I always come to this forum to download the last version of Widcomm, and I think that it's my turn to help :) . In the Downloads page of Logitech site, I have found the version 5.0.1.2500 inside the Setpoint software, and it is aviable in 15 languages. I think it won't be very difficult for you to extract it ;)

Sorry for my english & enjoy it :D

I just wanted to post the same news, but you were faster ;)

The new version is running fine for me and Phantasm's "License Patcher 1.6" is still working.

Download Widcomm 5.0.1.2500 multilanguage Win32 & Win64 (http://www.filefactory.com/?c4227d)

megaupload will be slower to download than filefactory (except for those three people who have a premium account :p )

Cracking reminder
In my opinion, the best (safest) way to crack Widcomm is using the License Patcher as it will not modify any executable files (which could lead to instability).
If you then want to get rid of that annoying trial nag screen, do the following :
-set your clock to +5 years
-wait for the nag
-set the clock back to the correct date again
The nag will not show up for the next 5 years anymore... ;)

Some new dongles need the patched files also,
try to make some of the new dongles (like Conceptronic CBTU2)work only with the licence patched and you will find a nice "Bluethooth device not found", it won´t be found till you patch the files! :)

Man thanks for the answer, but lets cut this news groups attitude. One of the reasons people are comming here is to ask questions. Regards...

It may help somebody so I installed 5.0.1.2500 and after reboot it asked me for the licence and it did not matter that my BT device is Broadcom 2045 2.0. So I ran the licence patcher. It worked and then I had to change the date to 2012 and wait for the nagging message with the number of days to show up and then set the date back so that the message will not show untill 2012...

btrez.dll is solved
At the installation distributive , win32\setup.ini delete all additional languages - for example, rewrite section :

[Languages]
count=1
default=409

and remove BT drivers, and install it again. Installation must be at English

Finally figured out how to get rid of those annoying nag requests without changing your clock.

Attached is my WidcommLicensePatcher version 17.

If you use this to patch the registry directly it will now automatically patch the registry to use your selected device and set the nag dialog not to appear for the next 50 years.

If you use this to create a license.dat prior to install it will also create a license.reg which you can run after the install which will also patch the registry to prevent the nag appearing.

This works for both 32 and 64 bit versions of widcomm.

To use this program is simple. just Install widcomm and select Cancel when it says that a bluetooth device could not be found. Once the installation is completed simply run the program and select your device from the list and click save. If your device is recognised in the provided .inf files then all should now be fine. If not you will have to edit the .inf file manually.

Phantasm4489
05-02-2006, 23:27
Also here are license.dat and license.reg files that you can use to install 5.0.1.2500.

Simplyreplace the existing license.dat (in whichever directory for the correct 32 or 64 bit version of widcomm) with the one in this archive

Install the software and then once the software is installed, double click on the license.reg included in this archive and import the settings to get rid of the nag screen.

Here is my problem. I installed the 2500 from the 2nd download site posted here. Installed it. Ran the 1.7 license patcher. All is well, except the Serial port shows com 0 and only com 0. Version 1200 allowed me to change the com port if need be. The problem is, my HotSync does not work with BT because I cannot set the HotSync to Com 0. I have only com 1 and com 2. How do I change the BT Serial device to one of the other com ports or how do I change the HotSync to com 0???

TIA

So A2DP still doen't work right?

Bluesoleil 2.1.3 A2DP works very well on my asus a6va laptop and with the MSI DUAL NET card at work...well, up to the magical 5MB, that is. Too bad IVT will NOT sell me licenses because the mac addresses are not galaxy-wide unique or something. I guess they expect me to go out and buy a truly unique device or sue asus for selling me unworthy hardware. IVT makes some fine stuff but they do have a rather peculiar licensing policy.

I have also tried the Loki Feurgott crack, but it just says "hardware NOT licensed" (maybe it works only for radios with a cloned mac?).

