There are not special maps for Romania.
Only Eastern Europe.
Romania gives it only for IGO 2006

I can't download from Rapidshare. Any other links for IGO?

this is great posting. It works perfectly on my HP rz1710. The only problem I have is that the speaker at Kirrio cradle which I receved with my PPC doesn't work with iGO (GPS is OK). It works only with Viamichelin. Any idea how to activate the speaker with iGO ?

your question is for TomTom5 for Smartphone:rolleyes:
TomTom5 for Smatphone wil only running when is a File named "CurrentMap.dat" in a Folder or Root of Smartphone.

copy the Folders "2577","iGO" and the File "setup" on the Memorycard.
in the folder 2577 is the autorun.exe.
this File installing iGO automatic.
you must not install it manually.

I maneged to autostart app as you said but still stops and sais that is an unregistered version. what am I doing wrong?

Is there a way to stop the program ask if I want to upgrade to the newer version? It asks every time I start it. Program works fine but it's annoying to get this question every time I start it.

A map for Turkey has been released and some other updates if you read on the homepage of Igo. Anybody has the maps and updates?
everything you need is here, only there is one problem the newest maps (june) are not cracked, so you cant use turkey yet

1. How can i use all the license files together.They have the same name and if i put all in the same dir i'll overwrite the previos one.So i can use just on of them

I have checked the maps and the maps of Netherlands and Slovenia are expired. Do you happen to have a licence file that works with them?
Also, recently appeared the summer update (updated maps of Romania, Hungary plus maps of Albania, Serbia, Greece and Turkey - only main roads. Do you happen to have it?

After two days of tests I can say that this is one of the best navigation soft I`ve tested on ppc (only polsh native Automapa is better but version I have is only for Poland and IGO for all europe)

hi,
i made the summer update trough the www.i-go.com homepage. Then
a copied the attached licence file to the SD-Card, but the problem was not solved!
As first it comes the messge HardwareIdchanged, and then it requires the activation code. I took the code from the licence file, but is NOK! :confused:
Can someone help me? :)

unfortunately, the new updated maps (bulgaria, turkey, greece, romania and hungary) need more than licence file.
I install the new licence db and the application see that new maps as outdated.
maybe is needed more like a new patched igo exe or new application dat

I wanted to test IGO on my PC through Mobile 5 Emulator, but I couldn´t install IGO. I unpacked the .rar files, also the .rar files in the folders scheme, language and voice. The whole IGO files I put into a shared folder I can use with the Emulator. But when I tried to install IGO I receive the error message "Application is not registered, Error code 0031".
Can someone help me how I can install IGO correctly. Does the folder in which Igo files are, need a special name?

Hi, I've a problem with igo 2006. I installed it on my qtek s200 and it's ok for two days. Then when I turn on igo the pocket is on soft reset every time.
I uninstalled igo for many times and I installed it again, but always the same problem, soft reset, soft reset, soft reset......
Anyone have the same problem?, is possible any solution?.

If the program worked for 2 days then you know that it installed properly.
If you need to reset after 2 days then you are probably installing a program (more likely when you sync) that interferes with it.
Do you have iGO autostart or manual?
Set it to manual and before each start check to see if there are any programs running in memory. Make a not of them and start iGO if it resets then start removing them one at a time to see which is the culprit

The new maps that were released Albania, ......Turkey and then of course there is Israel, how do we instal all these.
I have no problem with the original maps Andora.....Switzerland (exclluding any major roads and of course Albania...Israel....Turkey) they run just fine. I even tried the new license file 24,575 bites but it makes no difference, the program won't load the new maps but shows them as unrecognized with a R.I.P beside them.
Anyone out there with any ideas?

I've installed IGO (version from Stickpin) on 1GB SD-Karte for XDA I/MDA I/Qtek 1010 with 64 MB (both tested: Windows Mobile 2003 and 2003SE with newest ROM) with no problems, but IGo will not start - absolutly nothing happens (no failure message or something else). Softreset and Hardreset but nothing helps. Tried also the updater but said, for my version no update available!
Has anyone here experiences with the XDA I? What do I have to do?

