Hi guys,

This has been doing my nut for a few days now, I managed to get an older version working by replacing service packs on my Dell D400 laptop.
Then I saw a more up to date version that supported A2DP and I decided I wanted some of that action.

So now, I've renamed files, installed, patched, uninstalled, got mad, re-installed, cursed, uninstalled etc....

And it now doesn't work. the little bluetooth icon stays red.

grrrr.

No licence complaints, just a complaint about not being able to find the hardware.

Can anyone give me an "Idiots Guide" to installing these new Widcomm drivers? Its driving me crazy. I've been reading and reading and can't find anything. You guys just seem to instinctivly know what to do with them.

:( I don't

I'm trying to install the drivers on a Dell D400 (USB\VID_413C&PID_8000\5&1422E91&0&2)

I couldn't tell you what the Acer one is though.

These are the drivers I am trying to use

Do you see any BT devices when you right click on my conputer, then go properties, then hardware, then device manager.

1. Remove all previous BT drivers (WIDCOMM, WinXP SP2 built-in, Toshiba etc)
2. Install the latest WIDCOMM driver (5.1.0.1100)
3. The WIDCOMM won't recognize your TrueMobile 300 during installation. So you have to go to Device Manager and update the driver by pointing the Driver directory.
4. Go to safe mode and run License Patcher.

I have a TrueMobile 350, they are both supported by the WIDCOMM driver. But somehow they just won't be recognized during installation. Yerterday I help my friend to install on the HP laptop. Only have to go through item 1,2,4.
