View Full Version : USB-SMART not find(1)

I
just recently bought a USB-SMART dongle, received it yesterday, installed the drivers, did the upgrade and ran SEMC_Tool_v65, had no problems, unlocked a V600i successfuly. Today i got in a K608i which i need to flash, but every time i start SEMC_Tool_v65 i get the error "USB SMART not find(1)". Try running the maintenance tool and i get the error "Dongle not find". In device manager under smart card readers i can see 'USB-Smart JCOP BlueZ smartcard reader'. Could someone please help me resolve this issue as i dont have that much of time with this phone.

Try a diferent usb port...... open the dongle and check the card ...

Thank you for your reply. I have tried 3 different ports on my laptop, also i tried it on my PC with 4 different ports, still the same. The dongle has warranty stickers on the sides, if i remove them my warranty will be void. Is there no other way to sort this out? Mr. Zulea, please sir, i really need your help urgently in this matter, thank you.

From what you say, seems card not make contact inside dongle.
If dongle have warranty seal, please contact your supliar for help in this matter.

Man you have problem with drivers uninstal and instal again...
Thank you for your replies. I have tried everything, i just opened it and checked the card, the sim holder is missing a leg on the one side, but even after replacing the sim holder, same problem, i have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, no luck. Anything else i can try?

Could be and could not be ...plz dont say this as its for sure;)
My dongle still works fine with first drivers supplied long time ago and also I have already updated the dongle to latest firmware;)
Sure.... its worth a go before removing the stickers ;)
One myne i cant remenber if there was a sticker...or maybe dongle was so cheap I did not think twice about removing it:D :D ........... We run bigger risks with customers phones... so why not with our own stuff:D

Try and put the dongle in with no cover (chassis) and press or wigle the card wilst also trying on the software...

Thank you so much guys, really appreciate all the help. I am busy cleaning up all the usb related drivers off my laptop, lets see is that helps in any way.
I just uninstalled all my usb drivers, ie. just recently installed NEC E338 usb drivers together with crassy 5, still no luck, also got a new chipset driver for my motherboard, still same error. What i dont get is it worked fine for the one phone that i unlocked, but today im getting those errors. Any other suggestions that i could try out pls?

unplug dongle....erase:
\windows\INF\UsbSmart.inf
\windows\system32\Drivers\UsbSmart.sys
\windows\UsbSmart.dll
Plug back and reinstall newr ones.
... I still think you should plug dongle with no cover and play with the card....check solder etc...

think the card has lost contact with the surface, may be a croned dongle, if you have vygis or sst or infinity, you can try this card in them and see if it works!
Thank you. I dont have any of the dongles you mentioned. I bought it off the resellers list from www.usb-smart.com, so i doubt it would be cloned. Is there any other way i can test the reader or the card?

On myne ...under card readers I only have:
"USB-Smart JCOP BlueZ smart card reader" :confused:
Try disabeling the others you have?? maybe .....

I did a system restore to the time when it worked, and thats the way it was when it worked for the V600i, but it doesnt seem to work now, the only thing changed was i worked on a NEC E338, flashed it via usb and installed the drivers for it, also, i installed Crassy 5, which i have removed, still doesnt work, have no idea what to do now...

I have crassy 5 installed and also flashed 338 na dno probs here...
prblem must be in the card:confused: you stryed cleaning it with you finger?.. also apply pressure to it when starting the software??
Running out of tips here m8.... i think next thing after that is your reseller :(

Thanks mate for all the help, i have tried applying pressure to the card, cleaned it as well, tried running the maintenance software as well as SEMC, still the same error, dont know whats happening, and i have to return this K608i in the morning, have no idea what to do. :( Have emailed my supplier, hopefully he would be kind enough to give me another one, have my fingers crossed, have only had it for a day and am already pulling my hair! Mate, do you sell these?
just buy an usb-hub with extern power-supply, plugin the usb-smart dongle and your problem will be solved.
some dongles need ext. power, but i dont know why

Because of nforce chips on motherboard in combination with AMD 64!
Thanks for the replies. My laptop has no nforce chips on board, its a centrino based laptop with an intel graphics card. I spoke to my supplier and have sent it off, hopefully my problem should be sorted, i think there was a problem with the dongle itself, will post once i receive my new dongle.

Putting USB-Smart card in this readers can damage the smartcard!!!

after uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the device manager, I successfully updated my dongle! I thought my dongle was dead already.:)

take silver casing off dongle conect dongle to usb port should work on some computers casing on dongle does ot allow you to push the dongle right in usb port works for me just try before i did this i was getting error all the time also clean smart card

i've got problem too,maybe ur usbsmart not plug in port very well, or ur usbsmart have space with the case too much try to close the space case

well it works.. just remove your all other smart-card dongles and connect only usb-smart it will work.. i think the same problem also exists for ust-pro2
with connected cruiser or any other smart card ust-pro-2 also not work.. (may be increased security)
no need to update smart card

please make sure that u have not just copied semc on to desktop thinking that it is a sshort cut,it wont work it has to be be all in 1 folder then it will work fine,or try reinstalling complete sw,thank u,u can contact me any time,
