change The Imei to one of the following , and correct the BT Id.

usually BT fail is hardware problem, but of course u must try to rewrite IMEI with NSdongle first. and cross fingers :)

Now i fixed the problem,
L805 was dead.
For all who have the same problem : check L804,L805; (directly under Speaker Contacts)
They are for impedance balance for higher fequences.

I've tried flashing a new firmware but somehow wasn't sure about the outcome and stopped it in the making, now the phone is DEAD, no way whatsoever to make it work, it doesn't charge, it doesn't get into tat mode anymore. I've even tried removing the little battery inside the phone but no luck so far, do I throw it away?

hey danman85, looks we got the same problem, phone doesn't switch on after bad flashing. cannot bloody believe the phone is actually dead, if it's roughly similar to a pc there must be a way to format it and put the lot back again, we'll have lost our data but at least we'll have our phone back... lemme know cheers

hi bro

to fix this problem you need to check the varistor near the camera button in the side of the phone.
Mako shore it to be ok ank original(change it if it isn't).
In every case tell me the risults and what does it display.

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my D500 after moving to Dubai from the UK, the only new sim cards available when tried on my phone said 'SIM CRASH'. But I tried someone elses sim card that was exactly the same but in use and it worked?! After thinking about the difference in card memory being the possible reason why it causes the error I thought I would try and use up some of the memory on my new card before inserting into my phone by putting it in someone elses phone and sending myself a message...low and behold it worked!! So as long as my new sim card is never compeletely empty when I put it into my D500 it works.
Please note this is just a tip, I found this through sheer desperation after being unable to find a mobile repair shop anywhere! Not sure if this will work for others but definitly worth a shot!:)

i had this problem before opened phone; water-damage around sim reader cleand very well re-heated a little put to-gether than d500 kept rebooting i took ust-pro2 and flashed handset with new flash file phone is now working 6 weeks perfect

When i used it first it was turning on and off normally, all the functions were perfect, after about 2-4 hours the phone was turnt off by me to change sim then wen turnt on again it sed 'welcomes' then 'goodbye' straight after.

Now when i press the ON button it doesnt even say that it just stays off. however, if i leave the fone for about 30mins without doing anything then press the ON button it says welcomes and goodbye like before. I have got an oriniginal charger, i used the usb wire to charge.....it charges sometimes n sometimes nothing happens. But the fone doesnt turn it...earlier toaday i turnt it on and it had loads of white dots like when turning on a TV with no signal. I dont know what to do.

When u say white dot's on the TV
do u mean like there no signal just a hazey picture on the fone m8

if so it's what i had with mine it's the motherboard where the ribbon connect's
there's a little black locking device sound's like it's broke or damaged
only going of what the guy told me that fixed mine m8

I dont think its anythign to do with signal coz wen i pressed the on button thats wat came, not moving dots jus millsions of mini dots......then the fone went off again...3 secs later i turnt on again and it sed please instert sim i was so happy so i took the battery out then the same thing started again.............i hope nothing wrong with it.....as i paid quite a large sum for a 16 yr old...£50 it was....lol not much considering a d500 but for me it is....got a buyer for £80 so need to get it fixed quick.

is the solder points applyed when ******* the new lcd,take off clean points resolder and ull find it will wrk fine and ull hav back-lights!!!

Hi. I had my d500 for 1 year now and suddenly start to having problems.

The phone is not plug in in any ways and is turn off, but keep showing the charger icon if it was charging but the phone if turn off and not plug in!

Also, when I try to turn on the phone, it ask for the sim card, even though the sim card is plug in.

If I take the battery off for 20 min or so, and then I plug in and start the d500 it start ok like if there wasn't any problem at all, but then it freeze after 1 ou 2 minutes.

What could be the problem? I never dropped the phone, neither opened, or flash it.

The Last thing I recall doing, I installed the google earth in my d500 one week before all this problems (by wap). By the way, google earth didn't work on d500, it says "can't load jpeg images" from google earth!?

I have 2 D500's, the one was hanging, couldnt flash it cos it wouldnt stay in TAT mode, would go out of it every 2-3 seconds, couldnt flash, so i short the internal battery, now the phone is dead and wont come on, HWK doesnt detect it either, any solutions for this? The second D500 has garbage on the display, the phone works 100%, but there are lines and garbage all over the screen, changed the flex and lcd, same problem. Could anyone please guide me as to how i can sort these 2 phones, many thanks.

Yesterday, the display suddenly looks like an untuned TV channel... not only black & white noise, but random color pixels.

I've already replace the flex cable because of other display visualization problems and the phone works ok for over two months but now this new problem has come out.

Maybe disassembling the phone I've made mistakes? Maybe the green ribbon has been compromised? It can be replaced with something other? How can I be sure that the flex cable's contacts are ok? I'm not really expert... any help will be appreciated...

My D500 phones 18 months old, suddenly the battery lifes gone from 7 days to 24 hours. Got new batterys, still same problem.........only other symptom is that ocasionaly it completely looses its signal, just get a phone icon witha red line thru it. Any one got any ideas please, also how do I get the case apart? found the 4 screws but can't figure out the top bit, don't want to bust it

I have changed the LCD as it was cracked.