I just tried to install IGO like it was described but when I start IGO I receive the error message - Initialization error: no language files were found in \Speicherkarte(which is my Micro SD card)\iGo\Lang -.
But in the Lang folder are the original language folders with the files for each language.
Has anybody an idea what can be wrong?

I have downloaded what appears to be several different versions of iGO and its crack, (and it works like a charm) I just don't know which will take an update or rather, how to have some of the newer maps be recognized.

I copied the files to SD card, ran setup.exe, copied crack igo.exe over the one in program files, start up iGO, then get the error message "Failed to open file: /windows/tahomabd.ttf exiting application.
Anyone have any idea what this means? I'm using a Dell X50v.

All the English maps for Israel give me the "RIP" icon (outdated map). Does someone have the latest up-to-date English Israel map? I don't have Hebrew on my Pocket PC.
The links to the latest English Israel map on rapidshare.de had been blocked by the site to to sharing violation copmlaints, and the upload.com links were never, ever avalable.

Lavie The Israel map that I have on my PPC is 5,950,943 and the license is 24,576 and I get the same RIP message. With this combination, however, I get 33 Countries but no Israel. Maybe you can't get Israel concurrently with the European maps?? Steve

Steve, please, could you tell me what did you do to make all the maps run?? I have the same your problem with the "RIP" image with the new maps download (greece and so on)...i downloaded the "license.db" and "application.dat" that "quek" shared..but I still have the same message when I open "Igo" that say about old maps and in the detail still the RIP image :(
Any ideas? I'm interested in the Greek maps (nextholidays ;) ) that is exactely the same lengh as you mentioned in your message...

HI Steve, I follow your suggestion and now all works fine! I can use the Greece Maps...btw now I have a new problem..as soon as I try to use the PDI (POI) , I press on the button "PDI" and the software start to "beep" for about 4/5 times than I-go crash and close :(
So now I can't no more try to find the more closed Shop or anything :( Do you have the same problem?

...what I noticed is that I tryed to start back with the "old version" of I-go and of course it doesn't read the new maps but I can use POI...switching to the new version POI can't be read...I treyd to convert the igo.db to igo.kml file but the syntax of the file seems the same of the other .kml...and of the igo.db that I previously used...soo or it's something about the new .exe or about memory evenif I don't think it's a out of memory problem...

WM5 for me. I have an ASUS Mypal and even downloaded the extra files for it and tried reinstalling but no luck with the POI's.
I did exactly as you suggested when installing but I did not instal the Mio files. I don't think that makes any difference.
It might be worthwhile to post the size of your files (not the maps) to see if we have the same thing installed.

The problems, as I wrote yesterdays, seems in something changed in the new igo.exe file...as with the old one, I can't read the map but i can use the POI ...with the new one I can use the Map but can't use the Poi...
Making a lot of try about 2 or 3 times I arrived 'till it show you the POI categories...btw as soon as click on one of them I-go crash...

I have ASUS Mypal 636N as Steve...and the same for me bout the Mio Files...
The problems, as I wrote yesterdays, seems in something changed in the new igo.exe file...as with the old one, I can't read the map but i can use the POI ...with the new one I can use the Map but can't use the Poi...
Making a lot of try about 2 or 3 times I arrived 'till it show you the POI categories...btw as soon as click on one of them I-go crash...
I tryed to google around but with no luck :(

Yes Quek I made the setup... I follow your instraction....copy all the files you shared in the sd..than unplug a plug the SD and the setup start automatically....I confirmed all the request about the installations of new files...and all went fine...
I copyed the maps and finally get them working...
..and then the problem...about POI...

my igo.db is 40kb ...I don't think is the problem there...I change that a couples of times to different igo.db and nothing happen.
Try putting the map file into IGO fodler before you do a setup

I would like to know which are differences from map files fbl and map files type ffk. I see that in the Europe general are fbl and I have also some maps that are ffk. Example Romania.fbl is only 7 Mbytes and Romania.ffk is more than 24 Mbytes maybe are better and with more streets, so I would like to put all european or some european countries but also romania.ffk and I want to know if is it possible to mix them and if are compatible.
Is possible to put in my map directory:
Italy.fbl, Austria.fbl and Romania.ffk , Hungary.ffk ?
I must put in the root two or more license files or not?

