View Full Version : TomTom 5.2 and PPC6700 wont load USA maps

I have TomTom 5.2 and loaded the provided Benelux map and everything works fine, however when I load the USA maps to the storage card in the same directory as the Benelux map (storage card root director eg StorageCrad/Ohio-Map) it fails to recognize them. I have even tried the latest crack to see if that would help and it didn't. I can load all European maps but none of the USA maps. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

Hi Guy,
some times the problem is with any files that aren't present in Map folder. Did you ceck if you have *.cfg file in all your maps, because this file is in use to PPC to view a map.

I do not have the cfg files, how do I create a cfg file? I can't get the tomtom installer to work with the USA maps so I just loaded them directly onto my sd-mini card. Thanks.

Hi dude, I know you put maps on your card, but with smartphone *.cfg file isn't in use with TTMobile 5; with PPC you have to use TTNavigator 5 and maps needs *.cfg file.
I'll have to control a USA map if work with my MMC phone card.

I don't quite understand this last post. I have WM5.0 and have successfully loaded the European maps. However when I try to load the USA maps without the .cfg files they fail to show up in the avalaible maps selection page. What am I doinfg wrong.
i have the same problem with my smarthpone motorola i930 running windows mobile 2003. but i haven't try to load any other maps but usa. can anybody help me. where to put the maps and or how to configure the program to reconize it

So no one else has a problem getting tomotom USA maps to work with WM5.0?
i installed the sd version with great britan maps
in the great britan folder i noticed the cfg file.
i copied this file over to the canada-map folder.
renamed the file canda-map.cfg
and tom tom now recognises the canada map
doesnt work with washington map for some reason

Here is the Connecticut map but it only works with TomTom 5.0 even if you have TomTom 5.2 installed just replace the TomTom.exe with Version 5.0 ( somwhere in this forums ) file and the map should start working.

Anyone have the entire latest US regional maps? The entire US map is too large for my 1GB minisd stick with all the other apps, movies and music I have on there. I d/l'd a 4GB DVD of US maps but they were old maps and won't work with 5.21. The individual state maps are nice, but I can't do a multistate trip.

To find maps, your TomTom program should be compatible with its maps. If your TomTom is ver. 5, it will find all maps (ver 562 or up to ver 567) at the same place you installed the base map (benelux). If your TomTom is ver.5.21, it will allow only ver. 566 maps shown.
I can find any maps (old or new version) with TomTom 5.
This has been driving me mad now for a few weeks. I'm also trying to get USA maps (only need Florida for our upcoming holiday) working with my TomTom V5.21.
I have UK maps installed and working 100% (used on a trip to the UK a few weeks ago. Was brilliant) but I'm having big problems getting a Florida map working.
I've downloaded a few of the Florida maps posted on different forums on this website, but as yet none will work for me (Tom Tom does not see the maps).
I understand that you can use Tom Tom version 5.0 which should see all maps but I've read about serious issues trying to pair bluetooth GPS receivers with Tom Tom 5.0 (this was fixed in the 5.21 release) so I would prefer to stick to 5.21.
To get the UK maps to work I had to create a text file called CurrentMap.cfg. Within the text file I wrote: & \Storage Card\Great_Britain-Map\ . I Saved the text file as CurrentMap.dat within My documents\TomTom.
Do I need to do the same for the Florida maps? (ie. change & \Storage Card\Great_Britain-Map\ for & \Storage Card\Florida-map\)?
Just to try it out does anyone have the cracked TomTom.exe version 5.0 which they can post here? I tired a search on this forum but cannot find it. any other help would be much appreciated.

There is just one problem with extracting the files. I can extract most of the files but there are 3 files that are not extracted and there is no way of getting the maps to work without these 3 files. I always get the message that the password is not correct even though I used exactly the password given on this site. Does anybody know why I can't extract the 3 files? The files are "cline" and "faces" and another one but I can't remember the name right now! Is there anyone who had the same problem and found a solution?
I really hope anyone can help me out with this because I want to travel to the States soon and would need these maps asap!

what are you using a Mobile Phone or a Pocket PC ??
- for Mobile there's TTMobile, v5.202 is last one
- for PPC there's TTNavigator, v5.21 is last one
but what maps you'll need to use ??
- USA map v5.66 need TTM and TTN v5.00
- USA map v5.67 need TTM and TTN v5.2

Hello, i joined this forum just right now, I HAVE TT Navigator 6 on my PDA, can anyone post the USA Regional maps because the maps posted are not there, they've been removed,,,

Gangadhar my friend, it seems you have everything with you. I am looking for latest software and maps for USA for my cingular 8125. please send me the links. May be I am missing the activation part, because i am getting 'NO MAPS FOUND' no matter even I loaded all the US maps. PLEASE HELP ME OUT TO INSTALL THE MAPS.
