What cable did you used? I get only errors..... :( Can you please post cable schema ...?

I have now connected a standard Alcatel Data cable ald the other Code Readers work, I mean from GSMCity etz. but this program writes only PowerON and then TimeOut and that's all... What is here wrong? Where to put this 9V power supply? And for what is this 9V if other programs work? We have the following situation here, and are a little stuck. Can someone please give us a little hint here?
Situation :
We've got a E-159 , soldered a comport cable, as shown on many precious showed pins. 2 ground / 3 RX / 4 TX, and started VLE5 without testpoint.... But without any results...just time-outs. The other thing is, we've tested the communication with hyperterminal...and there, we're getting lots of data on our screen. So.... What's wrong here?
In VLE5, we start the program first, then we click once on "the bulgarian button", "power on" is shown, then we start the cellphone with simcard in it, and of course battery in it..... (otherwise the phone doesn't start...duhuh..) So, anyone??? We can't figure it out here.....

Thanks TheRascal for your reply, but could you please be somewhat more specific. Unsuported Version of what? What's the difference then in all the E-159's in whole Europe? And for which models does it work and for which doesn't it work. I think that there are many guys more that would be very interested in the answer to this question, if what you say it's true. Reading this board, there are guys from all over the world. And further more raises it the question, "What is the reason, that it doesn't work?" We ourselves, know a little bit of programming, perhaps someone can explain to us the missfailure here, so that we can do someting about it. Perhaps there is someone that would be interested of sharing the source of the program with us, so that we can work together on perhaps solving this problem.
When you like in this case, you can also PM me for this reason.

Are you sure about that pinouts? Why is it that in most pictures the RX and TX are reverse then? And why is it that with your pinouts-description, there is no data at all, with for example hyperterminal? (See my posting before!)

Thanks Microera, for the light on the pinouts-case. But still we have no luck here with the dutch version of de E-159..... The readout stays limited to garbage....
Regarding to TheRascal's remark, for being an unsuported version.. it seems that this would be the case here. So, good for all of you who done it out there! Here in Holland we've got nada! Any kind of help is welcome here to find out more about this.... so if someone still has some wise remarks about it, please let us know.
For completion : We tried almost all proggie's for reading out the data. Results : Nothing (Vle5) / Wrong Answer from phone (ESeries Loger) etc etc.... and from hyperterminal.... lots and lots of data-garbage!
