Unlocking LG U8380 [Archive]

hi all.

i'm new here so please excuse me if this has been covered earlier. i have just bought a new lg u8380 mobile phone over ebay not knowing it would be locked and need it to be unlocked. could someone please give me step-by-step instructions on this seeing that i'm a novice at this.

excuse my ignorance folks but would someone be kind enough to explain to me in layman terms how i can go about unlocking my lg u8380 mobile phone. i bought it just recently over ebay, brand new in box, and would love to give this to my son as a gift but it would be pretty worthless being locked.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's beautifull your advertising our software (Ser-rem)

but it's not free.. only info reading is for free. Unlocking and flashing you need a credit. And for the people with the message that soft can't find phone.. you need to install your usb cable+cruiser dairect unlock.........................8380

to lautoka,
first thing to do is to buy an unlocking device for your lg3g, i suggest u to buy smart usb tool....not only lg3g is supported, also ericsson sharp,,, etc. somehow u learn from it.

i think that is clear that you can't unlock the phone for free!..
you can unlock it online...
... or, go to a local unlocker from your town, and he, with a special box will unlock the phone 4 u...
... or, as juts djuts said, buy a box and onlock your phone and earn money unlocking ohter phones... believe me it's easy

thanks for all your replies. that box to unlock the phone - can someone give me some details about this, i.e. what it is called, where i can get it and approx. price. i am in sydney australia but i suppose it can be ordered from overseas if need be.

Hi lautoka, as juts_djuts suggested, USB-Smart seems to be one of the best tools for your application. If you can do a serach on eBay.au, you should be able to find one less than AUD100. Or else do a search in this forum and there are many online retailers who can assist you.

thanks all. i finally managed to get my phone unlocked for A$30 at chinatown, sydney. seems to working fine and son is rapt.
