How has been the experience of persons using this clip ?

I am having some difficulty in getting this clip to open phones. I have read the manual and can recognize the various stages, but there is no clear indication of when a phone should be unlocked.

Like smart clip which has a steady green light or a red light if error, the Piranha clip lights keep on flashing indefinately.

most of the phones I have tried with piranha are still locked after several tries and I have to use cruiser to unlock them.

What is your experience ?

How long after press power must one wait / sign to know the phone is unlocked ?

Well the new update has not been released yet, so not sure what way it will be. JIC do not post on here, but you can post on their own support forum or email them if you want.

Forget Mtony and his 1 man personal vendetta. Its becoming a joke..
Many clips from last batch have been found to be faulty due to **** manufacturing problem so send back direct to JIC and it will be swapped for a working one.

I have had this clip for 2 months now & I have only managed to open 2 LG's, as for unlocking Sony Ericsson's it just doesn't happen, you follow the instructions step by step & the phone is still locked.

I contacted my reseller who says "update the clip again" but still it will not unlock SE.

Simzmobiles even tried to unlock a K750i with my clip & it failed so it wasn't down to anything I missed or did wrong.

I wonder if JIC are aware of these clips not doing what they are supposed to do, I keep reminding myself to contact Mick at JIC & get this resolved but there never seems to be enough hours in the day.

I will post the reply I get from JIC once I contact them.

i use piranha clip, and i think this is one of the best clip for se and lg. first time i had also problem to unlock phones coz i did not maintain the process that need to unlock phones. i am happy with it. if other tools can not open any se or lg piranha clip can unlock that. i worked with some complicated phones for unlock with piranha clip success. just only one lg u 8380 i could not unlock with it and not with any other tools.

it's a very good tool, just follow the instructions.

seems you have a better understannding and can clear these up

how can you tell by the clip that a phone is unlocked ?

how lonbg should you wait after pressing power to check if phone is unlocked ?

if it did not unlock..how do you know at which stage/ what you did wrong ?

Ive had my piranha clip for about 4 months and unlocked about 8 Lgu81xx fones and about 15 k750i phones and only recently having problems with k700i and t610 phones.
The instructions seem clear enough to me.

Stages
1. led2 is on for 1 second, led1 blinks fast
2. led1 blinks slowly 10 times, led2 is off
3. led1 blinks fast for 10 seconds, led2 is off.
(3. During this time clip is waiting for ignition of lg or se phone.)

Unlocking
connect phone to clip (both powered off)
connect power to clip
wait until stage 3 (led1 blinks fast for 10 seconds, led2 is off)
power on fone (led1 will stay lit and led2 will flicker for approx 10 seconds)
when both led1 and led2 stay on and phone will reboot (approx 4 seconds)
phone will be unlocked

I havent tried any other models but this procedure has worked on all the k750 and LGs Ive needed to unlock since buying this clip;)

simple procedure for all se and lg:
1. connect cable with phone and clip.
2. connect power clip (i used 9v adapter, i think that's good to use adapter not battery)
3. clip blinks left light fast for recognition of telephone, then right light starts flashing slowly,
4. just after right light starts flashing press the power button of the phone for 2 secs.
5. clip will start unlocking by showing lights blinking and will end with unlocking with showing two lights on with out blinking.

* remember use 9v adaptor for every successful unlock.
because se k750i, w800i z520i needs extra power during unlocking.

because se k750i, w800i z520i needs extra power during unlocking.Sometimes its not possible to use 9v adapter (ie if in market etc) so I use 9volt power pack (as used in remote control cars) with power plug adapter this gives total of approx 9.6v @ 600mA compared to a pp3 battery of 9.5v @120mA and this works for me plus I can charge it up from car cigar lighter socket;)
You can make your own with 8x 1.2v Nicad in series.

Mine used to unlock k700 until last update, even though I still think its a great piece of kit.

some clips have usb fault because cyprus supplied a batch of faulty chips. If the clip is faulty send it back to jic and it will be replaced

Forum : http://209.15.85.5/threads/index.phpIs there anyway of visually seeing if the clip has this faulty chip in it? I dont want to send this valuable clip back if its just a bug in the software thats causing it not to be able to unlock where it did before.;)