I've tried everything I can think of, short of cracking IVT myself, which I'm a total newbie at. Plus SoftICE 3.2 is giving me error 31 even after removing the DaemonTools.

Can anybody help, please? I'm kinda lost here :-)

hmm, so I've been running .801 on my laptop for a long time and it's been great. Then I decided to try 2500 and I patched it like I always do. But then the problem came when it couldn't detect that I had bluetooth even though in the inf I had the right device in the inf. (I have a dell truemobile 350). Then I went to reboot and it bsod'ed, even to safemode and I had to reinstall. good grief. and the magic of it all is that i'm about to try again

I've been searching all day and can't seem to get my set up to work. I'm attempting to get the 5.0.1.2500 drivers to work with my Logitech Dinovo Media Desktop (the original, non-laser version). The hub has VID 046D and PID C704. I added lines to the btwusb.inf "ExcludeFromSelect = USB\VID_046D&PID_C704" and "%LOGITECH.DeviceDesc%=BTWUSB, USB\VID_046D&PID_C704 ; LOGITECH VID&PID" in line with the other occurances of the 046D VID. I followed the directions given above for using the Patcher r17, and still the Bluetooth Taskbar item indicates "Bluetooth Device Not Found."

I've used the Device Manager to Uninstall the "HID-compliant consumer control device" (which is what my hub currently appears as) and then removed and reattached the hub, hoping to get it to recognize it as Bluetooth, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

HI all !

Patched via service pack directory method.

Tested and working version using Internal HP Bluetooth device on :
HP / Compaq NC6220
Logitech High Def Audio Headphones (audio Sink) WORKING.
Logitech MX5000 Keyboard WORKING
Logitech MX1000 Mouse WORKING
Standalone SetPoint 2.60 WORKING (Install Setpoint After Installing the Bluetooth Stack and REBOOT AGAIN) then do the pairing.

Because I get better speed off megaupload:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2HXKZYQK

There are more complete instructions in other postings if you are in trouble .. but this will work 99% of the time.
1) Uninstall your bluetooth software ( DO NOT UPGRADE )
2) Disable / Unplug your bluetooth device
3) Reboot
4) Install above
5) Reboot
6) Enable/ Plug in Your Bluetooth Dongle/Internal Bluetooth and Point device manager at C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\bin when it looks for drivers.
7) Click on your bluetooth icon in the system tray and " START USING BLUETOOTH "

Thanks all that contributed to this - I think this is BY FAR the best release of the Widcomm stack to date ..

Where did you people find a SetPoint 2.60 with Bluetooth? The only one with Bluetooth I see is 2.22 :-(

I would love to know I wanted to buy a MX900 (mouse only) years ago and stayed away because it was not bluetooth (at least thats what the specs said). Moreover it seems Logitech DELIBERATLY don't put Bluetooth labels on anything except their high end bundles. e.g. if you look at their product catalog the MX1000 mouse DOES NOT have a bluetooth screen print on it ( at least in the online catalog and the current print catalog) . Whereas the MX1000 that comes with with MX5000 desktop bundle does. I have wanted to buy the MX1000 and the G7 but BOTH don't have Bluetooth in any of their specs. They say 2.4Ghz RF. It doesn't mean its bluetooth. Anybody got any comments?

Hi,

My knowledge about Bluetooth is limited. By reading through these forums here I've managed to get this 5.0.1.2500 stack to work with my MSI MS-6967 dongle. It all installed well and all seems to work. I can use ActiveSync over BT to sync with my Smartphone. I can not get the A2DP profile to work with my Nokia HS-12W stereo BT headset. It worked with the trial version of IVT-Bluesoleil but those drivers did not work with ActiveSync.

Is is correct that A2DP might give problems? Is there a way to get high quality stereo to work?

