The client program runs in a Series 80 device, in the foreground or in the background. The program is able to connect to a Bluetooth GPS receiver and transmit the received GPS location data (NMEA-0183) to a central database via GPRS.

You can configure the timers and events, which trigger the data send action. The data is sent in a compact UDP datagram, only a little over 100 GPRS bytes per message. This means that the data transfer costs are minimal compared to e.g. SMS.
Location tracking system

The central database can be a powerful SQL engine, which handles hundreds of mobile tracking targets. (Depending on the tracking frequency and resolution.) The database accumulates position data from the mobile phones being tracked. Each record in the database is identified by the IMEI code of the phone the data belongs to.

How to evaluate?

The central database solution is not included, but customers can use Aspicore''s test server in the Internet for evaluation and testing (http://www.toimii.com/gps).
Server interface and tools

Aspicore GSM Tracker sends data to the server as plain ASCII characters in an UDP datagram. You can write the receiving end program yourself by using UDP sockets, if you wish. NEW: You are free to use the sample Perl scripts or Java code to process the UDP datagrams and store them to a MySQL database. See Aspicore''s web site. Http is an alternative protocol for the UDP. Http data can be processed as shown in our PHP and ASP samples. There is a freeware Windows .NET PC utility to receive NMEA datagrams via UDP and send them to a standard GPS mapping program through a COM port.

Installation

Copy the SIS file into your Series 80 device e.g. with a Bluetooth file transfer. Then you can use the "File manager" in your device to find acgsmtrckr80.SIS in the "Communicator/My files" folder. Open acgsmtrckr80.SIS. The installation should start. Delete the file acgsmtrckr80.SIS, when the installation has finished.

There are alternative ways to install. You can use e.g. Nokia PC Suite or a MMC reader/writer.

I've covered Ogg Vorbis before, of course, but suffice it to say for now that it's the most efficient digital music format in the world. I will be using OggPlay MMF v1.6.6 » v1.6.7 S60 player posted in the forum and it can be downloaded from here (posted by humpc55,size is 197 kb) can also handle MP3 and AAC-encoded files as well, mind you, so you can go for whatever's most convenient for you.
But you'll notice from the screenshots below that, not content with making your smartphone sound like an iPod, we're going to make it look like one, too. Not externally, of course, though you're welcome to paint your device white and add the right logos(!), but in terms of looking right on-screen.
Apart from OggPlay itself and some music files in .ogg, MP3 or AAC formats, copied from your hard disk onto your smartphone's expansion card, you'll need the file iPogg2.sis

As usual in a Symbian install, there's the choice of installing to your internal or expansion disks. OggPlay skins have to be on the same disk as the main player application itself, but don't worry because the files are tiny (16K in total). Best to keep player and skins on the internal disk and all your music files on the memory card.
Unusually for an installation, there's an extra question to answer. You'll need to check the top box if you want the new iPod skin to actually get installed, but the second one is optional. If you check 'Splashscreen', you'll get an extra graphic shown when starting OggPlay, as shown in the next step.

Finally, start up OggPlay as normal. If the iPogg skin gets picked up OK, and if you checked the 'Splashscreen' option, you should see this screen for a couple of seconds. It's an iPod-like boot up image, for extra realism when showing off OggPlay to all your friends and colleagues!
And so to the main event. Here's OggPlay running the new iPogg2 skin. The controls work in the same way as they always did (and you can configure everything in 'Options | Hotkeys'). Now, apart from the white plastic and overall capacity, you effectively have an iPod inside your phone!

If for some reason OggPlay started up with a different skin (perhaps because you'd fiddled with skins before), it's easy to change over whenever you like. Go into 'Options | Skins' and simply pick the one you want. 'McNuOggPlay', by the way, is the name of the default skin that comes with the program.

How to get started

There are 3 top views in the program: Status view, Rules view, and Rejected calls history view. You can switch between them with joystick left/right.

Big lack of apps for the Nokia N80, mine is arriving next week and at the moment I'm tempted to keep it in the box and carry on using my trusted apped up N70.

Any other N80 owners out there a bit cheesed off with the none compatability of the old apps to the new OS system.

Example

You have an old computer and it wont run new software

You upgrade to a new computer (All the bells and all whistles) and it will run all the new software and the old.

Now Nokia....................

You get the new phone (Bells and whistles) and it wont run the old software!!

yo bro u can backup da number list on ur mobiles as contact.csv...now by use filemanager u can transfer that by infra red, cable data or bluetooth to ur pc. On ur pc try rename thats file (contact.csv to contact.txt) and then open by notepad, or i'll send thats file and brochure soon

Unlike similar programs, Contacts Manager+ is able to save (export) into textual file virtually all data from the contacts database of the phone. Contacts database transfer between phones using synchronization with PIM (e.g., MS Outlook or Lotus Notes) might be incomplete (lossy) - especially in the case that contact cards in the communicator or smartphone contain more fields then contact cards in the PIM are able to accept. Export using Contacts Manager+ keeps also hidden items as well as hidden field properties.

As a result of export, you will get delimited CSV/TXT file in Unicode with data ordered into "columns". Export function supports also multi-fields (repeating fields) and fields with user-defined description, and conceded and hidden fields, hidden subtypes (properties) as well as special fields, are also handled properly. Result file can contain also group definitions and other supplement records. Parameters of the result (CSV/TXT) file can be defined in Settings - according to the user's needs. Exported file can be imported into a spreadsheet or database application on PC, or (again using Contacts Manager) into a S60 phone, Nokia 9210/9290, Nokia 9300/9500, Nokia 7710, or SE P800/900/910, etc. And after conversion to NCC format, you can load contacts also into an older Nokia Series 40 phone.

When i have installed it ,the message shows the version is too Old,please check the new version on menstral.net,and the program closes,
please revert what to do with that,Will there be new software you will upload or i have to do some Changed

To change a screen saver then install that and replace first one then go to ph/themes/edi/screen saver/change back to date and time /back to themes/again edit and select new screen saver that will work

While this last app is open, you can hear a series of clicks coming from the computer. It actually sounds scary, as if it was a virus or something.