Sorry...my mistake...it is Miomap.exe...
If you create a shortcut or if you simply tap on it...it run on IGO with speedcam capablities...or simply switch to landscape...you will notice something different
Igo still do not have the speedcam POI capablities even though it show the speedcam Icon

As I read of people that have and igo.db of more then 9MB I wonder how much they will take to make the program start???

I have two version, one is for Europe and has inside a lot of countries and Romania and other countries are little dimension, Italy is a normal dimension of file, I suppose that is enough detailed. But some countries like Romania is only 7 Mbyte (I see cities that have low definition and little streets). I have also single countries like Romania, Hungary and Slovakia that are much better detailed and are about 25 Mbyte. The problem is that I need the first installation and the second for some countries and I don't know if I can only have to put the second maps in the same directory. I think that it need the second version of iGO that comes with these countries. But in this way I have to put out europe (with Italy). Also the map files are different the first are fbl files and the second are ffk files

Thanks for your reply. After re-installing everything and reading some more on a Dutch website I managed everything. Even the startup screen is now Mio :-)
My old data.zip did the wrong trick.

I have Miomap.exe in the root directory of my SD caard but it does not matter if I click on it or iGO.exe I always get the Mio Map screen. When I try to change to portrait mode, it just cliks but won't change back. Any ideas?

That's funny, I always have IGO, I can have only Mio if I tap on the Miomap.exe.You should try a soft reset and see what happen.

The Map folder should be under the IGO folder
If you create a short cut for MIO.EXE, you should then get 2 programs insteal of just the IGO

You still can add a marker..Add Via... is where you place a flag as marker
You can only add speed cam on the MIOMAP version. Just tap on any screen and you see a red dot and tap on ADD VIA...there you get a marker

Also you should not have problem swtiching between potrait and landscape.. Make sure before you exit (MIOMAP) you switch to potrait. It should work

If you start with Miomap.exe...the speedcam must be enabled at the Settings---General, activate the sound and visual,
if there is a speedcam around ...there will be a beep sound

With PoiEdit create from POI-file a IGO.KML file.
2) convert POIs
with tool poiconvert.exe you can import in the DOS-Box POIs with KML- Format into IGO.DB:
Usage: poiconvert.exe [d|e|t]
d: decode iGO.db file into iGO.kml
e: encode iGO.kml into exising iGO.db
t: export tracks from iGO.db to iGO.gpx
Attention:
Encode delete from iGO.db file the former POI's, and only POI's from iGO.kml will come into the new iGO.db file.

I suggest you reinstall the Igo...removed anything that goes with Mio
I might have posted one without the Mio before.
If you son't have let me know...just used the same license

Special Note:
This is a repackaged version of iGO 2006 and includes DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS. I found it a bit tricky to get iGO going when I initially gnabbed it especially since you had to download one package "here" and then another package "there", etc. All of this notwithstanding, there weren't any instructions on how to get it going (which will definitely be tricky for someone new to the Pocket PC or computer world).
This package is my solution. It contains everything you need and an easy install (as long as you follow the instructions).

Does anyone have a link ( possibly on rapidshare ) for this 1GB file that contains whole of Western Europe and 8 Eastern Europe countries as mentioned in above articles?
Has anyone gotten all the 33 European countries AND Israel to load up without problems? If so what is the size of your license file and Data.zip file?

after 24 hours of labour my GPS not work.
My steps:
I replace in install folder the miomap folder
start installation with <restore miomap software>
message: license not found
my original license file is different, I was change the serials with notepad, but not great results: black screens, blocked, or infinit turn.
First message : Hardware ID changed!
I can select the language after that I have the second box:
Map initialization error, Couldn't find license data!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the program turn off
to have access fo files I use Joebar unlock

