I have a MIO C310x running MIOMAP v3.2

I'm new to GPSs. I have installed the Canada.fbl file on an SD card and it works great. I tried one of the European maps but it either says locked or out of date. Howe do I use the license.db file? Will it render the Canadian and internal US maps useless?
I have not yet unlocked the C310x and would prefer to just be able to use the European maps.

Also is there any way to use no .fbl maps? I am moving to Mexico in Feb and while I do not need navigation, I would love to be able to use the unit as a GPS just to pinpoint my location on a standard map.

My single problem in deed is that i do have only Hungarian, Romanian and Slovakian map for this release. I tried to install "older" maps but they are reported by iGo as being invalid. Could you please help how can i be able to install Europe country maps??? I need special license file or there's a code somehow within maps?

Something is not right... the romania.fbl file is to small (9MB). The old one (from the March '06 I-GO version) is double in size. I expect map files to increase ... or I am missing something?

Just put Italy map to maps folder on SD. When you in Italy, it will work with no problem. If you want to check some objects on the map before you go there, there is an option "Other country" in Address menu. Just remember you cannot set route from Canada to Italy. You will get an error. There are no other limitations

I downloaded from this forum all USA Maps for iGO and I tried to copy them
to iGo\maps folder in my SD card, most of them I succeeeded but a few not like texas and california didn't succeed, it always gives me the message that it was busy with another programme, no mater how hard I tried, couldn't copy those maps.

Does anyone else experienced this problem? Is there any ideas?

You must read upper in this thread. There was a "License file iGO for all maps" sometime in November that work with all maps I can put my hands on! (tk Vitruvian!). Use it!

P.S.
If you get "Hardware change" you need a cracked version. The license is OK...

The license file that works should be 13,312 long. It was posted somewhere here before. There are several different licenses floating out there but the one that works for me is the size quoted above. Try it with the link I have given you for the 2007 version.
I have installed it and it DOES work.
I have a total of 42 maps that are loaded and working: Europe, Israel, Canada and USA. I have a 4Gig card.
Let me know if it works.

The license file goes in the root directory of iGO.
The maps are found in previous posts and they will work by placing them in the MAP folder. Just use the license file that i mentioned before.

Make sure you do a clean install and uninstal any previous versions. Put everything in the root directory and then run setup.exe. That should do it.

I have a 510C, EE version, at least that was typed in large fonts on the box and is what the unit say at reset. On the back it say: Model Mio C310, and near reset sw is a label Win CE NET 4.2 Core. I assume that the only difference between 310C and 510C is the software, ant, if 310C is a Win CE 4.2 NET version it must work. Here is what I do:

- crack ( http://miojaco.mioskins.net/debrid.html ). Work fine via the bluetooth interface and after reset one gets an explorer very much like that of WIN XP toghether with basic utilities.
- download a MioMap V3.2 + crack version form torrent ( www.mininova.org (http://www.mininova.org) )
- after install+crack using the universal licence it work, but interface was a total mess (I presume I've got a portrait version of MioMap and 510 is in landscape mode...)
- after fulling around for two days, reinstall the original version, reinstall the cracked version and so on I discover GAPI for Handheld PC ( from www.wincesoft.de (http://www.wincesoft.de) ). Download, install and play with sys.txt until its work. One also gets a full (video) media player as a bonus. :)

After three days I finally have a working version. And it work fine with *any* map. I now have a 2 GB card almost full with all the maps from this thread.

I have loaded everything on my SD card. I also had to load a program called ScreenRotate.exe to rotate the screen 90 degrees. When I execute the iGO.exe everything works fine, including selecting the language and voice. The software then continues to load up to the point where the screen says "Loading Mainscreen" then it locks up. At this point I have to do a soft restart. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem?

as an alternative method.

This will install a french version of the utilities (with Fichier, Editer, Ouvrir and so on instead of File, Edit, Open ...). There is also an english version out there but all links I found were ded. Maybe you have more luck!

For miomap to work you must set GAPI in portrait mode (270 deg) and modify the interface section of sys.txt. There are two or three combination that work. My sys.txt look like:

I read in one of the forums that the new version of iGO integrates with your contacts in outlook and that the first time you start it it is very sluggish until it finishes searching your contacts data base. I am wondering if maybe the initial sloweness might be due to this.
I would try leaving it on for a while and see if the problem corrects itself.

Slow performance issue.

Here is what I have found. If I delete everything from the root folder of iGo the install the following objects the performance problem does not exits. However, once I close the program and run it again the performance problem is very noticeable. The difference is that two objects are added to the root directory once the application is executed the first time. These two additional objects are app.log and gpstmc.pil. I tried deleting these two objects but the problem still exists. The problem only goes away if I delete everything and reinstall only the objects listed below.

my problem with slow menu is directly caused by the exception, when i starting it, it stops on welome logo with STARTING (picture 1) then when tap on the lcd it goes to menu (very slow) then i click up-right and minimize it - and i see that exception (pic 2.)

then i click OK, maximize IGO back and everythink is OK, very fast .... only button ABOUT PROGRAM is not working ...
and waiting didnt help...