Hey all,

First of all I'd like to say thanks to the masters out there. You're work is definitely appreciated. ::bows::

Second, I've got the Logitech MX Desktop for Bluetooth, the one they pulled from their sales shelves not more than a year after releasing it. It's got the MX900(BT) and the Cordless Elite(BT). I assume, but I'm sure I'm right, that it has a BT 1.2 "dongle", as it's main hub.

So my questions are: I'm trying to get it to work with A2DP I assume the bandwidth is enough? Or does A2DP only work with 2.0?

Also, I'll reply as to how the upgrade goes as I'm upgrading right now.

For all who don't know:
The best place to get setpoint isn't their website its thier ftp.
ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/

Well just as said before the process is pretty simple:
Download Setpoint 2.60 with and without bt.
Install Setpoint 2.60 w/o bt.
Start the installer for 2.60 w/bt. Don't hit next.
Go to your temp drive steal the WIDCOMM drivers.
Restart computer.
Install WIDCOMM Drivers.
No restart necessary.
Install Setpoint 2.60 w/bt.
Restart.

Things should work fine from there.

HCI 1.2? What Set do you have again? I have the MX900 set and it's got HCI 1.1, but supposedly states it supports 1.2. *runs to check the box yet again*

Edit:
I read closer and noticed you're not using the logitech bt hub. That'd explain why the HCI was 1.2. Sigh I think I'm losing here.
The thing is the pairing works fine. Heck using the headphones as a gateway (headset both audio and voice not stereo) works perfectly.
It just doesn't work with stereo.

I am using MX5000 k/b and MX1000 Mouse. But most importantly I am not using the Logitech Dongle .. I am using the internal Notebook Bluetooth Adapter. I suspect your problems are due to old firmware on your dongle.. you will probably save yourself alot of trouble if you can get a more recent dongle.

Oh yeah, mine doesn't look anything like that. What bothers me is what I don't know, For example:

Taken from: Set (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1796,contentid=7693)

Whats new in the included Widcomm Bluetooth Software:
New WIDCOMM Bluetooth software BTW 3.0.1.913 in this web release.
Stack is Bluetooth 1.2 compatible.
Faster connection.

Blah blah...

Yet I have: (See Picture)

So does this mean the set is 1.1? 1.2? Or a bunch of lies? hehe
If it's 1.2 is there a way I can flash the firmware? If so, where do I get an update? I mean I did a ******** search for the past couple hours and it seems like I'm the only one in the world who's still using the logitech bt hub. I could understand it as it's not even 2.0 but, I figured I wouldn't be alone since it's tied to a line of great keyboard bundles.

It's absolutly bluetooth because I am using my MX900 and ELITE BT keyboard with BT hub even with dongle. And widcomm can detect the hub.

This version works fine with Windows Vista build 5365 (without hangs or BSOD with previous versions in a clean install). It detects my device as a BCM92045PG Flash. My dongle is a TrendNet 8M 07b8:b02a (originally with 4M flash but it has a 8M chip -- all the v1.2 is dual boot hci/hid and 8m, flashed with dfutool in linux). I needed to edit the INF file from b02b or b02c to b02a. I have also used hid2hci successfully with "hid2hci 07b8 1000" (my dongle has been upgraded to v1.2 dual boot) I think to get hid2hci to work you need to disable the UAP/Windows defender. I am now able listen to Microsoft Anna with my headset using Textaloud.

The next project is to disassemble the headset and convert it into a boom mic (with some soldering) for use in Dragon naturally speaking. The volume of the Bluetooth headset is too low for dictation because it is too far away. The HBH-300 or VXI is too expensive. Has anyone tried this before?

takkyhide,
I don't know much about the software of your phone but try connecting via the profiles before using the phone software and seeing what happens.

ngvuanh,
The stack in the MX900's hub is actually a 1.1 Bt stack. The hardware is "Compatible" with 1.2 but certain features just don't work. Using the trick I mentioned will get you the upgraded drivers but it won't be able to use any of the new features. The bandwidth isn't high enough.

insiide_out,
Don't take my word for it, but I don't know if it's possible to just add a profile like that. IIRC, the profiles are driver related and will be accessible if and only if the hardware supports it. To add a profile all you'd have to do is upgrade the drivers. It's whether the dongle can support the profile. Now I'm not sure thats right this is what I've gathered from 3h with tech support and my own testing.

widcomm (5.0.1.2500) drivers from patched release.
It was almost pleasure to install, but I guess I still got it wrong.

