How to repair liquid damage mobile phones??

Does any one know how to fix repair liquid damage mobile phones??
as my uncle spills some tea coffe coke or other liquid on my or his phone every month or two now i have some new phones sitting at home that are damaged and today he don it again he has spilt his coffe on my 6680 so how do i fix it?????

sir, open the unit. wash the main board with water and detergent using a anti static brush, rinse it then see if it already shines then **** dry it with a hair ****er. **** dry also the phone assembly cause it may be also wet then when sure its already dry, assemble it then check if it powers on, if not, then the program may have been damge already due to the spilled liquid. your gona have to flash the phone if thats the case. BR

the phones that u have already damaged are on your luck.but in feature when ever u buy any phone,go to any repairing lab,open it and camofladge it with any lubricant before your uncle wet it with any liqued

there is no miracle solution for waterdamage phones. it depends on a lot of things like if battery was to full, if is sea water or not,if the owner try to put on charge before clean it,etc. for my experience i say the chances are 50%

in the second part you have to search the damages,
in the third part you have to repair it

get the liquid use for clining clock parts dip the board for 2hrs in it then clean it by petrol n enjoy

The best way to TRY and fix a liquid damage phone is:-
1) Use hard brissle toothbrush to clean of dried corrosion.
2) Use a fibre pen to clean stubborn corrosion
3) Use ultra-sonic bath with ultra-wash liquid for 20 mins.
4) Rinse board in alchohol/white spirits.
5) Use flux and reflow with hot air gun the board properly.
6) Wait for borad to cool then use flux cleaner.

All also depends on the faults that the phone has. Use this method for reallly sever liquid damaged phones.

mate- i repair about 2000 fluid damaged phones a year, and MobilerepairLog is absolutely correct.DO NOT use solvents or petrol on PCB's, as it will break the board down.Methylated spirits will do ok if you haven't got ultrasonic cleaning fluid.Isopropyl alcohol does the trick too.Ignore those who say the phone will break down in a month.Sugar based ingression rarely fails after repair, especially if remnants are cleaned efficiently the first time.My job and good company name relies on phones not failing after repair, so i make sure the job is done PROPERLY, clean pcb well, and you will have no probs.If the battery is shorted [0.0v] , hit it with a power supply, or with about 5v for a short time on the battery, then put on charge, should bring the battery back. I fully endorse the views expressed by fonegeeks and Mobilerepairlog. If you do it correctly, you are more likely to be successful than fail. I think, fonegeeks is very right when he says that "DO NOT use solvents or petrol on PCB's, as it will break the board down." I may be wrong but i don't advise excessive use of CTC for this purpose. Remember, CTC damages plastic and non-metalic parts. I strongly suggest the use of Liquid Detergents used for Cleaning Watch Parts etc.

Nice work on the the post 1amigo, but you will put guys like me out of business :p . If you want to repair a fluid damaed phone under circumstances where little or no equipment is available, use alcohol [ MUST BE 100%], or nail polish remover [Acetone]. Agitata pcb in a container of alcohol for as long as you can, to remove any ingression damage fro under the I.C's. If you are using acetone , be sparing ,using a tooth brush, and then a quick dip , agitiate, and dry immediately.I don't propose you use too much acetone, but have helped people over the telephone do thier own repair in an emergency situation.Hope this helps... :cool:

first of all put yr pcb in alma liquide for 15 mins....


clean it

and put the same nearby (6 inches up) lamp for 10 mins..

after that keep it like that till it get cold (15 mins)

your pics will be ok...

this is 100% solution.... from 10 out of 10 water damage pcb will work

ALMA LIQUID is use for watch machine cleaning. and it is like amonia and wate and detergent mix liquid. i have no more idea what is actualy mixture of it. but it smale like amonia. so i think this.

it awailable in india at watch parts shope. pink colour liquid.

after use this liquid , it is good to wash pcb again with water to remove remaining detergent or solt . and then dry pcb with hot air.


i use this when pcb is with much corotion or oxide .

Thanks baraka. Probably i am also using the same detergent liquid but it is labelled as "ELMA". The one i use also has a very strong smell and is pink in color. May be different manufacturers change the names slightly.

Apart from removing corrosion, i think when you use it in the ultrasonic cleaner, it also removes not only water but also salts etc.which may have remained in the pcb UNDER the parts like BGAs and are likely to eat away the tiny pads on the pcb or pins of the BGAs and cause irrepairable damage in future. Of course, after removing the pcb from the ultrasonic bath, you need to clean the liquid off with little IPA if necessary with a tooth brush and then dry it with a high power hot air ****er (not hot air gun).

I agree that getting it is not much of a problem in India.
Probably we need to find it's chemical name or a commercial name, so that our fellow members in countries other than India can buy it locally in their own countries without much problems.

Put some petrol on it and burn it. :D Fire is the opposite of water, so it should solve oyur problem. If not , let it burn 17 minutes and put the phone in salt water. Water is the opposite of fire. If still doesn't works sink it in acid.