I will give the Mio crack you suggested. As noted, I have the iGO working, and I'm having the same performance problems that playt indicated in his post. I played with the memory allocation and it helped but it did not solve the problems.

c_cris please, i finally installed good working miomap in mio c510(any problems with exceptions), but i have a problem with touchpad screen, can you please tell me how to modify sys.txt - because i had my screen rotated 180dgr, so i make sys.txt as you wrote:

Screen is ok now, but touchpad setup is rotated 90dgr so i cannot control icons by touching the screen :(

It is working when i use screenrotate.exe and mentioned sys.txt, but if i wanna to startup it automaticaly after RESET (put shortcuts to windows/startup)it doesnt work because it tryes to run screenrotate and miomap at the same time (not first scr and then mio) so the result is freezed unit :(

I think the best solution is to set up rotating touchscreen option somewhere in windows or in sys.txt - anyone knows how?

I already post my system.txt. I use GAPI setup for screen rotation and it work fine with 270 deg. It is true that after reset I have to manualy rotate the screen, but I change mode frequently so I don't research into this.

The portrait / landscape option will only change the way MioMap look (in portrait or landscape mode) but will not solve the touch screen problem.
In my option, the problem is the version of MioMap we run. The cracked version I found on bittorent come from a portrait device.

I am almost sure that if one crack the original version (the C510 MioMap V3.2) one will not need rotate or gapi. I will try my hand on it because I like the bluetooth option in the original version, now inoperant due to screen rotation. If I have any luck I let you know...

Installation Instructions for 310x (Installed on SD card)

1. Download torrent (MioMap v3.2 pda+crack.rar) from the following link or use the link posted by steve672 if this one does not work.

2. Once this is downloaded you will need software to run the torrent and actually download the .tar file. I used uTorrent and it can be downloaded for free from http://www.utorrent.com/

Note: It took several hours to download the actual .tar file so be patient. Hopefully you have a high speed connection

3. Once the .tar file has been downloaded unzip the contents onto you PC. The copy the following over to you SD card. I did not use the actual setup.exe to install this. I just copied the following to my SD card.

1. Modify sys.txt to look like the following...

2. Copy the entire MioMap folder to the SD card (you don't really need application.dat, miomaptoday.dll, and MioMapV3.cab)

3. Copy miomap.exe that is located in the wm5_crack folder and place it in the MioMap folder on the SD card.

4. This version is for a PDA so you need something to rotate the screen 90 degrees before running MioMap.exe. I use ScreenRotate.exe and it's free on the internet. So first execute ScreenRotate.exe once, the run MioMap.exe on the SD card and everything works great.

Couple Notes:

The above assumes you have already hacked your 310x. If not you can force the 310x to startup in a windows mode by holding down the "Menu" and "Volume +" buttons on the right side of the Mio at the same time will doing a soft reset. Once in a windows mode click / programs and use explorer to navigate to the storage card and then follow step 3 above.

You will have to hold the Mio upside down because of the screen rotation but it works great.

If you use the license.db key posted earlier for the iGO you can use the Mio maps (original US maps that came with the Mil), the Mio maps included in the torrent (europe maps) and iGo europe maps.

I also would like for someone to explaine how they got the eurujpe maps to work on the 310x. I got all the files and put on the sd card.
if i click on setup.exe it goes have waythrough the install then stops with a error 0051 cannot copy files.

if i click on the miomap.exe hack, it starts install, flips the screen upside down, then says failed to open /windows/tahomabd.ttf. If i copy the tahomabd.ttf from the original mio map folder to thesd card, I get a message scrooling about warning abot the use and then its locked up screen.

Do not run the setup.exe. The error you are getting when running this is due to the fact that there is not enough free space on the mio to install the application. It must be installed on the SD card and the installation (setup.exe) does not provide a way the change the installation path. Just place everything on the SD card including the crack version of MioMap.exe You will also need place a copy of tahomabd.ttf in the Mio folder on the SD card. This object can be found on the Mio. Once everything in on the Mio just run MioMap.exe to load the application.

Note: You will need to use something to rotate the screen 90 degrees. I use ScreenRotate.exe which can be downloaeded from the internet for free.

Thanks for the help.. got it working...I kept trying the setup.exe and it would not work.. got the screen rotater and all is well.. something is curious though.. since I had planned to only be in Italy and San Marino, i deleted al the other maps. Now I know I will also be in UK so I added back the uk map.. I got the "locked file" error message. Found another uk map on the igo europe site and downloaded and it works fine..wonder why the uk map that was in the pack with all the other i used would not work..
I originally bough this 310x solely for the gps.. now , thanks to all the smart guys on her, I have video and a Sudoko game.

Here is what you should have on the SD card.

