View Full Version : Dead 802 - how to repair / flash?

I think the ghost dual sim I was using for two days on my unlocked 802 (I had unlocked it months ago with USB SMART!) blew it away. Now it just wonīt start up... keeps telling me to please wait... ...and then it nevers turns off: I have to remove the battery to restart it...

Iīve been searching the net for quite a few hours now for a solution, to no avail.

Only thing that appears to work is SEtool - the legitimate one, because the "cracked/free/reversed" one - aka speed_unlock - does not allow flashing, and also does not include 802 on the Sharp 3G phones list.

Anyway, thereīs a solution posted somewhere saying I should flash first with 902sh150h_full_repair.cry and then with the 8 files from 802_144... except I canīt use those *.cry files with my USB SMART.

...and my USB SMART + Sharp 3G Tool 5.0 + cruiser 4 in 1 cables donīt seem to recognize my phone: always ends up saying phone doesnīt power up.

I also tried SPST v10 but none of the applications recognize the phone: it doesnīt show up anywhere, although the apps catch the port/cable.

Iīve tried disconnecting cable, dongle, 9v battery, phoneīs battery, press power on, all I can think of and nothing works!!!

Can anyone help me out here?
Or should I forget the usb smart and the money I payed for it and send the phone to a repair shop and get ripped off?

Actually, the battery is fully charged.
I have no redundant power supply (?)

Plus... the 1.01 file I had is *.flp and doesnīt work with Sharp Tool (?)

I just downloaded the new ones (euro 101 and 144).
What is the exact order of the files on 101, that I have to put on Sharp Tool?

1. 1.01M...
2. 21C0...
3. 2220...
4. FSB220...
5. scgd...

??

Thanks for the help.

...well... I put them in that exact order but still the same "please wait" message... it won´t change... I´m pulling the plug on this one. USB SMART is loosing to SETool on this particular field, I guess.

...I tried the japanese ones... main, 2200 and the other...
...plus initialize boot and other...

NOTHING WORKS!

It turns on but stays numb! The apps keep telling me it doesn`t power up!

THERE GOES MY INVESTMENT!

actually, I can´t even start to flash it!!!
Because the sharp tool keeps telling me the phone doesn´t power up!

the truth is the phone lits up whenever I press the power on button, but it stays frozen at the"please wait" stage: no app is quite fully connecting to the phone...
...and to turn it off again, I have to remove the battery.

Then when I try again, I apply selected jobs, turn on phone... but again "phone not power up"

I think it´s hopeless.

Now either I buy the SETool or I take the phone to repair house... :(

If I understood you, I must:
1. Connect cable with 3v (I´ve been using 9v, as stated in manual)
2. Choose japanese v166 flash files
3. Click apply job
4. Insert battery
5. Wait for flashing...
6. Repeat steps 2-5 only this time using european v144 flash files
7. Apply direct unlock
...

Well... it didn´t work.

1. Connected cable, using 3v (two AA 1,5v batteries)
2. Chose "write flash" with japanese v166m main, 2200-2300, 2800 flash files
3. Chose "do selected jobs"
4. When "switch phone on" came up, inserted battery and pushed the on button on mobile
5. ..."please wait" on phone and "ERROR: phone not power up" AGAIN...

Any other hints, anyone? Please???

...ERRMMMM...

Iīm such a Ģ@§#"#! newbie...
It turns out the COM port on Sharp Tool was not correctly set...
Went to windows device manager, under COM/LPT ports and identified USB Serial Port 1 [FTDI USB Serial converter] as COM15...
Went back to Sharp Tool, changed it, and am at this poit flashing with japanese v166m main, 2200-2300, 2800 flash files...
Also, closed all other running programs (except Firefox) and connected phone to charger just in case the battery didnīt hold through and to prevent any soft accident on the way - as it is a slow process.
Will post results - to help other newbies or just plain ignorants like me :(

So, having worked out the stupid COM port "problem" (ignorance, I mean), here´s what I did:

First stage:
On Sharp Tool, chose "write flash", chose japanese v166m main, 2200-2300, 2800 flash files, clicked "do selected jobs", attached battery to phone and flashing started immediately ok :)
...and it finished ok...
Switching mobile on now worked, past the "please wait" freeze state... nice little japanese characters showed up :) but then phone turned off...

Second stage:
Flashed with 140m euro files (main and initialize boot), all ok.
Turned phone on after works completed, and the "Initialize boot" screen came up:
Current version 1.40M (J350)
SRAM initialize completed!!
Flash format started!! (and later "completed!!")
Filesystem format "started!!" but never "completed!!"...
...instead, the phone just reinitializes consecutively and never gets past the filesystem format phase...

At some point during that fs formating, I just pulled off the battery... and it seemed like the phone was killed: black screen, didn´t turn on...
...I disconected all cables (cruiser & charger) and the battery...
...put battery back on and pressed power button on mobile: it was alive :) but, again, formating...

Stage three:
Flashed with 101M euro flash files, all ok.
Disconnected cables, pulled battery and put it back... turned on phone...
Initialize boot again... but this time all "completed!!"
Plus "Check Sum" came up:
Current ...
TP ...
Flash ...
FileSystem ...
"Please Push Any Key"

...so I pushed, and phone turned off...
Then I clicked Power on button on phone... It´s on! and going! :)

In conclusion: should have flashed with 101 right away!
Summing up: should have done it (flash 101M) in the first place!?
