Problem is that the phone won't allow or Gmail won't allow the phone
& my account to talk to each other...something about SSL.

So after reading this forum and others regarding this problem
I have downloaded ProfiMail v 2.51 and set it up according to
what others have posted; This concerns the ports 995, 687 & 465.
Not to my surprise my phone & my Gmail account still are not
talking to each other!

I went a step further and configured the "Mailbox" on the 6600
own stuff in the hopes that it may also work in sync with
ProfiMail...not surprised to find things are still not working.

I live in Malaysia and use the DiGi network and haven't got much from
them in regards to solving my problem either so I'm broadcasting
a plea to you folks and am hoping somebody will come to the rescue.

My phones firmware is version 5.53 and dated 30/12/04. It's one
of the limited editions (so they say) Nokia 6600 all in black.
I'm trying to use ProfiMail 2.51 in trial version and have
downloaded a couple earlier versions (cracked) from here.

I reckon my problem is in me putting in the stuff for the phone
and ProfiMail and not the Symbian SW. Then again who knows!

If someone could help me it would be really appreciated and

try 2 check

1. Does ur service provider support GPRS CONNECTION??

2. If YES try to get the GPRS Settings from ur provider or sms (jus call customer care..)

3.If u hav all these settings MAKE SURE ur providers SETTINGS are set to DEFAULT in ur phone!!

What occurs when you want to install it?

Physically, memory cards are quite fragile pieces of high technology, susceptible to damage from various silly things like excessive heat, condensation, strong magnetic fields, physical damage from rough handling and/or bending! (similar to most electronic devices then..)

Given the natue of mobile memory card products, they are constantly being taken in and out of some form of interface with a mobile phone, a camera, a laptop, or desktop PC, or a separate memory card reader. The number of different devices they have to be able to interact with is in the thousands.

It is not too surprisingly, then that sometimes the state of the file system on the memory card can get damaged.

This may happen for a number of different reasons, including:


> removing the card from a device whilst an application is trying to read/write to it.. (Just be patient...)
> battery drain on a device whilst in use meaning an insufficent voltage failure whilst writing to the card.
> a poor implementation of the MMC standard on the device using the card
> poor connectivity software drivers on the device or the Windows PC/Mac
> physical damage like card or device being dropped, bent, getting wet etc...
> lots of others i am sure..


As often as not, the problem is not terminal for your memory card, but just a software issue ( or in physical terms, it could be called "a temporary disalignment of the all the bits and bytes on the card").

The fix for this problem is the same as for any other file storage device (like a floppy or hard drive) with corrupt or invalid file system, namely; re-format the file system.

The idea behind this program is good, but there are a few caveats. For people not in your Contacts store, I found the long winded readout of the sender's phone no and time of sending unnecessary and tiresome. After all, you don't already know the person, there's not much point in simply being read a 12 digit string. Also, TWT SMS Reader, despite its fluency with names and words, amazingly can't handle common abbreviations and emoticons, as used a lot in text messages. So ETA and and l8r are all read literally. Also disappointing was the way you can't get back to re-reading old messages - the program only works while a message's flag is set to 'new'.

I liked the way you can send potential quick replies with a couple of keypresses, with the replies themselves read out aloud should you still not be able to look at the screen. Interestingly, there was a choice of half a dozen 'voices' for the software to use, although I found the default one to be the clearest, even if it did have a slight German accent.

TWT SMS Reader is a great idea and so nearly 'there'. But it fails to go the last mile and this is reflected in the score of 76%

Forget using the phones built in email software (the one in Messages).
It just doesn't seem to work with SSL based webmail like GMail.
Use either Lonely Cat Games ProfiMail or Movamail's Mobile Mail.

After spending a few frustrating days trying to configure
either one of these I found out that what I needed wasn't just
the WAP settings from my service provider but also their INTERNET
settings. These settings were just 2 lines of 7 text characters
added to 2 places on my 6600 but it made a world of difference
when connecting via ProfiMail or Mobile Mail. Thanks to Dead
Soul 4 da info on this...yer right...once ya know...tis simple!

So I'll pass the "Knowledge".....

Go to Menu, then Tools, then Settings and open Connection.
When Connection is open press the joystick again to open
Access Points. Then create a new Access Point and make sure
it is an INTERNET access point. Mine is named DiGiNet.

Get the names from your service provider and type them in like this;
Connection Name (what your service provider gives you, Mine is DiGiNet &
typed in just like you see it here both in upper & Lower case)
Data Bearer (leave this alone)
Access point name (whatever your service provider gives you and this must
be typed in in lower case. Note it is usually the same as Connection name.)
User Name...leave alone
Password...Leave alone
Authentication...Leave alone
Homepage...Leave alone

Then open the Advanced settings by clicking options...Advanced settings
and just have a look but don't type anything in unless your service
provider tells you to do it.

Click the Back button to return to the page in connection settings
that displays Access Points, GPRS & Data Call. Open GPRS and click on
GPRS Connection....When Needed. Then scroll to Access Point and give
it the same name as you did in Connection Name (both upper & Lower case
characters) that you got from your service provider.

Exit the Settings menu when you have done this and then configure your
email software. With ProfiMail go to the Advanced settings and make sure
that the connection you will use is the new INTERNET connection you just
made and not your service providers WAP settings. With Mobile Mail you
fill out a few lines of text on 2 pages and then when the phone prompts
you for what connection to use make sure you also use the new INTERNET
connection you just made...not the WAP settings.

When your software is configured...connect & enjoy.

Personally I like Mobile Mail better than ProfiMail because it's a small
Java App and I really don't need to look at pix...etc...etc, just the text.
Plus I find it faster than ProfiMail...both are great Apps tho...

Most of the problems were caused by old firmware, the newest FW for Nokia 6600 is 5.53.0.

I've come to notice that my Nokia 3230 is not playing all midi files. I had lots of midi files that I used to play on the mobile but now it is playing only few of the midi files but other midi files even though they are in the correct format with .mid extension are not being recongised as midi files and it says unknown format. i have installed mobile drive on my pc. and i am using nokia 3230, and when i connect my mbile via cable it is not shown in the mobile drive, but it is working good in nokia pc suite phone browser ...
so what is the problem, mobile drive is registered, but it is not working with my nokia 3230..

i have installed profimail on my mobile it is not registered, so i want to register it and configure it, what should i put in incoming mail server . & outgoing mail server & server type,

configuration for yahoo, hotmail ,

like for gmail pop.gmail.com for incoming and smtp.gmail.com for outgoing mails and 995 & 465 port addresses, so what are for yahoo and hotmail.


post with examples if u can pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........


and when i tried to send a file via bluetooth to other mobile , my mobile shows a messege that "" not enough space delete some data first, "" so is there any solution ,


sorry mobile mania there i have already visited that site but they right there that contact your service provider ,,so i need help here,,,,,,,

Hi dear use opera for fix all the errors with opera your device will be a computer .i am also using here gprs in my 6630 and i have download 80mb file through it also you can surf all internet simply using opera.
