View Full Version : TomTom5 GB maps - activation rqd - even with crack?
Hey folks - I have a really simple question. I've downloaded about 6 versions of TomTom 5 for the Orange m5000 - and all say theyve been cracked. I've followed the instructions included to the letter, but no matter how many different UK maps I try, they all require validation. I even tried the Canary Islands map, but that was the same (and also the Berliux (sp) map)..
Im completley stuck - and Im hoping that its just somethign silly!
Can anyone offer any help?

nick,
try following:
uninstall all previous versions and maps
install it again
load a GUAM map and start tomtom
only after that load other maps onto your card
(look at the *.pna files which version the maps have - the guam needs top be a lower version than the map you load later)

Hmm - tried that - and the only map I have now si the Guam Map. Now when I try to start TT it fires up, lets me choose the language, time pref. etc, but crashes out once ive hit done at the voice select screen (not changed the voice from the default jane - Ive just accepted all the default settings to get this badboy working..)..
I think the Guam Maps crashing it - or have I got the wrong end of the stick here?

K, just tried it with a canary map aswell - again - it crashes out.. If boh maps are on the SD it lets me choose one, but crashes out as soon as either one is selected..
thi is what i was told too do,.
1. Back up your stuff
2. Delete old Great Britain Map Folder
3. Copy BOTH folders (Guam-Map and Great_Britain_Plus-Map) to root of the memory card
4. Launch TTM5
5. Select Great Britain Plus Map
ill doing it now so ill let u know if it worked

As I have the same problem on my 7710.
BeNeLux and Major-roads works fine but France and UK always asks me for the activation code
