Small update :
I managed to download the drivers from this link :
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-61425
Also, according to IBM, this is what's new in this version :
Version 5.0.1.2800
(Fix) Sometimes fails to make a PAN connection with Linux devices
I guess it's better then nothing :P
I'm currently installing it and will let you guys know if the latest licence patcher works for it ;)
If all is well, i'll upload it somewhere with the patched licence.dat ready to roll .
Many thanks to bearcuor for this great find ! :)

OK, so i've installed it and it works perfectly :)
I used the Licence patcher 1.7 by phantasm and had no problem with it.

for some reason that link (file factory) doesn't work for me - i only get a 4KB file
Here (http://rapidshare.de/files/21542444/Widcomm_5.0.1.2800_bluetooth_drivers.exe.html) is a rapidshare link for Widcomm 5.0.1.2800 bluetooth drivers.
Here is a torrent:

Does this version provide the BT LAN? Because most of the WIDCOMM driver leaked from Logitech doesn't, I am curious.
Tseng yes it does. I don't use it so i can't confirm if it works
I installed this driver just fine with my CSR EDR 2.0 USB adapter. I have a question though, in XP SP2, I used to be able to use the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard to receive files sent via Bluetooth and often send to a bluetooth device too.
I can't seem to be able to do that with Widcomm drivers, or at least find another alternative to it. I know I can browse the phone's folders via My Bluetooth Places, but what I was looking for was a way to quickly send a single file from the phone to the PC or vice a versa.
Any ideas as to how one does this with Widcomm?

Right click on bluetooth icon in taskbar, click on Quick Connect->File Transfer then select your phone.
So do you recommend this version or 5.1.0.1100?

Ok that's the same OBEX File Transfer folder thing. I guess that's the only way to do it now. Okay, no biggie. Thanks for the help!
ok i need some help here also.
I have a Canyon bluetooth dongle, but in combination with the Windows XP SP2 drivers, give me no other options, than only connecting my phone to PC Suite.
I downloaded the Widcomm Bluetooth 5.0.1.2800 drivers (incl. patcher 1.7), but I don't understand how to install these drivers, and apply the patch, so that my BT-dongle also will be recognized. Can somebody please explain to me how to do this??
Thnx a lot

Ok guys, this is for the techies! I have a Sony Vaio TX series laptop that has inbuilt bluetooth. The BT stack that came with it absolutely sucks and does not give me the option to use functions like Activesync n so on.
Can the posted Widcomm stack here be used to replace the Vaio's original stack? Or does this stack only work with external BT adapters?
Appreciate the help guys!
Cheers.
The Widcomm stack works with a lot of adaptors, both external and built-in. I don't know if it works with your one though. What is it currently shown as in Device Manager?
Also, thanks for this new version, working great on my Acer laptop. (But that has a Broadcom onboard bluetooth so I'd expect it to work!)
I make a pack with license generator

The file you posted is described as v5.1.0.2800, but the contents are v5.0.1.2800.
I'm curious why people still use this older version when v5.1.0.1100 has been out for a long time and appears to work perfectly (for me, anyway).

i installed Widcomm_5.0.1.2500 on this one and its far better than the microsoft stack. tried to install Widcomm 5.1.0.2800 a number of times byt i didnt get all of the profiles ??f for some reason..
interesting is that there is a ALPS UGPZ6 module that fits internal in the computer! that module supports Bluetooth 2.0+EDR .
if i can get hold of that module i will upgrade sony in USA has it for 99USD.
