i just bought my bluetooth usb dongle a couple of days ago, its a generic one i'd say, with the brand of "Ritmo Bluetooh USB Adapter CB-545", it includes the Bluesoleil cd inside with no further drivers or what so ever. My intention of buying the dongle is to transfer the Short messages from my mobile phone and transfer it into my PC. The mobile phone i have is Motorola V600.
At first i was going to use Motorola MPT software to do so, it worked once using my USB cable, so i figured to have it a try with bluetooth for easier connection. I tried to install the Bluesoeil 1.6 included in the "driver" cd, and it works fine, it can detect my dongle and it can pair with my V600 just fine, but theres no SMS transfer capability in Bluesoeil. So, i tried to install MPT, however, it cannot detect my dongle, so i cannot do the pairing.. it did ask me whether i want to install the adapter or use existing one, the one that cannot detect my dongle was the "use existing one". so the next try i did was installing the driver that came with MPT, and it was the widcomm one.
After installing the widcomm driver, i do not see anything changes, i do recognise a new icon in the taskbar, and it can detect my dongle (i think), but when i click on "start using bluetooth", nothing happens, no program started, no message pops up, nothing.. is it meant to do so? :confused: and when i fire up the MPT again, it still do exactly the same thing as before, its as if i do not have the correct driver to recognize the dongle..
please advise me of what i have to do to make it works :( as i have no knowledge whatsoever with the software.. i've tried reading through the posts here, but it makes me even more confused as i do not know what my real problem is..
im using windows xp sp2, if that matters..
