I have been trying desperately to update my Bluetooth drivers, and I have had nothing but problems. I have a Billionton USB Bluetooth Device built into my laptop. The version on the CD that came with the computer is BTW 1.4.2.8. I managed to find a version of the Billionton driver that was 1.4.2.11, and it worked as well.
I am trying to update my drivers because I cannot connect my phone to the device. Someone has suggested that I update my drivers since the phone is a recent release. The person who helped me suggested I update to WIDCOMM drivers. He had version 5.0.1.1200, so I tried those. The drivers did not work, so I also tried .1400 and they didn't work either. In both cases the device was unable to be found. I then tried 5.0.1.802, which also did not work. The device still refuses to be found.
Is there anything that I can do? It seems that the device does use WIDCOMM drivers, and the VID and PID are listed in the inf file as CSR, so I felt there was no need to add them. Should I try 4.0.x or 3.0.x drivers? Would that make any difference? I have listed the VID/PID if it might help. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
