got my box, installed box, installed software and when i try to read box info so i can update it i get this error....
can someone help

Fixed in new version DBSS 1.12 (http://dreambox.hk/setup.exe)
yes but still cannot use the box i have problems with the box because it asks to update firmware and i cannot update the box ..... i simply cannot i tryied in win98 in xp nothing ....
other way to update box?????????
a little info if update is based or same like smart -clip i never had once update problem with my smart-clip

Use IE 6.0 or higher.
Enable (http://www.dreambox.hk/forum/showthread.php?t=10) ActiveX.
IE 6.0.2900...........
and activex enabled

If you can't see the window of ACTIVX, it means that ActiveX is disabled or blocked.
Close yours firewall & antivirus.
1. How to Enable ActiveX control?
Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Internet -> Custom level
Go to ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Enable all ActiveX settings (check Enable or Promt)
activex is enabled ...antivirus is off, firewall , including the one from windows xp is off and still not working i know what i'm talking about ....
and why smart-clip update is working????

man belive me ... and smart-clip update is working fine
by the way tryied on 3 different computers
to my same problem
i use adsl conection maby that is problem
in other inet conection update ok
and why did you erased my reply?????????
i will say it again .....
and dream team wants to change my internet provider????????
or take the box to another city to update it?????
IT IS A BUG IN UPDATE CLASS
i want my box to work ...........

tryied on 3 computers and the same result on one of them with clean windows
activex enabled no antivirus no firewall reinstalled ax_db class and nothing

What version of Windows service pack do you have?
What version of DreamBox ActiveX installed in your browser?

Calm down and follow the instuctions of gsm dream please.
Experience shows that sometimes users omit some small detail and raise a lot of noise blaming support.
So be patient and check everything again pls. it wroks with others so it should work with yours.

i use winxp sp1 with internet explorer last ver and 1 connection Zapp to internet ann update oki but when i use winxp sp2 and direct internet conection(adsl) i can't update .

It was difficult to my too to run activex update app but after uninstall everything of Macromedia and install again by downloading from Softonic worked well at the first attempt. Please cOcO add me to msn/sonork or ICQ and I will try to help you mate

Same problem here. Smart-clip activex site works fine, so theres nothing wrong with browser/security settings.
I found the same problem in my desktop but suddendly worked well after uninstalling everything of Macromedia and installing again...

PS:It will be better to solve by GsmDream as they will short many problems easily cause seems to be a little problem with ActiveX software...Be patient guys

1. Change next position:
"Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" to Enable,
"Binary and script behaviors" to Enable,
"Download signed AcriveX controls" to Prompt,
"Download unsigned AcriveX controls" to Prompt,
"Initialize and script ActiveX contols not marked as save" to Enable,
"Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" to Enable,
"Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting" to Enable.
2. Also add http://dreambox.hk and http://www.dreambox.hk to Trusted Sites (check attached file)
3. Close your browser and delete AX_DB_CTRL_Class from C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files
4. Launch IE browser and go to firmware (http://dreambox.hk/firmwareupdate.html) update page

in v1.1.3 you can make the update direct from software
just use the buttons: <hardware>, <dream box>, <update firmware>
