BB Cable Question. [Archive]

Its my understanding there are only 2 dif cables for all 5xxx6xx7xxx gsm bb's?
Correct?
1 is mini usb and is most prevelant.
the other is the proprietary connector as seen here

My problem is with 2 dif cable and 2 dif bb's that use this cable neither will recognize the bb. no driver prompts, no connectivity. it does charge the phone however??
2 bad cables in a row? seems unlikely..
the 2 bb's in question are 6710 and 6020.
Anyone else run into this???

It's because other one is serial cable. We will add support for those if possible aswell.

ok, so i just need a serial cable for these models? then all is well?
That would be great if you could add support for the usb since most modern laptops have phased out serial.. :(
