After many hours trying to setup an Apple wireless bluetooth keyboard with the Widcomm stack on a PC with Windows XP I am desperate. With the Widcomm version 5.x it is not possible to do the pairing process with the keyboard. Usually the PIN/passkey is shown in the widcomm window and has to be entered on the bluetooth keyboard. Unfortunately the entry field for the PIN is blank, the passkey is invisible!
Only with an older Widcomm version (1.4.x) it is possible to do the pairing. But I want to use the new 5.x Widcomm software due to some new required features. Also other stacks are no options.
Two questions:
1.How can paired devices of an older Widcomm version (1.4.x) be used with the newer version 5.x without new pairing? Is it possible to copy some parts of the registry or where is the information be stored? By upgrading or by deinstalling+installing the widcomm software all paired devices were lost.
2.Does anybody know how to display the PIN in the pairing process? Unfortunately the hack (With the regedit modify these two values. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\Genera l
Set PinCodeWord To a value of 1111. Set UseFixedPin To a value of 1.) did not work for me.