I had to change manually to "CSR USB bluetooth device) widcomm driver (checked, and now it is right version)

I can send & receive files, though I have to enable connection manually (tray icon doesnt turn green automaticly when i boot up).
I can also use my mobile as internet gateway thru BT&GPRS.

WHAT really bugs me, is that Oxygen phonemanager doesnt work, it simply cannot find my phone.

Also "control panel/bluetooth devices/" doesnt work.
Nor it does show any devices, nor are you able to make any adjustments.
If I try to change anything, Ill get error:

"an error occured while windows was saving your setting. the following settings were not saved: - discoverability settings - connection settings".

oh and dongle was:
Epox BT-DG06 USB adapter-T

Hi all,

I went through different posts and Google and I can't get it to work. My card is a Billionton Compact Flash card (i am using it on Sony U70). When I installed the original, it told me it couldn't start the card. When I right clicked the Bluetooth icon, only option was "Start using bluetooth" (Bluetooth icon was white/blue, so it was recognizing card at least. So I uninstalled, reboot, and give a shot with 5.0.1.2500. This time, the icon is red and the program files\widcomm\bluetooth software\bin does not contain the btpcbcsp.inf and sys, so I used them from the original install. Still no luck.

Should I switch to Bluesoleil (my previous exp with it, when I used a Socket CF 2 years ago was not that good), or is there anything else I can try?

Thx,

PalMop

Thanks for all your help but it aint workin for me! Did everything as per above but how do I 6) Enable/ Plug in Your Bluetooth Dongle/Internal Bluetooth and Point device manager at C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\bin during install Found New Hardware wizard was all over the place - no way to stop ip. After install/reboot I still get Bluetooth device not found in system icon. In Dev Mgr I have the Broadcom Enumerator but NOT the Bluetooth Device showing so I can point to the new Widcomm drivers...why is it not there. BTW I am installing on Sony Vaio using internal Bluetooth.
Thnx

then windows installer go on... neither the bin folder is correct in finding needed .inf nor the system32 directory.... :(
i had to create myself the inf file? i don't figure out how do that....

Hi!
I followed the instruction but the drivers don't seem to work on my conceptronics CBTU bluetooth dongle... It automatically chooses the microsoft stack and I update the drivers manually so that it uses the widcomm stack. It appears on the device manager on the wincomm stack, on properties it says it is working correctly, but srill it does not work... Anybody has any ideas?

If I remember correctly conceptronic has released a firmware update which you must install before you can use newer generation BT stacks. Have you already upgraded?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Finally, my MX1000 bluetooth mouse works off of the built-in Widcomm adapter in my Dell laptop with Vista RC1. :D Now we'll have to see if the Microsoft keyboard and mouse I have in the office will work when I get back.

Hi,i'm a total noob when it comes to BT and i'm having trouble getting my IVT dongle to work with anything but the stack it came with (1.4 i think it is).

When i try and use this stack (Widcomm) it just tells me that there's no device present.
I read the thread and noticed the bit about inserting the Vid and Pid into the ini but that leads me to another problem,

If i don't install the IVT software the microsoft stack kicks in and instead of showing me 1 device(bt dongle) in Device Manager it shows me 2(Microsoft BT Enumerator and Generic BT Radio)

The Generic BT Radio shows a Vid and Pid,the Microsoft BT Enumerator just shows BTH\MS_BTHBRB\6&C042289&0&1,whatever that means.

So,if any1 would like to show off their BT know how and HELP a noob in the process id be eternally gratefull.
