I got the bluetooth dongle from microsoft which was with the keyboard elite desktop. the keyboard worked fine with the sp2 but now i got the logitech freedom headset... the dongle recognized it... but sp2 didnt know what to do with it... so i looked arround and found out that i should use widcomm so i used the patched version of 5.0.1.802 but when i try to add any device it says that he cannot find a bluetooth device... does this me he does not recognize my dongle and i need to buy a new one??? thx for all ya help
There is a newer version out but 802 seems to be the most stable up untill now. I had the same problem, like alot of other people.
Go into the Device manager:
Right click My Computer > Manage > Device managment
Now in here find your bluetooth dongle and do the following:
Right click on device > Update Driver > No not this time > Advanced > Do not search I will choose the driver to install
Now select the driver which is not signed, the one without the green check mark behind it (it will probably be at the bottom).
Now it shoudl work.

Maybe i must add that i deactivated the sp2 bluetooth. and i went on show all devices in the 2 picture
Hmmz what it actually shoud do (and what it does with me) is give you a list of all compatible devices instead of goto a list of all devices. Maybe somebody else can help here?

Ive got two different microsoft bluetooth dongles and both work fine with widcomm. You may well have to add your device to the inf file for it to work though, and there are plenty of topics on here discussing how to find out your pid/vid and update the necessary inf file.

The byte sequences that seem to work for all of the most recent revisions to the widcomm drivers are:
search for 83C40885F60f85ef000000 and replace 0f85ef000000 in the sequence with 909090909090
search for 8BF083C40C3BF5750E3BFD750A and replace 750e with 9090 and 750a with 9090
you need to do this on the following 3 files:
BTTray.exe (typically in c:\program files\widcomm)
BTStackServer.exe (lives in the same directory as BTTray.exe)
WBTAPI.DLL (lives in c:\windows\system32 or c:\winnt\system32)
I tried it with the version i mentiened above but the hex data is only in 1 of the files... can u explain me how to do what u are saying??? i know its probably alot to ask... but i have no idea and i sitting for ofer 15 hours now infront of the pc and i cant get it to work... i need to get bluesoleil or widcomm to work for my logitech freedom headset to work...

ich würde gerne wissen welche inf file ich editen müsste... hab glaub ich meine vid und pid

Dont bother trying to crack the files yourself, just use one of the automatic patchers mentioned in the posts relating to the newer versions of widcomm.
Its the btwusb.inf you need to edit with the correct vid & pid.

I tired to edit the inf file ... must i write the vid pid in the excluded line???
i took a patched version i think.... or must i use a patcher?? i just replaced 4 files....

it must definately not be in the exclude section and it should go in the main
WIDCOMM section with the rest of the devices
eg. find
%CSR.DeviceDesc%=BTWUSB, USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001 ; CSR VID&PID
and either change this to be your device VID and PID or copy this line and
change the VID and PID to match.

%CSR.DeviceDesc%=BTWUSB, USB\VID_054E&PID_009C ; CSR VID&PID
i changed it now to this... but it still doesent recognize my dongle.... im dieing i cant play with my new headset :)

Have you installed the updated device driver? Either by completely re-installing widcomm or by updating the already installed driver and using the "have disk" option to select the new .inf file

the bluetooth bus enumerator is fine but the microsoft drivers have taken over your actual bluetooth device. The microsoft wireless tranceiver device needs to be updated to use the widcomm driver.