I now would like to reinstal iGO to include Canada and USA.
Am I correct in assuming that the POI's that I have saved will be in the folder:
iGO>igo_db>POIUpdates.upd
or is it:

To be safe...save under both of them...make a backup 1st before you do.
To answer you question about about each province ...I think you did not use the US base map with the Canadian map. Try that and see

I have been battlling this for some time and I do have 33 coountries of Europe, Israel, Canada and some states of USA, all working. The secret is to know which license to use and the best way to find out is always ask for the file size. I have about 3 or 4 licenses and I can get various maps to work but the best I have found so far (and I stand to be corrected) is the one that's 13,312 in size.
Download it from post 211 by quek. It works for me.

It doesn't work for me. I am trying to put Missouri map on the device, and it tells me all the time that the map is outdated.
I think we miss something here. May be some other file that defines map properties?

I fly a lot between Europe, Asia and Americas. Before I have got US maps for iGO, I was using Destinator in US and iGO in Europe.
I have found myself in a situation when European Destinator had some positioning issues in USA. It had about 100 meters shift to North from a right physical location.
Does someone have experience in using iGO both in Europe and USA, just switching the maps?
Is there any problem? I am asking because ellipsoid models should be different for USA and Europe. This difference can be compensated by maps or by program itself. For the second case we have to reinstall different versions of software for different continents. How does it work in your cases?

I just came back from Europe where I used iGO extensively and I was very satisfied.
One thing you might want to check is the accuracy of your GPS position. Just click on the GPS icon and it tells you the confidence of the reading. It may be off by 10 meters or so but not by 100's as you mentioned. I don't know why that is. A good lock for me is usually 1.2 meters.
I have some states of USA loaded with the European maps and it seems to work fine. Make sure you have the USA base map land water map loaded into iGO.
I live in Canada and it is acurate in the area where I live (so far its).

I would like to clarify. I had 100 positioning error with Destinator PN Europe using USA maps. It is not about positioning accuracy, this is a mathimatical model error.
I am glad to hear iGO doesn't have this problem.

A few weeks ago there was a MioMap 3.1 to 3.2 update. Also some new maps could be downloaded straight from the Mio website. For example: http://www.mio-tech.be/updates/miomap/maps/luxembourg.fbl (fill in the name of any of the 17 (?) countries before the .fbl and the download should start). However, the licenses posted above (including the Vitruvian license) don't work with these updated maps. Any way to solve this??

Seems like US maps don't work on Mio 168 (or it's because of PPC 2003 which in fact does suck).. Tried all the licenses available from the links good people have posted here - not the case.. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this one? What a bonner...

I have USA on my iGO but it does not want to appear as USA when I look under the maps that are installed. It shows up as separate states. Same with Canada. It shows up as separte provinces rather than Canada as a country.
I have seen screen shots that do show Canada as a country. Never the less it still works, the only disadvantage is that when you enter an address you have to specify a Province/Canada or a state/USA.
Do other people have the same results?

Do you know how to make all POI visible under "Find POI" menu? It looks like part of them is missing there in my system. Let's say I can find some Best Buy by the address and it is indicated as "Shopping" POI already. But I cannot find it as an actual POI just because there is no Shopping in the list when I am browsing it by "Find POI". How to make them visible too? Or may be there are in some subbranch?

MioMap 3.2 All updates + Decoder + Bat file
Requirements: Updates from mio-tech.be
Overview: To decode all the files you need to unzip the miomap folder and put it in c:
if you want to decode everything you should put all the files you downloaded from
the mio-tech.be site in the c:\miomap\update folder (dont add any folders like lang or maps in the update folder, place the downloaded files there only).
After that hit the ''all file decoded. file made by Twingo.bat''
and keep waiting, after it is finished all decoded files are located C:\miomap\miomap copy all the files and past them
on youre storage card. Overwrite say yes to all
(PS if you dont have c: then change the .bat extension to .txt and change all the c: to anything you want)
