I HAVE A V3 WITH A KAYPAD LIGHT PROBLEM. WHEN YOU PRESS THE POWER SWITCH THE KEYPAD LIGHTS COME ON BUT WHEN THE PHONE IS FULLY POWERED UP THE LIGHTS STOP WORKING. I HAVE FLASHED THE PHONE AND I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE FLEX CABLE BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE! CAN ANYBODY HELP?:confused:

try to do factoryreset and if is still like that, the problem is hardware and is one of the diode that is controling the light make sure u read them one after the other for u to check the bad one the diodes look like resistor

I had same problem, change cable/keypad membrane assembly, worked for me :D

Hi mate i dont think so flashing problem i flash many flash file but stil same i flash boot loder 8.0
and many more.and i changed keypad flex cable too.

Thanks Jason72 but i have already replaced the keypad flex cable assembly and the lights still won't work when the phone is switched on. It must be the keypad light control chip or some other component that is faulty, only problem is i don't know where they are. Do you know? If so then maybe you could give me some pictures. Thanks.

chk this maby it help u

power up the phone. cover the light sensor, located in the upper right corner of the keypad with your finger. press any key and check if the keypad backlight is on or not
If the keypad backlight does not turn on, try to chang this light sensor
maby it's broken or some thing wrong with it

i think ur phone problem in this area

I have changed the flex cable twice already, the keypad light sensor is on the flex cable. It must be a component on the circuit board thats causing the problem. I don't think anybody knows how to fix it.:eek:

Try changing LCD, i have fixed a few V3 keypad problems with this solution.

i had this problem, what you have to do is use liquid flux, there r a few ics next to the connector and reflow them using hot air station, high heat, low air
should fix the problem

Just check components on the upper right part of the KBD flex cable.
They are for light control, even on the new one flex they were damaged.

good luck, i manage to repair mine.