Did this and the screen did not work, checked soldering, and was not lined up correctly.

Re-soldered it and now works but displays white screen, nothing else. Phone does work as it makes a sound when turned on

Had my samsung for almost 1 year, then start to ask to insert sim!? CAn´t do anything else... I tried to erase eeprom or something like that, but still nothing. I can´t flash it cause I don´t have the flash cable...

Everything is working fine, just only zooming image on lcd.

when trying to flash tfs part I get

I red somewhere in this forum, that is a hardware problem.

I think there's some physical problem with it as i gave it a little tap and it started working again, but shortly afterwards it went dead again! i don't want to keep having to tap it on the table to try and get it to work. Does anyone know how i can get it fixed? Will i have to send it ot samsung? how much will it cost?

Please help me. My d500 used to function perfectly except that it got a white screen now and again. I replaced the flex cable and it worked fine except the backlight did not work. I have two cable, USB and com with 9v. There are perfect.

But my phone can't enter in TAT mode, or recognized by any software, because when i press shortly POwer ON button, it doesn't do nothing, it power on.

I have removed the mebrane a found that if i press hard with my finger on top of where the 6 digit is it also works and also 2-5-8-0 work also ...obviously something is not making good contact but as to what it is i dont know:(

d500 when in a call the other persons voice is distorted and crackles. when turnin the loudspeaker on or with the speaker plugged in the voice is fine. its not the speaker as with another board its fine so its somethin on the board. any1 any ideas wot it is.

i might have the answer,i had this problem,find network but dosent ring out and when you ring the phone it said it was switched off,so what i did was full epprom resett,then disable all locks and bingo 1 phone working perfect:D

i think you need check the Power amplifier. you need measure current which phone get from BATTERy when pfone is OFF. if it 50 mA or more - change PA

When i flash the D500 with nspr I recieve this error if I flash with ust pro no problem handset is flashed but not working fine.It will start but then suddenly it is jumping to alarm settings in the phone and making some settings and then i receive a error message from phone.

d500 when in a call the other persons voice is distorted and crackles. when turnin the loudspeaker on or with the speaker plugged in the voice is fine. its not the speaker as with another board its fine so its somethin on the board. any1 any ideas wot it is.

Any ideas to what could be wrong?. The phone is not water damged or any other abuse.

check voltage on pin 9 up-right on flex conector, if is low then 3,6v change the power managemnt unit.

I dont think its anythign to do with signal coz wen i pressed the on button thats wat came, not moving dots jus millsions of mini dots......then the fone went off again...3 secs later i turnt on again and it sed please instert sim i was so happy so i took the battery out then the same thing started again.............i hope nothing wrong with it.....as i paid quite a large sum for a 16 yr old...£50 it was....lol not much considering a d500 but for me it is....got a buyer for £80 so need to get it fixed quick.

It sounds like you need to change the flex cable, flex strip and a brand new original battery. If possible wash the whole centre piece and try again with all the new items you have just bought. Give it a try! Good Luck!;)

I also have one here not whater damaged at all but same problem.....

I have removed the mebrane a found that if i press hard with my finger on top of where the 6 digit is it also works and also 2-5-8-0 work also ...obviously something is not making good contact but as to what it is i dont know:(

this totally 100% working,but no need do front an back of 6 key,i did bottom left corner,4 d500s all fixed same way,just warmed that corner up with hot soldering iron,also on 1 piece i had warm the 0 key also.:)

Read carefully please, problem is not simple :

1. Switching the phone on....OK...
2. Keypad tone is OK...it is possible to adjust level with buttons on left side
of the phone...up...down...
3. Voice recorder...recording and playback are OK.
4. Make the call....all is OK...sound is OK.
5. Receiving call...vibration is OK...not ringing...if answer now no sound in
the speaker and also no more keypad tone and no more playback sound !!!
6. If after switching on the phone go in Menu...Sound and tones...Ringtones
immediately all sounds are blocked (keypad tones, recorder sound, sound
during the call...).

It means if not use buzzer sounds trough speakers are OK...but first use of buzzer: if receive call and the phone need to ring or if go to Menu>Sound and tones>Ringing tones all sounds are blocked !!!

Switching off-on the phone reactivate all sounds through speaker (keypad tones...recorder sounds...correspondence sounds) until the first use of buzzer (trying of ringing or trying to set ringing tone).
reflashing the phone didn't help.
Any advice?

my problem in d500 was dead /cannot flash it or power it on/ .......so i pick up FLASH ic, clean all glue, reball it and successfuly flash BIN file, byt when i try to flash TFS allways error cannot mount TFS file system.......so i try with different flash from working phone again same error/byt phone start up normal withayt any other problem/.......so i put my flash in other handset flash it TFS zone and all is ok now..........cansome one provide any help onthis for future solving this problem withayt this slow operation?

I have a D500 that some keys was not working. I clean the phone ... close the phone. I power on and so far so good. But i notice a big heat above the conector. After a while the phone went dead, and I can't turn it on anymore . Also I use a the power supply to turn it on and when I connect the phone to the power suplly it interrupts the power, as it is short circuit ?.
Any help please on this matter. Look for an answer.
