can't flash u880

i have tried to unlock a u880 using the software available but now the phone flashes on and off. i get it into test mode to flash the phone but all i get is an emergency mode to flash the modem file. i select the file but i get a nand error at around 37 secs. do i need to select erase efs or am i doing something else wrong?