1. Folder named MioMap
2. Within the MioMap folder you should have the following objects:

Data.zip
Gpstmc.dll
Gx.dll
License.db
Miomap.exe
Miomaptoday.dll
Sys.txt
Tahomadb.tff (this will need to be copied from the My Flash Disk\MioMap\MioMap folder)

3. Within the MioMap folder you should have the following folders and the contents

Maps
Miotc
Scheme
voice

Hope this helps. You may also have to do a soft reset once this is loaded on the SD card. Good Luck

If you first tried to install the application on your gps using the setup.exe you need to make sure everything was removed from the actual GPS. Running setup.exe fails and it actually leaves a few files on the unit that might be causing your problem. If you are not sure how to remove the previous attempt to install the application you can always do a hard reset. This can be done by turning the switch off on the bottm of the unit and waiting about a minute and turning it back on. Caution, doing this will restore the unit to it's original setup, and anything you have hacked and installed on the unit will be removed.

Lgoff, thanks all. I have all the files you mentioned and have not changed anythings out of the box. I have a feeling it is the way I run the miomap.exe.
I am using the 2 buttons to access Windows CE.
I then use the Windows Explorer, double click miomap.exe.
I also tried Run, browse to file and open.

I have installed the hack has outline on the following links. Both explain how to do this but bacially you are installing the 510 system on the 310 which provides some additional drivers etc. So without installing the hack I don't think you are going to get this to work.

Have you tried the Jan 11 2007 cracked update for iGO that you posted. I beleive its the same one that I posted a while back BUT unfortunatelly it has a nasty bug of crashing WM5 in the middle of navigating a route.

Hi!

How have you "pulled down" the maps and voice files? If you just use the browser to download, you've got "encripted" files that are not recognized by the program. You must "decript" them using instruction you can find upper on this thread (dec06 I think, something with USA maps...).
However if you use Mio Update program then they are already "decripted" and I dont know what the problem might be.
If you have a license problem then the files ARE LISTED with a lock sign and you can't use them but you will see them. There is NO WAY the license can block your voice files!

Two things:

1. When you install iGo and it runs for the first time you must soft reset your device befor making any selection. After the reset than you copy crack to your device and run. Since you already installed than uninstall iGO and manualy remove any files and folders that are left on your device and the card. Than try reinstalling as described above.

2. Or you can use the following link:

and insatll this application that i personaly prefere. It uses same maps, voices and languages that you have for iGO but with the diferent interface. No need to crack this one. It has alredy been done.

Try the licence posted just above by NEWMAN26. Copy this licence to your MioMap folder on your card. If that fails than pm me and i will email you mine that covers all maps on my MioMap 3.2. The link for this i posted above anyway so you can try upgrade and resolve your problem at the same time.

If you downloaded the MioMap from my link than create a folder called maps inside the MioMap folder on your card if there isn't one there already. If tha maps folder is already in MioMap folder than copy all the maps there. You can use any iGO maps from this post with MioMap software.

You must have right lisence.db file. Ithink I posted one earlier. You musthave 13k size license,db file in /storage card/MioMap forlder. or if you installed diferently than copy license.db file to where your existing file is.
Any probs pm me you email and i will send you one, but I am sure that the one in the package should work. It did for me.

Have you actualy installed the version I posted or just used license.db file.

If you installed V3.2 (copy all files from the link to the card and run setup from the root of the card from your device) from the post than it should see all maps. I have whole of Europe, Israel and the whole of USA and Canada ( even the lates maps of Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Rusia etc...)working on two of my PDAs. PM me your operating system, version of your MioMap, and your email.

Hi to you all, i'm new to PNA's and i' m having a major problem. They gave me for present a Mio C510 which is an excellent device as i have seen from all the reviews. The problem i have is that there are no Greek maps installed. I have downloaded IGO_NEW_MAPS.ZIP posted earlier, i have it in my device but there seems to be a problem with the license, and none of the above mentioned works. Could someone be so kind to upload a valid license for the Eastern Europe maps and do i need to have my Mio unlocked to make this work? Finally another question, as it seems that Greek coverage is only 31%, is there a way to install Destinator maps to Mio and if it is, does anyone know how?

Answer to your first question is yes that is all you have to do. Right licence file is the key. I am not sure but I think that for PNA devices you have to have license file on the device too /device/program files/MioMap or somthing. I have Europe,USA,Canada and Australia working on my PDAs.

Answer to your second question is to the best of my knoledge NO. iGo and MioMap do not work together. I have not tested this but i read a lot about it.

This is March 1st 07 vesion. Copy everything to your card and run setup. Add maps and BACKUP first. I do not have PNA so did not test. Hope it works.

Don't bother at the moment. There seams to be a problem with them. My MioMap was saying that they are out of date. As I said i was downloading them at the time and did not test them. Sorry:( :( :(

If it is the same as for pda than just unzip the map and place it in sdcard/miomap/maps folder. If it is sayomg that it is locked than you have to find "all maps" license.db file that has been posted a few times on this forum and replace your licence.db file where ever it is on your unit ( on pda is in sdcard/miomap folder.

Go to Map mode and than go to find adress. At the top right corner it will most likely say change city keep pressing that button until you se change country. Once you select country it will go through ther rest - city - street - number etc...

The instructions shpuld be in there woth program download. I remember one thing: Once you install the program it start automatically with the settings. DO NOT select anything just reset the unit and than copy the cr***ed exe and than run and set it up.
