Thank you for the file and instructions. It works great!

Only problem is that when I try to download song lyrics or album art, it tells me the software is not purchased yet etc. Then after restarting the app, it prompts me to connect to the internet to see if the copy is legal etc. The software is then de-activated.

So while we can crack the software, is it true that we can't use the lyrics and album art download function?

when a "cracked" app connects to the server vendor, it's highly likely that it wont let you.

i believe a cracked app's purpose is to be able to use it on your end as a whole featured app. that's all.. if it can connect to server for miscellaneous stuffs.. great.. but if not, we should just be thankful we can use the app without having to buy it :D

hi ppl, trying to update my M600i..when i started SEUS software it started to download an application after which it says "Missing JVM" - "Could not locate a Java Virtual Machine" I tried to uninstall and reinstall a old and latest update package but same problem. I installed the latest version of Java Runtime also from java web site. .!! Any suggestions !

Also after update of my PC Suit to the latest version, i can not sync with my computer... it just hangups without any activity for over 10min... i am totally lost... my backup etc.. works perfect though ...

When you install it, you need to enter an email address and password. I used the same as when I had the cracked version for the HTC Tytn from this site.

i always do get problem when i connect via USB on the phone mode that it does not go on the mode to install or anything, i also have a BT widdcom SW installed on the machine,

but when the USB is connected on the file transfer mode, the phone shows connected on the software, anyone else having the same problem?

do you have a firewall installed, cause Mcafee, Windws Live OneCare and some others are know for not working with the sony ericsson pc suite. temporarily disable your firewall and restart the pc,then try connecting to the PC SUITE again

Yes, installed it on Vista business 32bit... tried the admin mode startup, also WinXp /Window2000 mode .. nothing worked same problem. Got the latest version from Java.com tooo

if you have bluetooth in your pc/laptop, it's better to use that than the pc suite. much quicker, easier and hassle free. hehehe

long message bug application? do you mean that there's a bug when creating messages that are more than 160 characters? haven't experienced it yet though.

I don't write email but a lot of people have this bug.

Bad news - from sonyericsson forum


Sorry for the delay in getting this info. No new firmware is planned to be released for the P990 and W950 after R6D23 released on June 15, 2007 via the Sony Ericsson Update Service. The last firmware release for the M600 was R6A16.
I have got an official statement from Niklas Sivander who is the Head of Product Management, Open OS.
So here it goes:

"These firmware releases meet the requirements of bug fixes prioritized by our operator customers and the Customer Services organization within different markets. The decision to freeze the P990, W950 and M600 firmware versions at this point has been made based on meeting these requirements. As with any phone project, no product is ever completely flawless. Any remaining issues are of course unfortunate, but we feel that with the level of quality on the latest P990 firmware we now have a good, solid product.

Due to all heavy features in P990, the need for RAM memory has grown. When running multiple memory-consuming programs at the same time, the available RAM memory runs low and sometimes results in the memory manager closing down one of the applications. We have been working on improving memory management during the whole lifecycle of the P990. The low RAM memory situation for the P990 will unfortunately remain for the heaviest users, and would not be fixed by a new firmware update since it's hardware related. Multi-tasking on the P990 however works satisfactory provided that you don't run too large and memory-consuming programs at the same time. Performance improvements have indeed been made for the new P1 phone compared to P990 and the user RAM available for applications has been increased with >400%, significantly improving multi-tasking performance and application behavior so that you can run a lot heavier programs simultaneously.

Many users are comparing the P990 with the stable and relatively problem-free predecessor P910, which was an excellent smartphone. The P910 was based on an earlier Symbian OS and UIQ platform version with only an incremental software development update from the P900 (Symbian OS 7.0, UIQ 2.1), which made the development work a lot smoother at the time. With the P990, the Symbian OS capabilities have however expanded quite significantly and as with any major platform update, this was expected to introduce some new issues to solve. Sony Ericsson however underestimated the complexity of the development work for UIQ 3 and it took longer than expected to implement and quality assure things like the platform security mechanisms, the multimedia framework and other advanced connectivity aspects like 3G, videotelephony and WiFi. It has been a tough journey for all of us. Please extend my thanks and appreciation to the user and developer communities for all their patience, support and feedback which has helped us identify bugs and improve both existing and upcoming products."

In addition to Niklas's comment above, I have managed to get hold of a list of the major bug fixes as required by operators and Customer Services and solved as of R6D23, I am going to filter out the user bugs and translate some of the stuff into a non tech jibberis before I publish them here.

Sony Ericsson has not found any memory leakage problem in the platform or product in its testing of the latest firmware. Those additional third party applications that users may download should be ok and not create memory leakage provided that they have been developed according to UIQ 3 standard guidelines but it is up to the developer in question to ensure correct development and testing procedures of their apps.

The comments about new bugs from our forums and http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Phones/P990i#Known_Bugs having been introduced in R6D23 have been forwarded to the development projects and will be reviewed over the coming days and I will try and get some comments back to the forums from product development on them.

Bugs reported on this forum and from the P990 wiki at sourceforge has been sent to the development organization. Many of the reported bugs have been fixed as of R6D23.

I appreciate your continued patience on this topic and fully understand your frustration and disappointment on our lack of communication and clarifications up until now.

Try to flash again, format memory stick and do a hard reset. This should fix.

I have the same problem and others. R6D23 is buggy.
My 990 restarts 1 to 4 times a day. It says it's to optimise memory.
I have flashed R6D23 three time by now and use my 990 without memory card for days with no effects. I will use my old 910 until SE fix the problems.

Hi everybody,

I have a peculiar problem with the worldmate Pro on my p990. I installed it and registered it with the email and the password and also put the activation code as some guys wrote here on the GSM forum. It worked perfect for about a month but recently it refuses to start and says that this activation code is not valid and contact the customer service.
I tried to master reset the phone, install the new firmware, format my memory card, reinstall the software, and tried every possible way but it gives me the same error.

Please HELP me. I am frustrated. I want the worldmate Pro.

p990i already has one. if you want another program for it, there is alon audio recorder. use the search function of this forum. that's what it's for. and if you need something in the future use that first as well rather than posting a message requesting/needing it. there's a reason why the search feature is provided.

Are U sure the P990 has the call recorder. I think It doesnt

U are mistaking it for the sound recorder.

The Alon Recorder is also the sound recorder and NOT the call recorder.

Funny... it worked for me... wht i did was install ver 2.6 after that used the code & passwd provided in code.txt

no, they don't. you need to have it install to call anyone that has skype, google talk, MSN, etc...

it also allows you to call contacts from your contact list using skypeout.

i did a session calling someone in google talk and besides some delay we experienced, it was quite good. I even think the delay was related to the hotspot i was using ( a supermarket in Crete, Greece)

Sorry I mean, does anybody have Magic Profile for UIQ3, or something similar that I can use, coz I have ACM v2.62 but apparently it doesn't show the phone number rejected in the call log, it only listed the amount of calls blocked .I tried call filter but it's even worse, it doesn't even block the call...so anybody can help me? my phone is M600i

Be careful with this guys software! The latest Handy software he posted and even named FULL, is NOT full, but measly Demo versions! So the serials don't even work on them.

I have updated it and they have resolved the spacebar to phone problem. But a new problem has creeped up!! The screen calibration does not stay. I have to recalibrate twice or more per day:mad:. While updating keep this issue in mind and report same occurence to make sure that this is not an isolated issue. Thanks one and all keep the good work going

This problem was with the previous R6D23 firmware as well. I guess it was not addressed in the current firmware release.
you might say some sloppy requirement docs being passed to the programmers..
